Demo Release | February 20th, 2026

[p]On February 20th, 2026, we’re releasing the Ultimate Hunting® Demo.[/p][p]This demo represents the current stage of development. It is not final, not fully polished, and not free of issues. You will encounter bugs. Some systems may behave inconsistently. Certain elements are still in progress.[/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]The demo takes place on about 16 km² of the African map, which is still under development and has not received final visual polish. The focus is on the core gameplay loop: exploration, tracking, ethical shot placement, harvesting, transporting animals, and progressing toward better gear.[/p][p][/p][p]You’ll be able to hunt African Bush Elephant, Burchell’s Zebra, and African Savanna Hare.[/p][p]In terms of equipment, the demo includes three weapons: the Buckfear 150, the .416 Rigby “Cape Sleeper” rifle, and the Sloth MDR recurve bow. Buckfear supports customization, including caliber changes, barrel length adjustments, stock color, and muzzle attachments.[/p][p]Available ammunition types in the demo are:[/p]
  • [p]For .243 WIN: 55gr FMJ, 55gr PT, 85gr FMJ, 85gr SP, 100gr PT, and 100gr SP.[/p]
  • [p]For .270 WIN: 90gr SP, 130gr FMJ, 130gr SP, and 150gr PT.[/p]
  • [p]For .416 RIGBY: 400gr FMJ, 450gr HP, and 450gr SP.[/p]
  • [p]The bow uses a single arrow type.[/p]
[p]Ballistics are implemented in their current development state, and ethical kills, proper calibers, and vital shots directly affect in-game money and XP. You’ll also have access to one vehicle, allowing you to load harvested animals onto a trailer and transport them across the map. [/p][p][/p][carousel][/carousel][p]The demo is single-player only. There are no quests. It’s free-roam hunting with progression to unlock better equipment. There will be full gamepad support + 12 languages.[/p][p]This demo shows where we are right now, not the final quality target. Your feedback will be important, and we’ll monitor reports closely and improve the demo as development continues.[/p][p]Thank you for being here.[/p][p]See you in the savanna.[/p]

Merry Christmas

[p]Dear Community,[/p][p]As the year wraps up, we want to wish you peaceful holidays and a better New Year. Thank you for being here, for following the project, and for sticking with us even when things are quiet.[/p][p]This year, we didn’t have any presents for you. No demo, no surprise, nothing to unwrap. And honestly, that’s our responsibility.[/p][p]The truth is, with such a small team, making this game turned out to be more ambitious than we could easily handle. Sometimes it felt like we took on too much. Building something like this takes time, energy, and a lot of tough decisions, and not all of them are easy.[/p][p][/p][p]We’re still working on the game. We haven’t given up. But to be honest, there are good days and bad days. Sometimes we doubt ourselves. Sometimes we wonder whether all this effort will end up with players not liking the game anyway, given that it's a AAA game made by 3 people. Those thoughts are normal. They’re human.[/p][p]On top of that, each of us has a life outside the project. We have families. Some of us became fathers this year. Life doesn’t stop just because you’re making a game. Bills still need to be paid, responsibilities stay, and taking care of your loved ones always comes first. This Christmas, let yourself remember that what truly matters is sharing time with family, loved ones, and friends, whether you are together in person or connecting through your favorite games.[/p][p]Despite all of that, we keep going.[/p][p]We truly hope that 2026 will be the year when we can finally give something back to you, something that feels honest, earned, and worth the wait. Not a rushed gift, but something made with care, even if the road to get there is not always smooth.[/p][p]We’ve noticed your requests for more frequent updates on the game's progress. We’ll do our best to improve. The reality is, it all comes down to time. Time is something we often don’t value until it starts to run out.[/p][p]Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and for sticking with us through the hard parts. It means more than you might think.[/p][p]Happy Holidays. We’ll keep trying. [/p][p]~The Team[/p]

Ultimate Hunting® - DevLog #5: Sounds

[p]Hello everyone,[/p][p]Development is moving forward every day, step by step. Today, let’s talk about sounds and the important role they play in the game. Our team is small, so creating some elements takes us a bit more time.[/p][p]
Remember to turn on the volume while watching videos!
[/p][h2]Ambient Sounds[/h2][p]The African demo map is more than just a landscape; it’s a living world where every sound matters. The desert, savanna, and riverbank all sound different. The wind carries grains of sand, and a distant insect buzzing can build tension better than music.[/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p]See those bushes? Move carefully; the rustle of leaves can reveal your position and scare off nearby animals. Step on dry branches, and every crack might mean something hears you before you notice.[/p][p]At night, the world of sound becomes even richer: cicadas, echoes from the bush, and finally that eerie, unsettling silence.[/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p]Near rivers, you’ll hear mosquitoes, especially after dark. Around animal droppings, flies start buzzing, a subtle hint that game might be nearby.[/p][p]You can watch and compare how different surfaces sound in the video below.[/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][h2]Animal Sounds[/h2][p]In the demo, you’ll encounter three animal species, each with its own set of sounds. The hardest one to find wasn’t the biggest animal; it was the warthog. The sounds of a wild boar or domestic pig might seem similar, but they don’t reflect the character of this tough African fighter. For example, we can find 50+ sounds of the Blue Wildebeest calling, but most are too low-quality to use in the game.[/p][p]Our sounds mainly come from paid libraries, or we try to create them from scratch, but this is difficult and time-consuming. Some may think there is nothing complicated about it - you don’t need many sounds, and I agree. [/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]Most of the animals will need key sound types: communication, warning, response to a call, fear, pain, and death. For particular species, we’ve also added charge and agitation sounds, depending on what triggers the animal’s emotions.[/p][p][/p][h2]Weapon Sounds[/h2][p]Every weapon has its own character and sound, depending on its configuration. Change the caliber or barrel tip, and you’ll hear the difference. Add the small details that make it feel real: reloading clicks, breath control, the sound of an empty magazine, or slow, focused aiming.[/p][p]We spent time discussing what a gunshot should sound like. Some wanted a powerful boom, others preferred a more restrained tone. In the end, we added a “Gunfire Gain” slider to the audio settings so players can fine-tune the intensity of gunfire to their liking.[/p][p]And if you ever fire inside a confined space, like a cave… well, you’ll find out for yourself what happens![/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][h2]Other Sounds[/h2][p]Beyond the obvious, the game is filled with subtle effects that create the complete experience: the character’s breathing, clothes rustling while crawling, an engine humming, a trailer creaking, or the distinctive click when using an item. Every slight sound has its purpose.[/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p]We also included mission effects, NPC voices, and ambient reactions that respond dynamically to the player’s actions. This way, the world feels alive, breathing, reacting, and drawing you in.[/p][p][/p][p]We are happy with the sounds so far. There is always room for improvement, but we are doing as well as we can with our small team.[/p][p][/p][p]Regards,[/p][p]UH Team [/p]

Ultimate Hunting® - DevLog #4: Gear Overview

DevLog #4 – In-Game Gear & Equipment

Hey everyone, it’s Rafal here with another Ultimate Hunting DevLog! This time, we’re showcasing the gear that will make your hunts both strategic and fun.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

First and foremost, we’d like to thank everyone for your patience. We know development can feel slow, but please remember that our “team” is really just two people and a part-timer - so fewer than three of us in total! It’s tough to even call ourselves a proper team compared to other hunting game studios, but we’re doing our absolute best to bring you an amazing experience! Enough of excuses; let’s dive right in!

[h2]Firearms & Bows[/h2] We’re packing a full arsenal for every situation: pump-action shotguns (Springer S12), side-by-side shotguns (Cavia 282), semi-auto shotguns (Bushfire 300), bolt-action rifles (e.g., Buckfear 150, Jägerson Model 350, 416 Rigby “Cape Sleeper”), lever action rifle (Wester 12), semi-auto rifles (Arlon-15, Cruiser Deluxe), revolvers (Ocelot, Goliath B500), and of course bows or crossbows (e.g. Venom VP-70 or Harpy).

Even better, you can customize them: swap calibers, tweak muzzles, stocks, and optics. This is crucial for ethical, efficient takedowns - using a monster magnum on a rabbit is possible but is it ethical? Using a light varmint round on an elephant most likely won’t end well, as you will just make it mad, which can result in getting knocked out in the game! :)

[h2]Hunting Accessories[/h2] Your hunt isn’t complete without the right extras. Optics (binoculars, scopes, spotting scopes) help you scout from afar or make a precise hit, while specialized ammo ensures the perfect match between weapon and prey.

[h2]Calls & Baits & Scents[/h2] Fancy a patient approach?
Sound callers - like the Duck Whistling Caller or Predator Jackrabbit - will coax curious animals into range.
Baits let you draw animals to a specific location over time - drop some feed, hide, and wait.

Or go with scent lures (urines) to mask your smell and lure animals closer. Each species responds differently, so picking the right scent or bait is half the fun!

[h2]Clothing & Strategy[/h2] Don’t forget camo and apparel. Blending in with the terrain can make or break your hunt. Pair that with the right calls, bait tactics, and ammo, and you’ll see why Ultimate Hunting is shaping up to be a truly authentic experience.

That’s all for now—pick your favorite gear, plan your strategy, and get ready for the hunt of a lifetime. We’ll be back soon with more exciting updates. In the meantime, keep those eyes peeled and your barrels clean!

Demo Version

As we continue the development, we are happy to announce that we just turned on Steam Page for Ultimate Hunting (Demo). It will be a small cut of the African map with 3 animals to hunt. We would like to hear your feedback & suggestions about the game so we can fix/change/adjust things that were clunky, bad, or bugged. Right now, we don't have an exact date for the Demo version, but we aim for early summer.

Feel free to Wishlist & Follow page so you are up to date with the released date of the Demo.
