Patch version 0.6.3b (Beta Branch)

This beta branch patch brings the new enemy content into Singularity mode and reorganizes how singularity maps are laid out. The new map separates content from each region into sections, creating a better feeling of progression and cohesiveness.

The patch also addresses some additional bug reports and balance feedback, and adds a few new enemies into the act 5 fray.

  • Restructured map generation for Singularity mode to progress more logically and have the harder, later act enemies added in sequential sections instead of all mixed together
  • Added some new enemies to a few Act 5 encounters
  • Changed Gambler's "Rollin Doubles" quest to not require specific doubles
  • Reworked Gambler skills again to make him more active and have more use for MP. Gambler's previous Stun Grenade skill can also be swapped in/out if desired
  • Adjusted some of Dark Knight's skill modifier values
  • Reworked Bard's Inspirational skill
  • Changed Steam Engineer's Steam Mech skill to give 50% increased attributes at lv 3, instead of reduced stun/sleep damage taken
  • Drone Parts relic will no longer summon lower tier drones, based on completed acts/singularity tiers
  • Increased Consecrate/Desecrate skill MP cost a little
  • Continuing to expand pre-battle banter related to new heroes
  • Reworked Big Blob boss's split mechanic to always happen in-between turns, to make it more consistent, and address some bugs
  • Fixed Juggernaut's Kinetic Barrier effect not being removed properly if brought to exactly 0 block remaining
  • Fixed Battle Hardened distortion incorrectly applying to MP Healing
  • Fixed Dan's Bottle relic to make sure it only applies on attacks to enemy
  • Fixed a couple of rare crashes

Patch version 0.6.2b (Beta Branch)

This beta branch patch addresses some additional bug reports and balance feedback, and adds a couple of new requested features.

[h2]Changelog for version 0.6.2b[/h2]
  • Damage blocked by shield type effects now shows up in battle as a grey number with a shield icon, improving feedback for damage dealt vs missed/dodged
  • Added an "unbind" option for infinite relics in Chronicle mode. A hero's intrinsic relics and non-infinite relics cannot be unbound.
  • Gamber's Roll Dice skill now uses Technique for all damage calculations, including Meteor Strike, Void Blast, and Break Bones effects
  • Buffed Gambler's Card Throw attack and replaced his Stun Grenade skill with a new "Set Dice" skill
  • Buffed Flame Fist enemy's Flame Rush fire damage over time effect
  • Shake Off skill healing reduced by 50% for King Terror boss
  • Fixed certain healing skills not working properly with Guru's Pacifist lv 3 ability. Only healing over time type effects should now be excluded
  • Fixed some bugs with Big Blob's split ability not always releasing its imprisoned target properly
  • Fixed Covering Fire and Fire Team skills attempting to activate and showing up in battle log even when at zero ammo
  • Fixed crash when a summoned hero uses Whiskey or Rum skill
  • Fixed Blacksmith's Flamecoat on-hit damage triggering counter attacks
  • Fixed Combat Bot's K1-LL Beam skill being able to miss

Patch version 0.6.1b (Beta Branch)

This beta branch patch addresses some bug reports and balance feedback for the recent Act 5 beta release.

  • Added some prebattle banter interactions for some of the new heroes
  • Added Act 4/5 victory stats and expanded favorite heroes to top 5 in the Hall of Records
  • Self-targeted AoE skills used by a summon will now use their summoner's party position as the center when hitting allies. This also fixes a couple crashes with Cop's summon ability
  • Taunt cannot be used by summons
  • Pursuer, Angel, and Fallen reclassified to Anomaly type
  • Reduced Space Marine's Pulse Rifle max damage from 60 to 50 per hit
  • Shifted some attribute points from Agility to Speed for Juggernaut
  • Reduced Technique bonuses on Bard's Inspirational and Master of Song skills from 25% to 20%, and turn delay decrease on Master of Song from 35% to 25%
  • Rebalanced a few Act 5 enemy comps, and generally limited them to only have one WRDN bot
  • Void Zombie enemy's skills buffed/modified
  • Changed Chill Fist enemy's passive from Flash Freeze to an armor skill, and buffed its Snow Plow attack
  • Soul Fist enemy now counter attacks with its primary attack
  • Reduced R3X Bot enemy's stun damage
  • Buffed or added various Act 5 boss skills
  • Increased act 5 enemy level by 1
  • Enemy HP increased a little in general for the highest level enemies, with an extra HP modifier for hard/insane difficulties on acts 3 and up
  • Decreased/removed player "pity" bonuses to hit chance and dodge chance for hard/insane difficulties
  • Fixed Hacker form Claire's Versatile quest not properly tracking stats across battles
  • Fixed Gambler's Uncanny Luck quest not properly tracking dodge requirement across battles
  • Fixed Space Marine's Xeno Hunter quest capping out at 6 instead of the required 10
  • Fixed Plague Fist enemy's Plague Punch skill being able to punch downed targets
  • Fixed Gunslinger's Combat Roll charge cost not resetting between battles
  • Fixed some counter attack skills not correctly applying added damage modifiers
  • Fixed one act 5 elite fight not not correctly being labeled as Extreme Danger
  • Fixed interface bug when cancelling out of selecting one of Space Marine's drones
  • Fixed a few typos in Act 5 content

Version 0.6.0b Release: Future Frontier (Beta Branch)

The long-time-coming Act 5 is finally here! The Act 5 update is now available to be downloaded in the Beta Branch, where we will be testing and refining as we work towards a stable release. There are still a few things we will be expanding on or adding with this act, but we are excited to get this release out to everyone to play with the new content and give feedback. [h3]How do I download the Beta Branch?[/h3]
Opting into a Beta branch is easy on Steam. Simply right click Time Break Chronicles in your Library, select Properties, and then click "Betas." From there you can select the Beta branch from the dropdown, and Steam will download the files for you. You do not need to enter a beta access code.



[h2]Changelog for version 0.6.0b[/h2]
There's quite a bit of new content for you to explore in this update. We'll separate it out below, into a couple categories.

[h3]New Content[/h3]
  • A new act, with new enemy types, relics, encounters, and continuation of Claire's story
  • A new form for Claire to unlock after completing Act 4
  • 15 new heroes to find and unlock, bringing the total available to 94!
  • New heroes also added as unlocks in Singularity mode

[h3]Balance Changes/QOL/Bugfixes[/h3]
  • Added a turn counter to highest-length stack's duration on effect icon mouseover tooltip
  • Reworked Viking somewhat to have better synergy from his Berserker and Raider passives
  • Changed Shaolin Robe relic effect to directly reduce damage taken based on discipline instead of buffing toughness
  • Zeke's Boots relic bonus increased from 25% to 35%
  • Gamma Shard relic bonus increased from 15% to 20%
  • Reduced cost of Gravity Time Break skill
  • Return Fire skill updated to work off of any source of Protect from the same character
  • Protect can no longer target somebody already protected
  • Buffed a few Distortion effects that were less desirable, and added a couple of new ones
  • Hit chance changed to range from 1%-99% instead of 0-100, crit chance base floor 5%. This allows pct chance modifiers to have an effect even at very low base values.
  • Mathias' class name changed to Steam Engineer
  • Fixed a possible rare crash in certain situations when leaving a battle
  • Fixed Duality of Being passive giving 35% bonus instead of listed 25% for lv 2/3
  • Fixed Marine's Covering Fire ability not correctly reporting hit chance as 100 in battle
  • Fixed Throw Spear skill's Lv 2 effect adding 50% bonus to all critical damage instead of just Throw Spear
  • Fixed Meditate skill applying its lv 3 effect at lv 1
  • Fixed Daywalker passive not correctly nullifying stun and sleep damage at lv 2
  • Fixed Drex's Reassemble not skipping a turn at lv 1 as listed
  • Fixed Eldar's Scroll relic applying its effect to Spell skills instead of Debuff skills as listed
  • Fixed Mind Master's Mind Mirror skill being able to activate even if the Mind Master could not act
  • Fixed Combust passive's animation not respecting photosensitive setting in a screen flash effect
  • Fixed a few no-dodging type skills that visually reported miss chance instead of dodge chance in battle
  • Fixed bug where boss onDeath effect could trigger multiple times when killing still living minions, causing various minor issues
  • Fixed resist stacks being used before resist related passives were processed
  • Fixed a few text issues on some quest descriptions
  • Fixed effect icon hover text not always being parsed correctly for character names, etc
  • Fixed visual bug where some overlapping tiles would be offset 1px too low
  • Fixed misalignment of Wisdom attribute text in status menu
  • Fixed a few effects that could potentially cause a crash if used in a 3-tier nested battle encounter (these are not common)
  • Fixed a few relic descriptions for clarity or consistency
  • Fixed some relic filter tags that were missing or incorrect

Finally, as mentioned, there are a few things to be aware of that are remaining to be finished up in future patches:
  • Steam achievements have been added for the Act 5 bosses, but hero rescue achievements will not be added until the stable release. These achievements can be awarded retroactively once they are added just by loading into the game and visiting town.
  • New hero lore/backstory blurb content has not been added yet.
  • Pre-battle banter content for new heroes has not been added yet.
  • For Singularity, the new heroes are available to unlock, but the new enemy encounters will be added in a future patch. Singularity's tiers will need a bit of a rework to fit the new content in a logical way.
  • Fixes for a few outstanding bug reports that require more investigation are still in-progress


Patches will likely be coming fairly regularly in the coming weeks as we get the additional content done and respond to bug reports, etc.

Developer Update: Upcoming Version 0.6 (Act 5)

It's been a while since we've posted a developer update outside of our Discord (which you can join at https://discord.gg/m9MAfrP) but we've been hard at work finishing up the final bits and piece of the Act 5 release. We were hoping to be done with the beta release of 0.6 by the end of February, but obviously didn't quite reach that mark.

Still, we're now nearing the end of the dev cycle for the next release, as all of the next set of heroes and their abilities, relics, animations, and related art/sound are complete! We're now working on finishing up the last bits of the new boss fights and story encounters for Act 5, while testing and tweaking balancing, and should have a beta release build in the near future.

[h2]New Hero Teaser[/h2]
We posted this teaser of upcoming hero silhouettes a few weeks ago in the Discord server, but here it is for those of you on Steam to check out and get your imaginations going:



This set will bring us up to 94 heroes. The remaining set to reach 100 will be in hero packs leading into the sixth act, Claire's final showdown with the Ancient Cult. The completion of Act 6 would then bring us into the full 1.0 release!
