Biomes Update

There have been major updates to the appearances of the deciduous forests, coniferous forests, jungles, and meadows. They now have bigger trees, denser vegetation, and different grasses. The appearances of beaches, badlands, and the ocean have changed to a lesser degree. The updating of the biomes will be a periodic and ongoing process.

Playable Aquatic Dinosaurs

The player can now play as 12 new aquatic dinosaurs. The Ammonite, Anomalocaris, Cameroceras, Dunkleosteus, Elasmosaurus, Helicoprion, Ichthyosaurus, Leedsichthys, Megalodon, Mosasaurus, Onchopristis, and Xenacanthus.

The game has been slightly optimized. The game's frames per second has been doubled in some cases.

The game's startup time has been improved.

Changes:
  • Reduced the cost of unlocking dinosaur species.

  • Reduced the cost of starting a new dinosaur at advanced growth stages.

  • Dinosaurs are now worth more experience points when killed. This should help players gain advancements more quickly.

  • Dinosaur growth has been adjusted to not grow as much when smaller. They'll be halfway grown when reaching the sub-adult stage, not 3/4ths of the way grown.

  • Compsognathus' movement speed has been reduced. It was a little challenging to control it while turning sometimes.

  • Dinosaurs go into a paused state when they are out of range, increasing the game's FPS.


Fixes:
  • Fixed an issue with the camera and swimming underwater.

  • If the player's dinosaur is in a pack when they return to the main menu, they will now leave their pack.

  • Pack followers that are eating will no longer turn towards their leader until they are done eating.

Environment Changes

Changes:
  • Replaced all of the ground textures with new textures.

  • Modified the badlands biome.

  • Modified the grass of the meadows, deciduous forests, coniferous forests, and jungles.

Update 0.4.65.18

Changes:
  • Herbivores now restore three times as much health from eating.

  • Each dinosaur species' dominance value has been changed. Now there is a new order in the food-chain.

Drinking Saltwater

Changes:
  • Dinosaurs can now drink saltwater but it gives them food poisoning each time they take a drink.

  • Amphibious dinosaurs no longer get food poisoning from drinking saltwater.
