Environment Overhaul

🔹Each map has received an environment overhaul. Each map features a major biome, and 2 sub-biomes all with variations on their environmental asset usage and distribution.

🔹A lot of the vegetation models have been replaced with new models.

🔹The Prairie map has been added to the game.

🔹The ocean's water is all new and features underwater rendering including depth-based shading, the deeper you go the darker it gets.

🔹Dinosaurs, vegetation, and objects were 10 times too large. This was throwing off distance calculations for all sorts of features. This has been corrected and many adjustments have been made to accommodate this change in size.

🔹Now, most of the time, smaller dinosaurs shouldn't push larger dinosaurs around.

🔹Some improvements to the nest-based dinosaur spawner have been made to improve herd/family spawning.

🔹Some improvements to the biome-based dinosaur spawner have been made.

🔹Dinosaur footstep sound frequency has been reduced.

🔹Dinosaur call sound frequency has been reduced.

🔹A new custom resource spawning system has been implemented for spawning edible fish, plants, and trees during runtime.

🔹Archelon land speed has increased by 30%.

🔹Megalodon's extremely quick speed has been fixed.

🔹Megalodon's swimming animations no longer adds to its movement speed.

🔹Dinosaur overhead healthbars can now be seen from twice as far when enabled.

🔹Edible trees now have more food on them.

🔹You can now change the game's starting map in the Game Options. Use this in case the memory is too high after switching from the starting map to your map of choice or if you just want to get into your favorite map quicker.

🔹Rain particles are no longer generated when the camera is underwater.

Update 0.9.102.3

🔹In the game audio options menu you can change the speaker mode to use 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound if you have the correct speaker setup for it. Surround sound works for dinosaur roars, footsteps, eating sounds, and attack sounds. Ambient sounds and music are not surround-enabled.

🔹Smelling highlights/outlines look a little better now.

🔹The Unity Engine has been updated to 2020.3.23f1.

🔹Your swimming dinosaurs no longer turn just from looking around while moving, you now have to hold right-click in order to turn the direction your camera is looking. Moving left and right with the movement keys still works without needing to hold right-click.

🔹Tutorial popups should no longer be popping up again after you click "Do Not Show Again".

Standard Rendering Pipeline

🔹The game has switched from using Unity's High Definition Rendering Pipeline to using the Standard Rendering Pipeline. I didn't have enough expertise or knowledge to get the High Definition Rendering Pipeline to look good so I switched to the rendering pipeline I could get better graphics with.

🔹The game's gamma levels have changed because of switching to the Standard Rendering Pipeline. The new default value is 50%. You may need to manually adjust the gamma slider to get the best level of brightness.

🔹The motion blur camera affect is now set to off by default.

🔹Now you have to click the apply button to get the view distance gameplay options to take affect.

🔹Fixed a glitch where you had to readjust your audio settings every time you started the game.

🔹Added a new graphics option to enable or disable volumetric lighting.

🔹Added a new graphics option to enable ACES tonemapping (Linear tonemapping is used if this is turned off).

🔹Added a new graphics option to adjust the strength of the Linear or ACES tonemapping.

🔹The deciduous forest has new grass, plants, and trees.

🔹The prairie has new grass and plants.

🔹The coniferous forest has new grass, plants, and trees.

🔹The desert has new cactus.

🔹The edible plants for the prairie, deciduous forest, coniferous forest, and desert have been replaced with different models.

🔹The edible trees have been replaced with different models.

🔹Edible fish objects have new models.

🔹AI dinosaurs can now spawn on the beach.

🔹AI dinosaurs no longer walk through trees or boulders.

🔹The player's dinosaur was not always making their call noise when they pressed the key for playing their call noise.

🔹Smaller AI dinosaurs should now be quieter and larger AI dinosaurs should now be louder when calling.

🔹Ambient wind sounds are once again playing in the desert while the wind level is greater than 0.

Gameplay Options v1

🔹There is now a new tab in the game options called 'Gameplay'. It contains two different sets of options.

🔹The first new set of options is the 'Spawning' options. These sliders control how many random dinosaurs spawn around the map. When you change and apply this value you'll need to reload the current map in order for the changes to take affect. When the slider is at 100% that means 1000 creatures of that type will be able to spawn randomly. When the slider is at 0% that means that no creatures of that type will be able to spawn randomly. The default value for terrestrial creatures is 300. The default value for aerial creatures is 50. The default value for amphibious creatures is 25. The default value for aquatic creatures is 300. Changing this value can affect the game's FPS.

🔹The second new set of options controls how far away you can see dinosaurs and edible plants. Changing the view distance for dinosaurs can have a big impact on FPS because the dinosaurs are coming out of their inactive state and are becoming active, wandering around, looking for food, etc.

🔹The build now uses the 'Default' compression method instead of the 'LZ4' compression method. This was done to reduce patch size and enable Steam to determine which chunks of game data need to be downloaded for patches. If the game crashes on startup after this update please uninstall and reinstall the game, that should fix the problem.

Aquatic AI Reversal

🔹Aquatic dinosaurs should now turn around and swim back out to sea if they come too close to land.
