Saved Dinosaur Progress

  • The dinosaur selection screen has been recreated.

  • The player's dinosaur progress is now saved so they can play that dinosaur during other play sessions and pick up where they left off.

  • Once the player gets a species to grow to a new growth stage (juvenile, sub-adult, adult), that growth stage is unlocked permanently. Unlocked growth stages can be selected when creating a new dinosaur to advance to that stage from the beginning. Using this feature costs evolution points.

  • Dinosaurs gain experience points when they reach a new growth stage. Experience points can be used to gain damage, health, and speed bonuses.

Changes:

  • A dinosaur can only have experience spent on increasing stats if they are alive.

  • Dinosaur's no longer animate walking or running one time when they spawn.

  • Tier 2 species cost 1,000 evolution points each to unlock permanently. Tier 3 species cost 2,500 evolution points each to unlock permanently. Tier 4 species cost 5,000 evolution points each to unlock permanently.

  • Dinosaurs now take longer to grow because their progress is no longer lost after each session.

  • Insects no longer spawn around hatchling and juvenile dinosaurs.

  • Twice as many insects spawn around nests.

Update 0.4.57.5

  • At the start of the game terrestrial and amphibious dinosaurs are no longer spawning in water.

Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed a glitch where dinosaurs' positions were glitching while swimming at the surface of deep water.

Stat Customization

  • The player can now use their dinosaur's experience to increase their dinosaur's damage, health, and movement speed. This is accessed through the Stats button in the gameplay menu.

  • Kills has been renamed to experience. The UI helper text reflects this change. The experience number displayed is "Current Experience / Total Accumulated Experience". Current experience will be used to improve your dinosaur's stats and other advancements. Total accumulated experience is used to determine pack leadership capabilities, like Kills used to. When killing a dinosaur, the killer gains experience according to the base experience rewarded of the killed dinosaur multiplied by the growth stage of the killed dinosaur (stages 1 through 4).
