Tlaxcalan heavy warriors

Greetings, travelers!

Are you ready to dive deep into the history of Mictlan?
Perhaps this info will be helpful you in your adventures. Today we will show you the progress of creating our Tlaxcalan heavy warriors.

Did you know that the Tlaxcalan army faced Cortés’ expedition on multiple occasions?

In one of the retellings by Bernal Díaz del Castillo, he mentions how the Tlaxcalan warriors attacked an expedition and tried to make the Spaniards break ranks, in order to fight them more easily.

The result was several injured Spaniards and a dead horse, which would then be torn apart and offered as a sacrifice to the gods.

We are launching our Kickstarter campaign, with a minimum of 20K backers (have you registered yet? It only takes a minute!)

Nao (ships)

Did you know that the nao were an evolution of the coca ships that, at the same time, descended from the Viking knarr merchant ships?

The nao were born from the necessity of making new discoveries during the trips made by the European explorers on their routes to Asia, Africa and America.

The caravels, ships used by Christopher Columbus on his voyage to the West Indies, despite being suitable for long-distance maritime voyages, began to fall into disuse due to the demands for bigger cargos and better ways of transportation for the resources, demands which became increasingly more pressing. This situation led to the creation of new and improved boats, making the bow and stern castles wider and higher, as well as providing them with a greater load capacity.

In this WIP you can see three models of the Spanish nao´s, based on paintings of the time as well as contemporary reconstructions.

It would help us immensely if you decide to sign up to our Kickstarter campaign.

Spanish Heavy Armor

Greetings, Mictlan community!

Mictlan is becoming an international community that attracts more and more Latin gamers across the world. We can only thank you for your support by continuing to show you the progress of our team!

Today, we are presenting to you this concept art for the Hispanic heavy armor.

According to chroniclers that we have mentioned in previous posts, such as López de Gomara or Bernardino de Sahagún, the Spaniards arrived on the continent with heavy armor (although the situation was different for each company, as it must be remembered that the soldiers who arrived were part of private companies).

Specialized authors indicate that the use of full armor was limited, as a simple cuirass or chainmail were more frequently worn.
