Hotfix v0.14.8.09

Thank you for sending in bug reports and feedback via the ESC -> Help menu ingame, Steam forums, and Discord. Here are a few fixes that address some player feedback!

v0.14.8.09 Patch Notes

  • Fixed connections for electricity not working properly (if you had an existing save file with them, they should load properly now)
  • Fixed electrical connectors not unlocking when researching the Electrical Generator (you should now see it in your electronics lab)
  • Fixed Snowville bunker not loading in properly in some scenarios
  • Fixed some errant colliders in Kazai Castle from our previous optimization push
  • Fixed camera being stuck in Bellstalker Mountain in multiplayer when triggering certain dialogue
  • Fixed snow not stopping when touching walls and floors due to previous optimization
  • Fixed rare case where you could see some props load in when you shouldn't in certain areas
  • Fixed some rare code exceptions

Hello shopkeepers!
We hope you're having a great week on the Island. We just wanted to resolve a couple of small issues before the weekend. The main one being Freda's house on McQuillan Ranch not rendering properly.
If you had issues with the house previously, that should be fixed now!

  • Fixed an issue preventing crafting employees from crafting more than one item per station if Electronics Labs were involved

  • Fixed the Reading Light meshes not rendering properly
  • Fixed Wolf and other NPCs not having proper hitboxes when attacking
  • Fixed some code exceptions

  • Optimized the meshes in McQuillan Ranch to improve performance
  • Optimized the batching for some props based on data from save files sent in by players
  • Reduced some grass density and optimized foliage near Pop Pop's shop plot

We noticed that Steam's automatic pricing for Poland was disproportionately high, so we've manually adjusted it to increase accessibility for our future Polish players.

This is a small hotfix to resolve a few rarer issues that we've found. We apologize for the frequent post-patch hotfixing that we try our hardest to avoid.

  • Fixed case where nav mesh wasn't properly loading and unloading on async thread, causing some AI to get stuck per chunk
  • Significantly improved networked ragdoll stability
  • Slightly optimized melee blood trail VFX
  • Improved Seed Swap Messenger NPC quest marker spawning
  • Fixed catfish weapon damage being too low
  • Restored some missing preplaced items in the world that didn't show up due to an item optimization
  • Minor visual update to Jones Fishingman's house
  • Armor Stand can now be restocked by employees
  • Fixed Wolf and other NPCs not having proper hitboxes when attacking
  • Fixed some code exceptions

This is a small hotfix to resolve a few more issues that were reported over the weekend.

  • Moved the Basic Compass and Portable Map unlocks in the Research tree a few nodes earlier
  • Slightly reduced the fire rate and increased the reload time for Zena's AA42 Shotgun
  • Changed some medium weapon attacks to feel more stable
  • Added a notification to tell you when an Employee places something in your inventory
    This happens when they are holding an item and navigating to a container and that container becomes invalid, most often because it gets unloaded. Instead of deleting the item, they will place it in your inventory. However, these items appearing in your inventory were slightly confusing if you didn't know where they came from. Hopefully this notification helps clarify things.
  • Updated the wording for the Mystery of Research and The Runes quests to say the quest giver will contact you when they are ready to continue
    This text is to help clarify that these are quests we plan to add objectives to in future updates. This text previously stated that the quests will continue in the 1.0 release, but additions to these quests may come sooner.
  • Rebalanced jump attacks of medium pole and trinket items to be faster and have more airtime


[h3]🛠️ General Fixes[/h3]
  • Fixed case where nav mesh of shops weren't being saved properly
  • Fixed the Piñon Pine Trees losing their colliders after being hit
  • Fixed an issue where re-pooled enemies continually have their drops stack on death. You should no longer get multiples of many items when repeatedly killing enemies
  • The Catching A Friend side quest will now complete properly and can't be completed multiple times
  • The Pressed for Success side quest now properly rewards a rune on completion. If you've already completed this quest, talk to Jules again to get the rune
  • Fixed localization support for Zena's AA42 Shotgun
  • Fixed an issue that would cause Zena to drop a guaranteed legendary copy of her AA42 Shotgun
  • The Basic Compass should no longer clip with display trays
  • Fixed an issue reintroduced with v0.14.8 where some enemies could spawn under the floor. This was especially prevalent in the crater area
  • Fixed a few props near the entrance to Snowville that would unload when you got close to them
  • Fixed a case where an NPC's world subtitles could be visible by the player who triggered them when it shouldn't be
  • Fixed the Bamboo Bowl recipe not unlocking properly through Pop Pop's questline
  • Fixed reload time information for gun items being inaccurate
  • Melee attacks are no longer allowed while gliding or ziplining due to animation issues
  • Fixed various localization issues

Hotfix v0.14.8.02

This is a small hotfix to resolve the known issues from the Navigation Update.

We also found some additional optimizations thanks to the data provided by a few players following the Navigation Update. Thank you to everyone who helped report things.

  • Fixed an issue where some preplaced items did not save their health properly after taking damage
  • Addressed some edge cases surrounding killing Eddie right before starting dialogue with him

  • Fixed a collider issue in Kazai Castle
  • Fixed the wolf lunge attack so it no longer moves it on top of boars it is hunting
  • Fixed employee container filters not working as expected
  • Fixed employee table UI not showing employee slots as expected and not being in the right positions
  • Fixed customers not using shopping baskets
  • Fixed rain going through walls and its splash going through ceilings
  • Fixed a case where a haggling employee might leave their cash register instead of remaining at the cash register when they're not supposed to
  • Fixed a rare disconnect exceptions
