Back on the Slopes: The New WRS2 Update Is Here!

Things have been rather quiet around Winter Resort Simulator 2 over the past few months – maybe even a bit too quiet. Many of you have been wondering whether anything was still happening with the game. That’s exactly why we’re here now – to give you an update!

The main reason for the recent silence was the release of SubwaySim 2. Finishing such a large project took a lot out of our team. So we’re even more excited to now return to Winter Resort Simulator 2 with full energy after this intense period.

While we can’t reveal too much about the future of the game just yet, we’re here to deliver something that’s been a long time coming: the official release of Update 16!



At last, the time has come: Update 16 is leaving beta and is now available for all players. Alongside various bug fixes, the update also includes several handy quality-of-life improvements – especially for our modding community.

➡️ Highlights
  • Riedkopfbahn now automatically couples/garages when both sections are open and the same spacing is set.
  • Riedkopfbahn now starts correctly when both sections are coupled.
  • Ski huts operate independently of the time of day.
  • Skiers now only despawn shortly before the area closes – meaning evening skiing is finally possible.
  • MP Join Screen: Clicking on missing mods now leads to the Steam Workshop.
  • A button to prepare all pistes at once.
  • Simuverse rebranding.


➡️ Bugfixes & Improvements
  • Minimap fix for 1440p resolution,
  • Missing switch added to Hexenkessel Berg,
  • Direct button to open log.txt in case of loading errors,
  • AutoStop gameplay setting now only affects the player’s own vehicle,
  • Winch should now tension correctly when joining in MP,
  • Fuel price reduced to €1.50,
  • Bug fix related to upcoming weather situations,
  • Bug fix for SnowGroomer MP synchronisation.


➡️ Modding
  • New API function: EntryLaneWaypoint.isNPCApproaching(),
  • New API function: ModListener.onObjectDeselected,
  • New map option: skiResort.skierUseTerrainOnly for DonChris Ski Hall,
  • RWDefaultConstructor now supports carrierWeight for more realistic sag,
  • Event RWControl:onSoundTriggered() now also includes the CarrierId.

A new BRAND!

After a long time, we have news for you today, and it's for a very special reason: For almost 7 years now, we have been dedicated to developing exciting and technically accurate simulation games. During this time, we have achieved incredible things and have grown in many ways. One particular highlight was the release of WRS in the winter of 2019.

We are even more pleased to announce that we are now incorporating our passion for excellent simulators into our name. From now on, HR Innoways will be known as Simuverse Interactive.



Starting today, we will release all our games under this new name, and Winter Resort Simulator 2 will also undergo a small rebranding.

What is particularly important to us is that despite this change, the same team remains behind the company, and our mission to create top-notch simulation games remains unchanged.

This brings us to the question many of you are probably asking right now:

What's next for WRS?

In the coming weeks, we plan to release a smaller update. We want to fulfill some long-held wishes of the modding community and support some modders with small "quality of life" features. Additionally, there will be some minor bug fixes.

As for the future of WRS, we have many plans - and we can hardly wait until the time comes when we can share more with you. Until then, we ask for a bit more patience. But the good news is: we have not forgotten the game.

Winter Resort Simulator 2 | Update 14

We are happy to announce that we have just released Update 14 to all players. It includes a few important bugfixes and many improvements, in particular for modders!

Feel free to scroll through the comprehensive changelog:

▶️ GENERAL
- Added auto-backups for lua savegames every time when loading (requested by some players)
- Fixed wrong texture on slot #2 for non-Riedstein terrains
- Added /fixAccountingAssets command. This will remove unwanted depreciation costs
- Fixed a bug that could break savegames together with ABM's custom signs mod

- Some multiplayer fixes and better logging
- Added help labels for the in-game object editor
- Removed maintenance cost for winch anchors
- Riedstein default savegame now does not have any unwanted costs, thus much better balanced
- Riedkopfbahn is now less expensive
- Fixed issues with DLCs not being active on savegames by default
- Added Disclaimer line to log.txt so that players are aware that logfiles may include personal data
- Added new loading screen images
- Diesel price adjusted to current market situation (1.80 € per liter)
- Fixed display errors in helpline description texts (all languages affected except for German)

▶️ ROPEWAYS
- Fixed bug with wrong capacity on Riedkopfbahn section 2
- Omega IV-10 D and Omega V now have recolorable grips!

- Riedkopfbahn carrier count now limited to 85 for both sections
- Riedkopfbahn AI now shows status "initializing" directly after building.
- Slow speed button in Riedkopfbahn parking now only affects the currently active section
- Fixed windows on Omega IV-8 LWI
- Fixed issues with Riedkopfbahn AI initialization process.
- Fixed issues with Riedkopfbahn AI on ropeways with extremely short section 1
- Fixed issues with Riedkopfbahn connection track on almost straight ropeways
- Carrier spacings on multiple sections fixed (e.g. for the Sennigratbahn mod)
- Limited carrier count on multiple sections fixed (e.g. for Riedkopfbahn)

▶️ MODDING
- New Lua API functions as per request of a modder: GameControl.setCameraAllowRotZ() and GameControl.getCameraAllowRotZ()
- New Lua API classes as per request of a modder: EntryLaneEnter and EntryLaneLeave
- Renamed data tables of DLC ropeways as preparation for a public version of Lua data tables
- Riedkopfbahn1AI renamed to RiedkopfbahnAI for better clarity.
