Nightfall News: Combating The Unseen

[p]Nightfall,[/p][p][/p][p]We expect Operation Breakout to begin shortly and as such we want to make sure you are updated on all the latest gear you can take into the field. This will be no stroll through the jungle, so to help keep casualties to a minimum, we are authorizing the use of the KV Recluse and several new weapon mods.[/p][p]
The KV Recluse is a medium-range, fully automatic, blowback-operated 9mm compact sub-machine gun inspired by the CZ Scorpion EVO. The new weapon is prioritized for medics and comes standard with a secondary fire mode equipped with Healing Darts.

Our design intent for this weapon was to provide a more realistic alternative weapon in the same tier as the Biomorphic Projector that gives players another option for helping keep their teammates alive.[/p][p]-Geoffrey Richards, Senior Game Designer

The KV Recluse's primary fire deals out plenty of Ballistic damage while afflicting Stumble on whatever threats are coming your way. The default magazine can hold 30 rounds, but be sure to practice good trigger control with this firearm.

The Recluse’s damage as well as DPS is actually a little better than many other Tier 2 weapons, but the fast rate of fire means that it's easy to burn through ammo quickly if not being vigilant. Players can optionally counter this by attaching a Heavy Frame Internal Receiver mod and/or attaching Extended or Drum Magazine mods. [/p][p]-Geoffrey Richards, Senior Game Designer

For medics looking to personalize the Recluse for a range of needs in the field, the KV Recluse can utilize other mods for healing. If the player replaces the Underbarrel Healing Dart mod with the Underbarrel Healing Grenade mod, this gun fires Healing Grenades instead of Healing Darts.[/p][p]
As any seasoned zed hunter already knows, there are times a situation may call for more hurting than healing. If a player replaces the Underbarrel Healing Dart mod with the Underbarrel Laser or Underbarrel UV mod, the gun gains Semi-Auto fire mode of the default 9mm bullets.  This is similar to how the Medic K&W MP6 behaves

    • [p]Invisibility Detection: Reveals invisible Zeds within a detection cone radius, which is modifiable by design through attributes, so its efficacy can scale with mod upgrades.[/p]
    • [p]Team Visibility: Revealed enemies become visible to all teammates, not just the owner of the mod.[/p]
    • [p]Delayed Revelation: The beam must stay on an invisible Zed for a short duration (
    • [p]Lighting: The mod will not illuminate the environment at all and will be purely used to detect and reveal invisible Zeds[/p]

  • [p]Sonar Sight (Optics Mod Slot, Zed Tech)[/p]
    • [p]Increased ADS Accuracy[/p]
    • [p]Increased Zoom Critical Damage[/p]

    • [p]Invisible Zed Highlighting: Invisible enemies viewed through the sight picture while in ADS appear bright and highly visible, making them stand out clearly from the environment.[/p]
    • [p]Non-Revealing: The Sight only allows its owner to see invisible Zeds. It does not remove the invisibility for other players or the owner when not viewed through the sight in ADS.[/p]
    • [p]Smoke Penetration: Functions through smoke, darkness, clouds, fog, and other non-solid environmental obscurants.[/p]
    • [p]Weak Point Highlighting: Weak points on enemies receive additional highlighting to make them stand out even more when viewed through the sight.
