Demo update 0.4.2

Salute forgers,

new update for demo 0,4,2 is now in store and brings following changes:

Blacksmith Legends: Demo 0.4.2

Languages

- added French, Italian, Spanish, Polish and Slovak language
- fixed some discrepancies and missing text in German language

Bug Fixes

- fixed animation being stuck of the cart farmer when switching game speed
- placing doors in workshop will no longer stuck wall torches placement
- exiting build mode will now properly reset to the game speed used when entering it
- entering Recipe removal mode during pause and leaving will no longer unpause it
- Character menu, Town menu will no longer unpause the game and will be properly closed during pause
- Build button should now properly appear in bottom left when returning from World Map
- clicking between Aramoor and Wanborne town offers in pause will no longer cause overlap
- Tier 2 recipes will now properly display in Tier 2 Recipe Book
- Tier 1 recipes can now be assigned to crafting slots 7 and 8
- player can no longer zoom while in In-Game menu
- firing Terrick will no longer cause him to re-appear on the map after re-load
- exiting to Main Menu during the fastest speed should not cause anymore freezes
- canceling an item sale will not re-start it instead
- multiple clicking on item during 'negotiating' phase will no longer exploit multi-sales
- Payday pop-up will now properly return to the previous game speed

New languages are missing few words and first quest translation, so bear with me. As everyone is busy these days, I'm also waiting for the translation. If you can translate it on your own, please, join the BSL discord channel https://discord.gg/CnhggUB and feel free to post me the translation in the proper language.

Prologue version is entering testing phase today. It may take couple of weeks. So I would expect it to be released in July. Will explain in my videos.

Festival Live Stream

Greetings to all blacksmiths out there,

I'm just announcing that my stream will be going live during the Steam Next Festival. I'll also do a video about it, but it's good to know what to expect:

1. We'll talk about my last version of the game and Prologue situation
2. Demo gameplay explained, including all mechanics
3. Roadmap discussion about that is in the works and how much I've achieved so far

It's a lot to discuss, so I'll rather talk about it and then post it here for those who will miss it.

If you're interested in hearing more about the current state of the game and all the future progress and path, be sure to set a reminder for when the stream will go live!

I'll also be sharing new demo update soon, as I have version ready, just want to get some sleep and prepare it so there are no more surprising bugs.

Prologue and Arena update

Dear fans and players,

another week is behind me and I'd like to share some news with you on the progress I've made so far. It's already a year now since I've started working on my game from scratch and really happy which direction the whole project is going for.

What is going to happen soon?

1 Multi-language implementation - I'm currently implementing 5 languages (Chinese, French, Italian, Polish and Slovak) at once, so It's a ton of information being processed. There is no way I can finish it in 1 week so more or less, next week I'll be ready. Would really love to have everything wrapped up before the festival.

2. Steam Next festival - I'll schedule a stream here on Steam during the festival, where I'll explain the gameplay of the demo, my ongoing challenges and pretty much Early Access vision.

3. Prologue - will be updated by the last version of the demo and will begin in a closed beta testing. I'd like to have it released by the end of this month, but don't want to promise anything. Will hope for the best!

4. Arena implementation begun - for those who missed the intel, Early Access will contain new Arena feature, where you will be able to hire a Gladiator, equip him with what you crafted and represent yourself against enemy foe. Combat will be fully 3D action based.

There is a trainer who handles gladiators and will also be available for sparring, so that players can learn some tricks.


Gladiator will be skilled in 8 different combat categories


It won't be just a simple button mash with prizes in the end and actually, the overall reflexes or combat skills won't be the most contributing factor. Your blacksmithing skills will affect overall battle! I will reveal more features soon, as I will progress more with it! :)

I've played a lot with the Depth of Field so that I'll try to make it a bit more realistic, but overall the area is lively and when you come there, it maybe a still scene, though it will be detailed and made you feel immersed.

Demo Update 0.4.1 Alpha

Hello dear blacksmiths,

so after another week of hard work I bring you a lot of bug fixes and updates, that I've been able to fix:

- Apprentice training is now not possible to learn before you get tutorial for it
- Forge Blower collider is not properly calculated during placement of other objects
- Town menu bars and icons are not displayed with the menu, not before
- Stone wall has now collider and is able to be demolished when it's culled
- rapid clicks during erros messages will no longer queue them too many times
- Furnace now can't be placed intersecting the Window
- in-game menu screen now has Resume button to properly indicate more possibilities
- quest Fresh Start should now no longer cause few percentage of players to have 0 customers and only see horeshoe in demand
- tutorial about picking up and selling object properly disappears when item is sold or moved
- Special Quest - Mayor and Bigger Favor showed incorrect UI in some situations
- closing Terrick hiring UI when game is paused will now work properly
- added missing German translation in Quest display choices

Apart from that, I'm slowly preparing for the festival with this demo and prologue. Also, working hard on Arena UI + features for the Gladiators.

I will be able to present you some exciting changes next week, when I'll have more time to prepare some promo materials!

Demo update now live!

Hello dear fans and players,

so I'm excited to share with you, that I've already updated the demo in store to latest version, as it was really old and frankly not representational anymore.

Current version 0.3.9 contains same ending like previous demo. However it is updated by the build feature and everything that I've shared since the last 10 weeks of work so eventually it will be a bit bigger than the previous version.

Currently, there is only one known bug, that it's not yet solved. Sometimes, you may load the save game and one or two walls may be culled inappropriately. Just reload the game if that happens or save it to new save slot and then load it again.

I'd like to know how it runs on your system, as on my mediocre setup, with full details and quality, it's going 60 fps, but can hear my graphic fans working! :D

Demo will be available during the festival and after it ends, Prologue release date should be announced.

Edit: Released a quick 0.4.0 hotfix with some bug fixes that prevented few stuff! Check in-game changelog. :)
