Patch Notes - April 30th, 2024



Here are the Patch Notes for April 30th, 2024.

The following notes are for our upcoming, April 30th, 2024 patch. It is scheduled to begin rolling out on console and PC at roughly 8AM EDT.

Players will be able to purchase the Sissy Wildflower Outfit for $2.99 USD.



For players who have reached Level 99, we have our free Blackout Cosmetics releasing this day, as well. The Level 99 Blackout Cosmetic is an all black version of a characters base outfit with two exceptions, Virginia and Leatherface. Virginia will receive a Blackout Cosmetic in the future. Leatherface will not have an outfit; instead, he will have an all black chainsaw called Oil Slick. Players can expect future Leatherface cosmetics to be similar to that of Nicotero Leatherface. While the whole Family is the focus of our game, Leatherface is the figurehead and the face of the franchise. From the mask to the apron and every stitch between, his cosmetics should reflect that icon status, without altering the elements that make up the whole.

If you're already at level 99, the Blackout cosmetics will be automatically unlocked for you after the update. Thank you for spending so much time in Muerto County with us!



The patch will address the following issues:

PATCH NOTES

Tuned: ‘Fired Up’ Perk
  • We have tuned the ‘Fired Up’ perk accordingly
    - Level 1 - After running out of stamina, there’s a 25% less delay before stamina starts regenerating again
    - Level 2 - After running out of stamina, there’s a 50% less delay before stamina starts regenerating again
    - Level 3 - After running out of stamina, there’s a 75% less delay before stamina starts regenerating again


Tuned: ‘Scout’ Perk
  • We have tuned the ‘Scout’ perk accordingly
    - The perk ‘Scout’ now affects stamina regeneration rate as opposed to melee damage
    - Level 1 - Your movement speed is increased by 5%, but stamina regeneration rate is 20% slower
    - Level 2 - Your movement speed is increased by 10%, but stamina regeneration rate is 15% slower
    - Level 3 - Your movement speed is increased by 15%, but stamina regeneration rate is 10% slower


Tuned: ‘Extra Drip’ Perk
  • We have tuned the ‘Extra Drip’ perk accordingly
    - Level 1 - After using a health item, you will continue to receive 1 HP for 8 seconds
    - Level 2 - After using a health item, you will continue to receive 2 HP for 10 seconds
    - Level 3 - After using a health item, you will continue to receive 3 HP for 12 seconds


Tuned: ‘Empowered’ Perk
  • We have tuned the ‘Empowered’ perk accordingly
    - The perk ‘Empowered’ will no longer award health points after surviving a close encounter
    - Level 1 - After surviving a close encounter, you regain 50% of max stamina
    - Level 2 - After surviving a close encounter, you regain 70% of max stamina
    - Level 3 - After surviving a close encounter, you regain 90% of max stamina


Tuned: ‘Grappler’ Perk
  • We have tuned the ‘Grappler’ perk accordingly
    - Level 1 - Each button tap during a close encounter is worth more towards winning the struggle. Button taps are 10% more effective
    - Level 2 - Each button tap during a close encounter is worth more towards winning the struggle. Button taps are 20% more effective
    - Level 3 - Each button tap during a close encounter is worth more towards winning the struggle. Button taps are 30% more effective


Tuned: ‘Fast Hands’ Perk
  • We have tuned the ‘Fast Hands’ perk accordingly
    - Level 1 - If a Family member is within 10 meters, 25% more progress is awarded for each tap in the lockpicking minigame
    - Level 2 - If a Family member is within 10 meters, 50% more progress is awarded for each tap in the lockpicking minigame
    - Level 3 - If a Family member is within 10 meters, 75% more progress is awarded for each tap in the lockpicking minigame


Fixed: ‘Fast Hands’ Perk Functionality
  • We have fixed an issue where players with ‘Fast Hands’ equipped were being awarded additional progress during the lockpicking minigame, regardless of Family Member proximity
  • ‘Fast Hands’ will now properly trigger only when a Family Member is within 10 meters


Fixed: ‘Rescue Medic’ Perk
  • We’ve fixed the issue where the perk ‘Rescue Medic’ would not proc when Virginia uses Boon with Level 3 “Powder Cloud heals Victims 3 points per second while inside cloud” equipped on her ability tree (this is her middle route).
    - ‘Rescue Medic’ is described as, “healing others adds 50%/70%/100% more health to your target, while simultaneously healing you a random amount.”
  • Now, ‘Rescue Medic’ works in tandem with her Boon ability at Level 3


Fixed: ‘Medical Benefits’ Perk
  • Similar to the issue described above, we’ve fixed the problem where the perk ‘Medical Benefits’ would not trigger with Virginia’s Level 3 Boon
  • ‘Medical Benefits’ is described as, “Healing a fellow Victim also heals yourself. The amount of health received will be 40%/60%/80% of total healing applied to your teammate.”


Fixed: ‘Rough Cut’ Perk
  • We have fixed an issue where Leatherface’s perk ‘Rough Cut’ was not activating properly all the time
  • The perk will now activate properly for all chainsaw attack types


Fixed: ‘Headstart’ Perk
  • We have fixed an issue where Danny’s perk ‘Headstart’ was incorrectly highlighting fuses and valves for all Victims.
  • Now when active, fuse and valve highlights will only be visible to the perk holder


Fixed: ‘Security Pins’ and Cook’s Locks
  • We have fixed the issue where the perk ‘Security Pins’ would not apply to Cook’s locks when another Family member would interact with it (unlocking/locking it)
  • ‘Security Pins’ works as follows: added locks are 10%/30%/50% harder to unlock for Victims.


Fixed: Cook Padlock Visibility on Slaughterhouse
  • We have fixed an issue where a padlock placed on the Slaughterhouse metal door was not always visible to Cook when using his Family Focus Ability


Fixed: Bone Scraps and Nugget
  • We fixed a bug that would let a Victim keep their bone scrap when stabbing Nugget
  • Now, when stabbing Nugget, the bone scrap will be consumed


Fixed: Virginia’s Localization
  • We have fixed the issue where Virginia's tutorial, her description, perk names, and related content were not localized when switching to different languages
  • Now, localization for all languages will be present

Fixed: Virginia’s Skill Tree

  • We have fixed the issue where multiple paths in Virginia’s Skill Tree were blocked off with white squares
  • Players will now be able to access all paths of Virginia’s Skill Tree


Fixed: Virginia’s Cosmetics
  • We have fixed Virginia's cosmetics not unlocking despite players meeting requirements
  • Virginia’s cosmetics will now start to unlock as normal when milestones are reached


Fixed: Virginia’s Tutorial
  • There was an issue where players who purchased Virginia were unable to access her tutorial
  • Now, players who purchased Virginia will be able to unlock and view her tutorial


Fixed: Trace Chemicals Perk
  • We fixed an issue where powder tables were not highlighting for Virginia with Trace Chemicals equipped
  • Trace Chemicals Description: Powder Collection points within 2.5m/5m/10m range are highlighted for Virginia when equipped


Fixed: Leatherface Rev/Stun Bypass
  • We fixed an exploit where Leatherface players could use the chainsaw rev to bypass a door stun animation
  • Leatherface players will now experience the expected stun animation from doors, regardless of rev


Fixed: Sissy’s Bane Ability
  • We fixed an issue where Sissy’s poison clouds were not affecting Victims through Barricades, Crawl Spaces, and Gaps.
  • Sissy’s Bane Ability will now traverse and affect through Barricades, Crawl Spaces, and Gaps.


Fixed: Family Stun Overlay
  • We fixed an issue where Family players weren’t seeing the black smoke overlay after being stunned by a door that was previously closed
  • After being stunned by a door that was closed, Family players will now see the black smoke overlay


Fixed: Virginia Voice Lines
  • We fixed an issue where voice lines were not present for Virginia when escaping
    - Now when successfully escaping as Virginia, proper voice lines will be present
  • We have fixed an issue where the incorrect voice over would play when Virginia was killed during the intro cinematic
    - She will now have the correct voice over present
Fixed: Coagulant Perk Description
  • We have fixed a typo present in Virginia’s Perk Coagulant


Fixed: Stun Proof Family
  • We fixed an issue where Family members were not being stunned when hit with a door


Fixed: Danny Tamper
  • We fixed an issue causing Danny to be unable to use his Tamper ability on a valve
  • Players will now be able to tamper a valve as Danny


Fixed: Danny and Nancy Progression
  • Fixed an issue where Danny and Nancy would not appear in the Progression Menu
  • Players will now see Danny and Nancy in the progression tab under the Progression Menu


Fixed: Various Stuck Spots on The Mill
  • We have fixed the issue where players would get stuck when they crouched into a bush close to the stairs in the Dam Access area
  • We have fixed the issue where Leatherface players would get stuck on spots in the Pump Room wall


Fixed: Wood Storage Collision on The Mill
  • We have fixed an issue where Players were unable to navigate over a sheet of metal in the Wood Storage unless crouching


Fixed: Virginia Voice Over Subtitles
  • We fixed a subtitle typo for Virginia’s Voice Over that would sometimes trigger when approaching a locked door


Fixed: Pressure Gate Exit
  • We have fixed an issue where Victims were able to pass through the pressure gate exit after completing the valve minigame without triggering an escape
    - Now when passing through the pressure gate exit, Victims will properly trigger the escape event

Patch Notes - March 28, 2024

Here are the Patch Notes for March 28th, 2024.

The following notes are for our upcoming, March 28th, 2024 patch. It is scheduled to begin rolling out on console and PC at roughly 8AM EDT. With this patch players will also be able to play on the newest map, The Mill and try out the newest DLC character, Virginia.

The patch will address the following issues:

PATCH NOTES

Tuned: Julie’s Proximity Aura
  • We have tuned Julie’s Proximity Aura
  • Her Proximity Aura radius is now slightly smaller, to match the other Victims



Tuned: Nancy’s Wait a Second Perk
  • We have tuned the perk Wait a Second
  • Victims who are ensnared in Nancy’s barbed wire will now wait 3/5/8 seconds before being able to remove it
  • Previously, Victims would have to wait 10/15/20 seconds to remove it


Changed: Credits Added for Cissy Jones and Michael Johnston
  • We added in credits for the Nancy and Danny characters
  • The amazing Cissy Jones does both voice acting and motion capture for Nancy
  • The talented Michael Johnston voices Danny


Fixed: Family Members Softlocked
  • We fixed the problem where Family members would get softlocked for the rest of a match if stunned while losing stamina
  • This fix applies to being stunned by a doorslam, barged by Leland, and sneak attacked


Fixed: Choose Fight Perk
  • We fixed an issue where Choose Fight at level 3 was not adding 5 seconds of stun duration at the end of a close encounter
  • This was previously fixed but came undone during the February 6th update


Fixed: Nicotero Chainsaw Audio on Leatherface Variants
  • We have fixed an issue where the unique Nicotero saw sound was incorrect when equipped on other Leatherface outfits
  • Now, when using the Nicotero saw on a non-Nicotero Leatherface, the correct audio will be present


Fixed: Lobby Timer Countdown Not Showing
  • We fixed a UI issue where players would not see the lobby timer during the 5 seconds before a match launches


Fixed: Lobby Timer Softlocking
  • We fixed an issue where players could get softlocked if the lobby timer UI did not trigger and they had the Settings menu open at the start of the match


Fixed: Makin’ Grandpa Proud
  • We have fixed the issue where Makin’ Grandpa Proud was not unlocking, however Makin’ Grandpa Proud will only unlock for base game maps, meaning that it will not unlock on Nancy’s House or The Mill


Fixed: Match Not Ending

  • We fixed an issue where games would sometimes not end after the last Victim was killed or disconnected


Fixed: Leland’s Star Sign Ability Description

  • We fixed an error in Leland’s Star Sign ability description which incorrectly stated, “Does not affect Leatherface”
  • This line has been removed


Fixed: Twinkle Toes Perk

  • We fixed an issue where Twinkle Toes was not functioning when Victims ran through bone charms at all levels
  • Twinkle Toes will now work as intended


Fixed: Stuck Spots on Nancy’s House

  • We fixed an issue where Victims would sometimes get stuck in a wall after jumping down a well on Nancy’s House leading to the North Tunnel
  • We fixed an issue where Victims would sometimes become stuck on a shelf after being hit off the ladder in Nancy’s Bedroom


Fixed: Family Members Stuck on Couch in Slaughterhouse
  • We fixed an issue where Family members would sometimes get stuck when picking up blood in the Cutting Room
  • The blood bucket has been moved to prevent Family members from becoming stuck


Fixed: Cook Padlocks
  • We fixed an issue where the unlock mini game would sometimes incorrectly remove the main lock instead of Cook’s padlock when placed on an already locked door/gate
  • This would prevent Cook from removing the padlock
  • Now when Victims attempt to unlock a door with Cook’s padlock placed on it, the first lock to be broken will be Cook’s padlock


Fixed: Nancy’s Stamina Bar Refill
  • We fixed an issue where Nancy’s stamina bar would sometimes refill without delay when the perk “Wait a Second” was equipped


Fixed: Users Experiencing Constant Rubberbanding
  • We fixed an issue where some players were experiencing rubberbanding during matches that would be brief in duration but consistent


Fixed: Players Softlocked After Disabling Crossplay
  • We fixed an issue where if players would disable crossplay while in a crossplay party the subsequent removal would sometimes result in becoming softlocked
  • Now disabling crossplay while in a crossplay lobby will still result in being kicked from the party, but players will no longer be softlocked


Fixed: Leatherface Spawn Point
  • We fixed an issue where Leatherface would sometimes spawn outside of the Basement


Fixed: Title Crash During Match Reconnect
  • We fixed an issue where Family members would sometimes experience a crash when attempting to reconnect to the match


Fixed: Danny Scream Audio During Opening Cutscene
  • We fixed an issue where if Danny was featured during the opening cutscene, Leland’s voice over would play
  • Now when Danny is featured in the opening cutscene, his correct voice over will be present


Fixed: HUD Not Displaying Correctly on HDD
  • We fixed an issue where Player’s HUD would not display properly when installed on an HDD


Fixed: Generator Interaction Prompt
  • We fixed an issue where Victim players were able to turn off the generator from the side, resulting in the ability to bypass traps
  • Now Victims will not be able to start the interaction when standing on the side of the generator


Fixed: Lobby Crash on Slaughterhouse
  • We fixed an issue where Lobbies would sometimes crash when a Family Member attacked a Victim climbing down the ladder on the side of the Tool Storage


Fixed: Blood Glow on Slaughterhouse
  • We fixed an issue where blood would sometimes have a yellow shine in the Leatherface’s Lair area
  • Now blood will not shine and correctly show red in color
