Sneak Peek - Unreleased DLC Cards (Coming Soon)

To celebrate Squirmish's participation in the Creature Collector Fest, enjoy a sneak peek of two new cards, part of a ginormous 24-card booster pack to be released soon as DLC. (Summer 2025)

Up front is CHEEKPOCKETS . With all those nuts and acorns filling her cheeks, no one properly knows if she's a squirrel or woodchuck or maybe something hamster-adjacent, but CHEEKPOCKETS can uncork some serious damage with RAPID-FIRE NUT SPIT. Plus, with MUMBLE & SCURRY, she frequently scampers away from attacks, avoiding damage.

Next up is TACKY O'SWEATERSAURUS. "What's this!?" you say, "Another seasonal Christmas card?" No! He wears that disgusting sweater all year long. That's why he's Tacky.

Not only is this dinosaur really big, with DOUBLE-KNIT, only plus-sized cards can attack him. This spells serious trouble to opponents fielding smaller cards. With WOLLY BULLY and a mildewy stench that rivals STINKEYE's ORB of ODOR, Tacky can splash damage onto all nearby enemies for maximum impact.

We hope you enjoyed this early look at some forthcoming Squirmish cards, and please take a gander at all of the other great games featured this week in the Creature Collector Fest!

Squirmish Patch 0.3.32 (Early Access)

Some minor updates to both the FULL and DEMO versions of Squirmish.
Improved bot behavior re: SHAVING CREAM
Bot players have always been pretty stupid with APEBEARD's SHAVING CREAM ability. That ability blocks first time attackers from attacking APEBEARD.

Players with APEBEARD in their initial hand could take advantage of this weakness by playing APEBEARD as starter and never playing another card. This usually led to an easy victory as the bots stubbornly prioritized not attacking their own cards and ended up skipping every attack.

With this change, bots will now better recognize this situation and start attacking friendly cards to get around SHAVING CREAM.
Fixed issues with CAT BURGLAR stealing SOO-EER or DEFIBRILLATOR
SWINI's SOO-EER and DR. DEVIL M.D.'s DEFIBRILLATOR are both activated abilities that allow you to fish a card from a pile. (SOO-EER let's you take a card from the draw pile, while DEFIB lets you grab one from the discard.) Both abilities make use of a mini card browsing UI element to perform their actions.

MISS SNOOGIE's CAT BURGLAR ability lets you steal activated abilities from adjacent cards, including SOO-EER and DEFIBRILLATOR. Unfortunately, the card browsing UI for these abilities was not getting initialized properly when interacting with CAT BURGLAR and it exposed cards that were not even in the game deck. Selecting one of these cards would crash the game. Now fixed.
Fixed problem with win-streak stats moving from Demo to Full
Rogues' Gallery win-streak stats are tracked differently in the Full version than they are in the Demo. We discovered that when Demo players upgraded to the Full version, the converted win-streaks set for rogue opponents were sometimes inaccurate, (although usually better than what was earned in the demo). Win-streaks are now transferred correctly from Demo to Full version.
Other Changes
This update also includes a number of invisible changes in preparation for future development.

Squirmish Patch 0.3.29 (Early Access)

A quick update to the card Kooga's ability, NINE LIVES.

Whenever Kooga is knocked out, it's special ability NINE LIVES, does a die roll, and on a roll of 4-6, Kooga is fully healed rather than knocked out.

Usually this works fine, but after Kooga is saved from a natural knock out, it will periodically perform the NINE LIVES roll again when it's not called for. While this generally does not break the game, it is an annoying little bug, and now it's fixed.

(Most knock outs occur when a card drops to zero HP. A natural knock out happens when an attack explicitly says KNOCK OUT. Groxny's CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE, and Mr, Bottoms's PREPARATION ACHE are two examples.)

This fix was included in updates to both the FULL version and the DEMO version.

Squirmish Patch 0.3.28 (Early Access)

A quick update with some minor changes.

Changes:
 • Fixed a bug that was causing Rogues' Gallery opponents to play at a weaker level than intended. (This was partially fixed in the last update, but now it covers all rogue bots.)
 • Polished the preload of greeter characters (the ones that appear on the home page) so that the don't blink in late after the home page is revealed.

This fixes were included in updates for both the FULL version and the DEMO version.
