Patch 0.2 Fresh Start - Full Changelog

These notes contain the full breadth of changes to Leafling for the Fresh Start 0.2 Patch. I'll keep this intro short as there is an abundance of information to dive into.

All changes will be going live on November 15th at 5:00pm EST unless specifically mentioned otherwise in the notes.


SYSTEM CHANGES


  • New Fresh Start Server available to register on - Legacy Transfers disabled.
  • New 1440p Resolution Support
  • Level Cap raised from 50 > 60
  • In-Game Day format changed from 1-1 to 8 In-Game Days per Real World Day
  • New Day/Night functionality added for quests/encounters/mechanics




TUTORIAL CHANGES



  • The Tutorial now expands through Saltwater Field
  • Dreamer's Shore has been completely reimagined with a new map
  • New Tutorial Pop-ups have been added
  • New Tutorial Pop-up confirmation button added
  • Tutorial now teaches players how to change classes
  • Tutorial now teaches players how to use Gathering Classes
  • Tutorial now takes players to Level 5
  • Tutorial now teaches players about Gear Spells
  • Tutorial now includes Harvesting
  • Tutorial MSQ completely overhauled
  • 5 new Quests added to Dreamer's Shore
  • 3 returning Quests added to Dreamer's Shore
  • New "Docile Boar" Level 4 Mobs added to Dreamer's Shore
  • Clawpy and Tortus no longer drop Mana Tears
  • Tortus now drop Rawhide
  • New directional arrows added to help guide new players
  • 14 New Tutorial Infographics added
  • Tutorial mobs have been balanced according to new scaling values
  • Clawpy can now use the "Pinch" spell, dealing bonus Physical Damage
  • Tortus can now use the "Withdraw" Spell, raising their Defense
  • Docile Boars can now use the "Headram" Spell, dealing Physical Damage and inflicting Stun
  • New decorative elements such as flying birds have been added
  • New SFX featuring crashing waves when near the ocean have been added
  • The tutorial now teaches players about the importance of targetting
  • The tutorial now teaches players how to hotbar their Spells
  • The tutorial now teaches players the difference between Solo and Group Dungeons
  • The tutorial now teaches players about Crafting
  • The tutorial now asks players to agree to a Code of Conduct
  • New "Sunflower" resources added to Dreamer's Shore, they can be harvested for Wild Fibers





COMBAT CHANGES


[h2]COMBAT SYSTEMS[/h2]
  • Mana has been removed from the game and replaced with Class Points
  • Mana Potions removed
  • Mana Food reworked
  • Each Class has a set amount of Class Points that cannot be raised
  • Each Class now has Spells that Regenerate Class Points, and Spells that Spend Class Points
  • Class Points add fun new ways of player expression via gameplay and make each Class feel unique!
  • Various Class Balance changes - Class Balance Notes to be released on the 15th
  • The Crowd Control Immunity Timer has been removed (Experimental)
  • The duration of most Crowd Control effects reduced
  • Projectile Update rate increased, improving hit detection
  • Your character is no longer animation locked when swinging their weapon



[h2]PvE CHANGES[/h2]
  • Levelling dungeons can now be challenged both Solo or in a Party
  • Levelling dungeons now scale difficulty per additional player dynamically
  • Slime Queen mechanics changed to better fit a multiplayer fight
  • Slime's have gained the spell "Slime Burst", channeling for a long duration and then exploding!
  • Sporelings can now use the spell "Spore Wave" summoning a wave of spores in a line after a cast
  • Coast Snakes can now use the spell "Viper Lunge" warping them to you and dealing damage
  • Stingers can now cast "Sting!" dealing Physical Damage and inflicting Stun
  • All Mobs from Level 1 > 30 have had their stats rebalanced
  • Stat rebalance features more health, more varied defenses, and more varied movement speeds
  • Tower of Hazel's "Omen" has had their mechanics reduced in damage
  • Tower of Hazel's "Enki" has had their mechanics completely redesigned
  • Enemies are now more interactive and have a larger variety of spells to choose from
  • Some enemies are now aggressive on the overworld and will attack on sight if you get near enough



[h2]PvP CHANGES[/h2]
  • The Crimson Keep will be released shortly following this update (1-2 days)
  • The Crimson Keep is a new PvX experience that attempts to simulates the excitement of Roguelites
  • PvP Activities now award "Runestones of Valor"
  • Runestones of Valor are a unique PvP currency that can be exchanged for a myriad of goods
  • Lucky Clovers (Grants +1 Level to equipped Class) can be purchased with Runestones of Valor
  • Lucky Clovers allow you to level your alt-classes while having fun PvPing!
  • New gear is available to purchase with Runestones of Valor
  • Old Crimson Gear improved and now available
  • PvP Scaling implemented - This allows us to specifically tune PvP and PvE separately!
  • PvP Global Damage down by 70%
  • Class Specific PvP Tuning changes - To be listed on 11/15 Class Patch Notes




STORY



  • The Main Story Quests have been expanded to Level 50 (60 to be available one week after release)
  • The Main Story Quests now offer a direct path to Max Level for your first Class
  • Early Main Story Quests have been updated to be more clear and engaging
  • New Solo Story Instances added - Play through exciting instanced story events!
  • Class Quests finally here! The first 4 Class Quests will be available for Soldier, Acolyte, Thief, and Cleric
  • New NPC's now populate the land, offering nothing but simple conversation and looks into Artemia
  • New interactable objects scattered throughout the world offering more insight into the lore
  • New "Book" items available that can be used and read for more information on the world
  • New Treasure Maps that show a rough sketch of an area to find (Coming soon after release!)




ECONOMY



  • New Crafting Specializations added - Specialize in a form of Crafting to craft new amazing items!
  • Each player is restricted to one Specialization at a time
  • Players can swap Specializations for a large sum of Almas (Gold) and their current Specialization Rank
  • Enchanting Alma (Gold) costs increased for high end gear, and reduced for low end gear
  • Enchanting no longer costs Mana Tears
  • All Crafts (Not Refining) now require Mana Tears in varying amounts
  • Crafting Formula simplified and now extremely consistent and easy to understand
  • All Crafts now require up to 3 different Raw Materials (Wood, Metal, Leather, ect)
  • All Crafts will also now require up to 3 different Reagents which can be obtained in a myriad of ways
  • Reagents make Crafting engage with all forms of content, from Raiding, to Gathering, to PvP!
  • Player Trade now heavily suggested with addition of Specialized Crafting
  • Work together and trade goods or currency for the skills of other Craftsmen!
  • The Cut-Throat Merchant has been removed and replaced with Underpass Quests
  • A new Vendor has been added to each Sanctuary and will offer tons of goods for Almas
  • Vault Map Alma gains improved by 10% - A fun casual way to make money with friends
  • New Monster Trophy items can now be obtained and sold for Almas to most vendors
  • Weekly Currency "Runestones of Vigor" have been added
  • Clearing any Level 50+ Dungeon or Raid will award you with +1 Runestone of Vigor
  • You can claim 1 Runestone of Vigor from every Dungeon and Raid each once per week
  • Most content now also awards Runestones of Splendor
  • Runestones of Splendor area new side currency that can be exchanged for unique goods
  • You are limited to earning up to 10,000 Runestones of Splendor each week
  • Runestones of Vigor can be exchanged for unique Crafting Reagents needed for high end Crafting
  • Runestones of Splendor can be exchanged for Sacks of Almas, Mana Tears, and more!
  • New Weekly "Custom Order" Quests can be taken on each week for Specialized Crafters
  • Custom Orders are more difficult to fulfill but offer great rewards
  • Custom Orders raise in difficulty, and rewards, as your Specialization Rank increases

The amount of changes in this patch is astronomical and going into more detail would both spoil some of the fun of a blind fresh start release, and also make me have to write these notes for way too long! (I do have a game to make >.>)
