Leafling Patch 0.2 "A Fresh Start"

It's Almost Time!

Patch 0.2 is now less than a month away! For those of you not in the know, on November 15th Leafling's 0.2 Patch "A Fresh Start" will be going live with a myriad of game-changing additions and the single biggest content update we've ever had! To celebrate the excitement, I've compiled a massive list of upcoming changes for these pre-patch notes. On release day we'll release more detailed patch notes that will go over numbers and specific changes in detail, but for now this is just a teaser! Without further ado lets get into it.

Fresh Start Server!

Over Leafling's early access period we've gone through many different iterations of tons of different systems to tune everything just right and get things to a stable state. In doing so we've encountered a plethora of bugs, economy crashes, changes to item acquisition difficulty, and more. Due to this, our development process has become skewed and no longer properly reflects the current state of Leafling as many players simply have no need to engage with it. To better facilitate further development and player enjoyment we will be launching Leafling's 0.2 Patch with a Fresh Server. This server will have all players register a new account and play fresh all together just like another release! Fear not, your current legacy characters are still intact and you can visit them whenever you would like, but the legacy server will likely remain quite dead in terms of population until server transfers become enabled after the full release of the game. If you've never played Leafling, or you took a long break, there has never been a better time to jump in than now!!!

Brand New Tutorial!

Leafling's tutorial has lagged behind in quality and effectiveness. These days most players just get confused in the first 5 minutes, and thats not good! So we're completely revamping the tutorial, releasing a larger version of Dreamer's Shore, and adding 5 Levels worth of content to the starter zone as well as fully improving the tutorial with better infographics, better dialogue, and more clear markers that guide players in the right direction.

Level Cap Increased!

Patch 0.2 will include 10 new levels of progression, putting the new Level Cap to 60! All classes will also be gaining 2 additional spells, one at 55 and one at 60. There will also be loads of new gear to obtain, new Level 51 > 60 content, and more!

Trial of Wisdom Reborn

The Trial of Wisdom currently is a relic of a less powerful version of Leafling's engine. And its finally time I unveil the true vision for Trial content. For those of you who love to min max and challenge yourself, this Trial will push even the most skilled, coordinated, and communicative party to its limit. A 10 minute long rush of back to back mechanics, heavy boss damage, intense heal checks, difficult mechanical puzzles to solve, and a very tight DPS check. This fight has been ready for some time now, but I've kept it on the burner to rigorously and intensively test it to make sure everything is right the first time on release.

In addition, Trials will also be gaining their new loot tier system. For the most hardcore among you, collecting a full set of Trial loot is the highest possible achievement in terms of progression in Leafling Online. Here is a breakdown of the new loot system:

*Au'rum will now drop 1 "Runestone of Wisdom" per player, per week. Runestones of Wisdom can be used to purchase new Pinnacle gear from the Au'rum set.

*Trials will now also drop a Chest per player, per week, containing 4 bonus Runestones of (Trial Name). Each player will be rolled randomly for bonus loot. Each player can only receive 1 bonus Runestone per week for a maximum of 2 Runestones per week.

*All Trials future and current will now receive full sets of gear for every weapon type and every armor type per Trial.

*Prices are as follow:
**(Weapon type) of the Omniscient - x8 Runestones of Wisdom
**(Armor type) of the Omniscient - x4 Runestones of Wisdom
**(Off-Hand type) of the Omniscient - x2 Runestones of Wisdom
**Pendant of the Omniscient - x2 Runestones of Wisdom
**Soul of the Omniscient - x8 Runestones of Wisdom

New Zones!

Patch 0.2 will feature the following new zones to explore:
*Lost City - Level 51 > 60 - PvP Disabled
*Hidden Oasis - New Endgame Hub - PvP Disabled
*Scorpion Pass - Lvl 60 - PvP Enabled
*Temple of Qira - Lvl 60 - PvP Enabled

Crafting and Gathering Specializations!

Patch 0.2 will feature a massive overhaul to Crafting and Gathering from a ground level up. Now both Gathering and Crafting are much easier to understand, more respectful of your time, and feature more content, In addition players must now specialize in a Crafting and Gathering profession to craft or gather certain tiers of items. Here are some cliff notes for the changes:

*Gatherers and Crafters can now take on Orders from Craftsman Hall to gain Reputation and rewards. After gaining enough Craftsman Hall Reputation for Gathering or Crafting, you will be offered a quest to select your Specialization. You can only be Specialized into one profession at a time.

*You can change Specializations but it is very expensive and will also reset all of your progress on your current Specialization, so if you ever return you'll have to start over! So choose wisely.

*Crafting Specializations include: Blacksmith, Clothier, Jeweler, Woodworker, and Arcanist, and Chef

*After choosing your Specialization, you can continue to raise your reputation with your new guild (Blacksmith's Guild, Jeweler's Guild, ect) to unlock new Crafting Recipes all the way up to Pinnacle in some cases! Sell your wares to players of other Specializations and use your funds to purchase items you cannot craft yourself!

*Crafting Recipes have all been standardized into an easy to understand formula requiring Raw Materials (metals, wood, cloth, leather) and Reagents (Special crafting items, like a Wolf Claw, or Feather)

*Crafting Recipes have now been balanced based on time-to-acquire to prevent any unnecessarily large or unreasonable timesinks.

*Gathering Specializations include: Miner, Lumberjack, Fisher, Botanist

*Levelling up your Gathering Specialization will allow you to gather higher rarity materials

Season 1!

Patch 0.2 will be the start of our second first Season! For those of you new to the concept, Seasons in Leafling consist of spans of time in which completing certain content will reward your character with Explorer Rank Points. Earn enough Explorer Rank Points and Rank Up! For each Rank you achieve throughout the Season you'll earn exclusive Seasonal rewards as well as plenty of useful items. During that time, PvP Rankings will also be enabled during the Season allowing you to earn even more great rewards for performing well in PvP!

And Much More!

We're just getting started! With a new trial, new raids, new dungeons, gear, gear spells, classes, items, recipes, events, and more, 2023 is looking bright for Artemia! I can't wait to see you all on November 15th :)
