v1.07.182 - Multiplayer Fixes

Lots of big and small fixes in this week's patch.

- MULTIPLAYER FIX: client jumping stuck (jump count reset fixes)
- MULTIPLAYER FIX: sound replications fixes for turrets, mines, traps
- MULTIPLAYER FIX: squirrel hit sound replication fixed
- MULTIPLAYER FIX: client moveable objects replication fixes (mesh textures / placements)
- MULTIPLAYER + SINGLE PLAYER: can now fire weapons while gliding
- force crouch when downed to activate collision capsule half height
- force camera collision check after ADS (fixes stuck camera 1st / 3rd person ADS)
- squirrel blood only on hit player
- gliding camera keeps current camera view

v1.07.151 - Super Hotfixes

A bunch of fixes for new Squirrel Turbine map and more... these fixes were too hot to wait until next week!

- TURBINE: squirrel player spawn map fix (added mountains and barrier)
- TURBINE: mutant squirrels will actively try to break down some barriers
- TURBINE: 100% full speed rotation activation time reduced to 30 seconds
- quad point speed boost tweak
- barriers can now be damaged by most player weapons
- MULTIPLAYER: turret replication optimizations
- MULTIPLAYER: moveable object replication optimizations

v1.07.138 - NEW MAP: Squirrel Turbine

NEW HIVE MISSION & MAP: Squirrel Turbine

Turbines 451-454 are off-line! Get up there and reboot them or deep hive levels 150 through 175 will suffocate...



Activate turbines by standing near control panels. What could be easier?

FIXED: mission objective replication
Mission objective counts now correctly replicate between server and clients. Co-op with a friend and watch each other's back!

NEXT FIX: co-op inventory
- items collected in multiplayer should get added to all single player inventory.
- allow multiplayer clients to trade, train and mod suits.

v1.07.125 - Co-op / Multiplayer Hotfixes + Tweaks

[h2]'Squirrel Brain'[/h2]
A condition of mild insanity; often affecting game developers while optimising multiplayer networks and trouble shooting data replication systems.



  • objectives now replicate to clients
  • client side objectives are being recorded server side
  • client objectives HUD status now updating




Tweaked lighting for a more darker tone in the Specimen Observation Lab and the Training Gauntlet.

[h2]NEW: squirrel masks[/h2]
It is done... the squirrels are MASKED. The squirrel is a symbol... it's now just obvious - lol.

ASAP: ability to turn the masks off in GAME SETTINGS.

[h2]Steam Repository Updated[/h2]
I've had to cleanup and update the Steam Repo to remove old beta files. This has resulted in a full game re-download from Steam being required.

So sorry, but I really had to clean up the repo!



[h2]In this update[/h2]
  • FIXED: bunch of multi-player issues (MP is now a primary focus)
  • UPDATED: multi-player mission zones now only include small maps for performance
  • UPDATED: lots of UI updates for multiplayer menus
  • UPDATED: squirrel brain for multiplayer. They will now chase the closest player bringing back the 'protect your comrade without shooting them' aspect of multi-player.




[h2]MULTIPLAYER: The State of the Squirrel[/h2]
Things are running much smoother now! I've reduced the mission zones to small uncluttered maps Training Grounds and the Specimen Observation Lab.

MP is still go for a quick survival / shoot fest and to hunt other player soldiers as a squirrel. I'm working on some multi-player mode ideas such as MOB and Squirrel Racing... heh heh.



[h3]MULTIPLAYER STUFF I'M WORKING HARD TO FIX:[/h3]
- 'rubber banding / stutter' (might be turrets or projectiles or both or other!)
- mission data replication to clients (fix objectives system for CO-OP)
- fix character mesh replication (server gets client mesh - WTFix soon!)
- other various data and actor replication bugs
- intermittent client crash (still gathering data)

ASAP: more small maps for lower spec machines + multiplayer!
