New Hotfixes

Hey guys!

We have just launched new hotfixes and we working on next ones. You can find details here ;)

Added petfood as a guide recipe to kitchen
Fixed vanishing cubes in dungeons
Fixed few places in winter zone where you could get stuck
Fixed isses with death after using time buttons
Added new information boards (also in fast travel location)
Fixed bulbulator quest and toxic mist issues
Added 3 more feathers reguired for Onitologist quest
Added more firewood in Winter Zone
Jammaker now acccepts apples and oranges
Fixed Sheep in Botanists Quest
Fixed Pond for birds decoration
Fixed gates in fast travel area
Fixed ice bugs that were caused by leaving the zone
Llamas should no longer walk into players space

NEW Major Patch is here!!!

Hey guys!

New Major patch is here with lots of new exciting content but before we go into more details please check out some of other announcements ;)

[h2]Communication[/h2]
First of all we are sorry for 2 months without any update. We were working hard on new content and improvements and needed extra time for new patch, but we should have communicated more in that period of time.
We will try to do more non-patch updates in future just to keep you up to date with what is coming next.

[h2]Your feedback[/h2]
We are also very grateful for your feedback and suggestions and although we do not reply regularly to steam discussions or discord suggestions you can be sure that we read every single topic and we catalogue every single complain/suggestion.
We are amazed at the amount of feedback we get with every patch on steam and discord and your support greatly helps with the development of the game.

Current state of game[/h2]
Yes we are aware that current state of game is a mess in terms of a lot of aspects and especially optimization. We are working on it but it takes time and we keep juggling between fixing old problems and producing more content. Nevertheless we are dedicated to improve on every aspect of game before full release.

[h2]Whats next?[/h2]
Before we go to patch notes we wanted to share with you our overall plan and also let you know what game aspects will still need to be reworked.
We just finished working on winter zone and started working on desert zone with one small final zone coming up after that.
Once we finish those zone we should have all animals, npcs, crafting stations materials etc finished for full release.

[h3]What we will work on next is:[/h3]
Major rework of quests and content on all zones.
Major optimization update (it cannot be done without reworking zones)
Introducing story and dialogues (everything related to story in the moment is a placeholder)
Major Economy rework (at the moment all costs are placeholders)
New features (no spoilers! ;))

So yes if you think that economy or story is lacking at this moment you are perfectly right – we haven’t just started working on it yet.

There is still ton of work ahead of us and at this stage pretty much every aspect of game is work in progress.

New Major Patch Changes

Ok now lets look at new patch changes:

[h2]New zone - WinterZone:[/h2]
A new map divided into 4 sub-areas
2 new main NPCs - Ornithologist and Botanist
A new type of resource - glass
New pocketcubes system for resources
28 new quests - 4 quest chains and 7 standalone quests



[h2]Camera:[/h2]
We have reworked camera settings
Now Ellen is more centered on screen which helps in smoother camera action
We removed most of camera shaking (still need to work on that)
We improved camera work in small interiors (still work in progress)
We removed most of motion sickness inducing camera moves (still have one more to fix)

[h2]Crafting stations fixes:[/h2]
We unified interactions with all crafting stations and blueprint shops.
Recycler now has interaction UI
You can now recycle any resource into recycled material.
We introduced pet food as a universal resource to feed pets. (you still need to tame them with specific food)
We fixed slightly arrow buttons in crafting stations


[h2]Robo Llamas![/h2]
We introduced into game robo llamas (as cubebots replacements)
Each zone will get a robo llama workshop that will produce daily certain materials so you will never run out of them.
Farm has a special llama workshop that can duplicate any material you want.
We know there is abundance of materials at the moment but they will become very useful once we are done with economy balance update.


[h2]Bird Feeders![/h2]
We introduced back in game bird feeders. Now you can feed birds with any food and they will leave seeds for you to produce more of the same food.


[h2]New quest changes:[/h2]
NPC noe can return to village once you finish their quests and fix their houses
Improved system for gaining new quests
New NPC Harald model

[h2]Combat:[/h2]
Few animation and combat tweaks (still WIP)

[h2]Optimization:[/h2]
Division of winter zone to smaller zones.
Working on dividing game world into smaller zones.

[h2]Tutorial:[/h2]
Few changes to tutorial and introduction of infographics instead of text.

[h2]Lightning:[/h2]
We had to rework completely lightning on all scenes but its working now as intended and each zone has its own lightning mood.
We had to temporarily remove shades from the game as we need to burn them on scenes and this process takes time but they will come back gradually with next updates.

[h2]Blueprints:[/h2]
We improved blueprints interface and icons so they can be better distinguished from crafting items.


[h2]New fast travel system:[/h2]
We have removed tents from game and added new fast travel system. Once unlocked on other side you will be able to fast travel from farm to other zones.


[h2]Coming soon:[/h2]
We are still working on that feature , once introduced in future patch Ellen will no longer die at 10pm. Night will go on and in the morning pop up window will save the game and start new day without the need to come back to your bed.

[h2]Smaller changes:[/h2]
Fields are now bright if dry and dark with water texture once they are watered.
New object oultines to distinguish interactions – orange outline to highlight need to hit object and green to intereact.
Crops now automatically go into inventory after harvesting (no need to vacuum them anymore)
Quest items now require interaction instead of vacuuming.
Wild animals once tamed in required numbers will grant rewards of specific seeds.
New upgrade system for structures (construction tents)

New Hotfixes!

Hey guys!

Today we have published new hotfixes to last major patch. More coming after weekend!

-Fixed an issue with Rudy disappearing after finishing herb quest in the Lonely Hills
-jammaker slight rebalanced
-Quests will now count objects on map properly (example " Extreme Recultivation")
-fixed various bugs and game crases regarding chicken coop lvl2
-chicken cornelius should no longer duplicate
-Fixed a bug that would cause bathtubs to duplicate and performance to drop
-Fixed a bug causing object in zones to dissapear when players changed zones exactly on 22:00
-Fixed a bug that would cause noxious gas to not dissapear after completing the apropriate quest
-placeable objects can now be build in the entire house
-Fixed an issue causing water filter drop to fall out of player's reach
-fixed a bug that will cause animals to get stuck near doors
-ducks will now properly require carrots to be fed instead of potatoes
-the AI of enemies in the hole undergroud should now work properly
-fixed a bug causing jam and mayo maker to display and drop incorrect values of items
-fixed a bug that would cause one quest in lonely hills to not display until finished
-added proper icons to oats and duck eggs
-fixed a visual bug that would appear if the home was fixed before opening hallway door
-fixed a bug that would cause player to fall off map when entering railway tunel.
-terrain adjusted to prevent ellen from falling into the hole
-coffee tables can now be build properly
-added missing sounds to some seed cubes
-Rudy will no longer endlessly loop in the final quest dialogue
-mouse senisitivity in Y axis should be working properly now
-fixed an issue with mirrored inventory display
-strawberries will no longer roll after being collected by player
-fixed improper "bonsai tree 2" position and rotation
-improper tooltip in home decoration workshop corrected

New Major Update is here!

Hey Guys! New Major Patch is officially here!

[h2]Are you ready for new adventures?[/h2]


New patch is live!
It features New Zone that doubles the size of the game, New Animals, New Crops, New Quests, New Farm Equipement, New NPC and lots of new features such as improved tools, new crafting system, new cooking system, home decorations and much more! \

As some of you know it already went through weekend beta tests and two days of live testing. We have already released two hotfix patches and are working on next ones.
Thank you very much for your feedback and support. We couldn't ask for a better community!
Most of this update is just a recap of a patch preview from weeks ago so if it sounds familiar it is ;)

Early Access


No Place Like Home is actually our first digital project. We just wanted to say that we still have tons to learn and mistakes to avoid in the future and we very sorry about any issues and inconvenience that our game may cause you. We are very dedicated to removing all bugs and issues but it takes some time to fix them all. Thank you for your patience!

Ok so what's new? - New Content Recap


[h2] New Recipes and Crafting System[/h2]

You can now buy all your item recipes from vendors in exchange for specific food and Jar Currency.
Once you buy the recipe for an item you can craft it in your crafting station with Recycled Materials and Resources.

[h2]Three Simple and Fun Tools[/h2]

We also redesigned our tool system to three simple and fun tools:
  • Drill- Hit or hold Left Mouse Button
  • Water hose - Hit or hold Right Mouse Button
  • Vacuum - Hit or hold Space


[h2]New Kitchen and Jar Maker[/h2]

Our next introduction is a new kitchen system where you will be able to use your food to cook delicious dishes. Those dishes will be required to domesticate some animals, complete some quests and learning new recipes as well as making new friends. With new patch you will be able find cooking recipes allover the world!
You can now also change all your food into Jars - main trading currency in a very convenient Jar Maker.



[h2]New rooms, wallpapers, wall pictures and furniture[/h2]

With new patch you will be also able to unlock new rooms, setup new wallpapers and hang pictures on the walls! No need to live in dirty house anymore!


[h2]Whole new Zone with new quests, enemies, animals, crops and dungeons![/h2]
Regarding new content, we have plenty of things for you to find and enjoy together with whole new zone and quests. We don’t want to spoil too much but you can check out below just a few things that we have prepared for you and we are very happy to say that new zone and dungeons increases the game 2x in size!



[h2]Old Save games[/h2]

During development of the game we have encountered many optimization issues which finally forced us to divide whole game world into smaller zones and adding loading screens between them.

Despite our efforts some of the old save games may no longer work at the moment.

We do plan to fix it but it may take up to 2 weeks. If you still want to preserve your old save games that are not working right now please do not save over them otherwise your progress will be lost.

Since we already fixed zones problems this issue should not happen again in the future.

There are no patch notes for Major Patch this time as we basically changed most of the aspects of the game and it would take a giant list to mention them all.
However here are patch notes for todays hotfixes:
- Disappearing improved versions of the kitchen has been fixed
- Duplicating animals caught in the village zone fixed
- Added information about shops, crafting station and box cubes to the tutorial
- Added contextual information about the vacuuming of armored robots, bridge reconstruction and sleeping spots
- Sleeping kit is now available earlier
- Fixed timer buttons gate respawns
- Large blocks of wood can no longer be destroyed with a water snap
- Multiple dialogues typos fixed
- Cubes respawning in dungeons fixed
- Fixed suitcases with no loot
- Increase inventory battery stack size to 40
- Outdoor shower decoration fix
- Multiple floating cubes fixes
- Placeable box bridge fixed in Lonely Hills
