Update 0.8.30

Just a small update before I dive into creating a new mission, and after working hard on Cliff Empire...

  • Improved enemy behavior.
  • Island - added new construction elements, tiny platforms, triangles, a tiny wall, and a camera control terminal.
  • Island - improved snapping (reacts at a shorter distance) for construction.
  • Island - fixed a bug where you could not build stairs near the wall.
  • Island - more special places have appeared on scrap heaps, giving more resources if you extract from them.
  • Island - Multi-tool selection is no longer activated by R, but only by re-selecting the multi-tool from the slot (1, 2, 3, 4) to avoid getting used to the R button and subsequent loss of ammo due to accidental button presses.
  • Improved graphics of icons and some graphic elements.
  • Improved snow material and tones.
  • Improved lighting on various stone objects.
  • Fixed a bug where changing the anti-aliasing did not work properly.

Update 0.8.29

  • Dynamic snow/mud. It can be found in some places on different levels.
  • A dozen textures have been improved... one of them was 14 years old when I started developing the project as a teenager.
  • Character views in the headquarters are now slightly different.
  • A new element of equipment: The first chest armor can be found in the headquarters (science department, second floor).
  • New Equipment Item: Old path, a new piece of location at the beginning of the level.
  • On the island, a new element for construction has been added.
  • On the island, when building certain objects, a directing arrow is now visible.
  • On the island it is now impossible to build objects inside each other.
  • On the island, when mining resources, there are now specially marked areas, cutting objects in these areas brings additional resources.


Hotfix:
  • Fixed some bugs with new snow.
  • Improved effects of concrete mining.
  • Sniper towers on the island, and on large locations (cliff level and desert) now save their state if captured or destroyed.

Update 0.8.28

  • Added a new mission: Aircraft Factory
  • Camera switch left/right is temporarily disabled.
  • Long awaited: ladder animation is replaced, also ladder sprint works.
  • Sprint now also speeds up climbing on other surfaces.
  • New equipment has been added to the Ancient Crater level (underground control center)
  • New equipment has been added to the Construction Site level, in the control center.
  • New equipment has been added to the Castle level, in the small tower.
  • New equipment has been added to the Abandoned Cliff level, crashed Plane, and far tower Control Center.
  • New equipment has been added to the Desert level, a building with turrets on the roof closer to the start.
  • Equipment is now not removed immediately, you can read the description by selecting a slot, and a second click will remove the equipment from the slot.
  • Other Minor changes to the interface.
  • Player missile launchers have a longer homing duration (previously dropped after 5 seconds of flight)
  • On the island in the starting area, barrels and containers can now be mined with multitool.
  • On the island, you can now find additional resources on the shoreline.
  • On the island, glass now doesn't break, but is shot through, also this applies to the rest of the game, most glass is now shot through.
  • Added a permanent power supply indicator on the island.
  • On the island, the choice of building angle is now also changed with the mouse wheel.
  • Buttons 1234 no longer change the keyboard focus cursor in the interface, also the mouse wheel now works in the interfaces.
  • Stingray debris now disappears over time.


Hotfix:
  • Some fixes in the last released level.
  • Fixed bug with Artemis helmet display.
  • Increased size of the number 0 on a hit that does no damage, also introduced a dependency on the camera FOV.

Update 0.8.26

I already started work on the new level, but in the meantime: small fixes and additional content.
  • Decorated the headquarters a little %)
  • Slightly fixed the behavior of worms / stingrays / scouts.
  • Added 2 more items of equipment. One is on the wooden constructions on the way to Boeing on the tree in the swamps, the other on the Bastion mission, behind the portal.
  • Olympic rifle missiles now again fly up, the shooting straight isn't beautiful enough.
  • New objects for construction: chest, classic chair, sofa, table, light garlands.
  • Fixed a bug where the character could be created very small.


Additional hotfix:
  • New shoulder pads have been added to the South Station location (satellite tower in the far corner.)
  • Additional optimization.
  • Corrections on the "island" location (incorrect placement of some graphic elements).

Base Building (Update 0.8.25)


I've spent the last month developing a new game mode that will give you the opportunity to be creative in setting up your base. There's still a bit of work to be done, and not all of the planned items can be built yet, but I hope you'll like it.

Also, a lot of time was spent on the equipment system, now there are quite a few armor elements (7 in total), but we will gradually add more and more new armor elements, and they will have different effects on the player's parameters.

  • Added new game mode (as an additional mission in the first sector)
  • Added new story level. (the plan was to release three missions at once, but the priority shifted to additional game mode)
  • The equipment area has been added to the inventory on the left, and the equipment system has been implemented.
  • Added two storage chests to the HQ near the stairs and portal.
  • In the first mission, an abandoned building was added, there you can find one of the first leg equipment.
  • In the second mission in the interior of the cafe, the first headgear has been added for equipping.
  • The extractor can now be equipped in a slot (make more free space in inventory).
  • The "heavy armor" suit upgrade has been replaced with "stability" which gives you a chance to stay on your feet after explosions.
  • Old Heavy Armor Plates can now be found as spare parts at HQ and in the bridge mission.
  • Added difficulty selection in the loading / starting a new game menu.
  • Updated save system to introduce new functionality, spent a month of thinking and a day of implementation so it will not harm player's data...
  • Limits of items in the inventory have been revised. Now almost everything in the inventory has no limits, but after a certain amount - it begins to occupy an additional slot. So now you can fill the entire inventory with a bonfire, first aid kits, and energy capsules.
  • When approaching the portal, if the player has not crafted/used upgrades - a warning will be displayed.
  • The bow is drawn faster to maximum strength.
  • Arrows can now be re-picked.
  • Save indicator is now more visible.
  • Once again changed walking mechanics (it was annoying that in battle, accidentally hiding a weapon, the player started to walk slowly). Now walking works only until the first sprint, and also turns on again after 15 seconds of inactivity.
  • When jumping/falling, you can now slightly change the flight direction.
  • About 50 small adjustments to collisions, and game mechanics, according to detailed feedback from the user “someone”. special thanks for that ;)
  • Reworked worm behavior. Now they chase the player more aggressively, have a smaller detection radius of the player, and miss a bit.
  • In the "Desert" mission, the behavior of stingrays has also been redesigned, they behave more stably, and spin less.
  • Added new setting: sensitivity of the camera when aiming.
  • Fixed a bug where the implosion explosion did not pull objects into the center of the explosion.
  • Additional optimization.
