Season 1 has begun and all rank points have been reset!

[h2]Balance[/h2]

  • Ignite: Anti-healing duration increased from 4 to 8 seconds.
  • Mana Hound: Mana gained on ally cast reduced from [10/15/25] down to [8/12/16].
  • Rogue: Attack speed reduced from 0.95 down to 0.75. Basic attack damage increased from 27 up to 30.
  • Death Eater: Changed to Gain [14/21/35] basic attack damage. Whenever an ally dies, gain [18/27/45] additional damage for 4 seconds. This is in an effort to make the power more viable in non-summon drafts.
  • Static Discharge: Level 3 stun reduced from 3 down to 2.4 seconds.
  • Disarm: Damage reduction increased from 20% up to 24%.


[h2]Mana Model Changes[/h2]

Mana gained from basic attacks now no longer factors in the actual damage of the attack. Units instead gain a flat amount of mana per basic attack landed. This is in an effort to improve the pacing of the earlier rounds which are often very sluggish and slow.

Certain unit abilities needed to be balanced accordingly for either an increased or decreased cast rate on average, however the relative balance of all units was preserved. The affected units are as follows:

  • Voidbringer: Attack speed reduced from 1 down to 0.7. Basic attack damage increased from 44 up to 64.
  • Trapper: Attack speed reduced from 1.05 down to 0.8. Basic attack damage increased from 19 up to 25.
  • Forsaken: Damage gained on ability cast reduced from 22 down to 20.
  • Rogue: Ability damage reduced from 100 down to 70. Damage multiplier reduced from 150% down to 125%.
  • Rock Golem: Attack speed reduced from 0.6 down to 0.5. Basic attack damage increased from 29 up to 37.
  • Shadowstalker: Ability damage reduced from 120 down to 100. Invulnerability duration reduced from 2 down to 1.5 seconds. Attack speed reduced from 1.25 down to 1. Basic attack damage increased from 29 up to 36.
  • Lightsmith: Ability damage reduced from 65 down to 55.
  • Grove Tender: Ability heal reduced from 125 down to 110. Attack percentage reduced from 150% down to 145%.
  • Devourer: Ability damage reduced from 80 down to 70 and stun reduced from 0.8 down to 0.6 seconds.
  • Darkmage: Ability damage reduced from 125 down to 100.
  • Kiros: Silence duration reduced from 1 down to 0.7 seconds.
  • Voidbeast: Attack speed reduction reduced from 25% down to 20%. Attack speed reduced from 1.05 down to 1. Basic attack damage increased from 44 up to 46.

  • You can now import and export Draft codes from a button in the Collection menu to share your amazing builds!

[h2]Balance[/h2]

  • Ignite: Healing reduction increased from 20% up to 30%. Damage increased from 3% up to 4%.

  • Rogue: Ability damage is now dealt over 4 seconds instead of instantly and the target is additionally silenced for [1/1.5/2] seconds. Basic attack damage increased from 24 to 27.

  • Fortify: No longer grants a shield but instead grants [40%/60%/80%] attack speed for 3 seconds.

  • Disarm: Mana cost reduced to 1 and is a guaranteed effect on each attack. Damage reduction reduced from 30% down to 20%.

  • Grove Tender: Healing projectile significantly sped up.


[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]

  • Fixed an issue where targeting was not correctly saved when copying a board state to clipboard.

Teleport to the furthest enemy unit on the board and deal [100/150/250] + 150% of basic attack damage to them as magic damage.

[h3]New Power: Fortify[/h3]


Once every [7/6/5] seconds, absorb the next crowd control effect and gain [140/210/350] shield.

[h3]New Power: Ignite[/h3]


Whenever the bearer casts an ability, deal blunt damage to all enemies within 1 tile for [3%/4%/6%] of their maximum health and reduce their healing received by [20%/30%/50%] for 4 seconds.

[h2]Noteworthy Changes[/h2]

[h3]New Player Experience Changes[/h3]

We have listened to community feedback regarding the new player experience and the following changes have been made:

Cards are no longer locked behind gold, all players will have all units and powers unlocked by default. Gold may still be used to buy titles and entry into the Divine Trial and will be a valuable resource in the near future with the release of cosmetics.

[h3]Season 1 Reset[/h3]

With the arrival of Season 1, the following changes to the ranking system have been made:

  • All ranking points will be reset on the 8th April at 00:00 CET.
  • Updates were made to how rank points are calculated to represent more of an elo-based system.
  • You will not be able to de-rank until passing the Gold rank.
  • The gap between rank badges is now 300 rank points, up from 200.


[h2]General[/h2]

  • Added a Game Coach that will offer tips during a match. This can be disabled in the options menu.
  • You can now Right-Click a piece to auto-play it during a match.
  • Divine Trial entry cost has been increased to 800.
  • Draft selection now happens in the Play menu before going into a match.
  • Attack lines will now indicate if the target is within attack range.
  • Once a player marks as ready, the time given to the opponent has been increased to 25, up from 20 seconds.
  • The game window will now grab focus when a match is found and you are minimized (Windows only).
  • Hovering over a unit during a battle will now display health and mana values on their bars.
  • Added "Mute audio when minimized" game option.
  • Damage leaderboard is now a dropdown and easier to use.
  • Added shortcut keys for Shuffle [Q] and Lock [E].
  • Daily win bonus gold has been removed.
  • You can press 'Z' instead of left-click while playing Whack-A-Sol.


[h2]Unit Balance[/h2]

  • In most cases, ability range is now equal to the unit's basic attack range. The affected units are: Treant, Sentinel, Grove Tender, Darkmage, Mortar, Mana Hound.
  • Sentinel: Curse now additionally deals 30% of its damage to all enemies within 1 tile of the target when it expires.
  • Treant: Will now heal the most damaged ally in range, identical to how the Grove Tender works. Health increased from 1300 to 1500.
  • Spirit Wolf: Basic attack damage reduced from 62 down to 58. Bite damage reduced from 175 down to 130 and heal percentage reduced from 50% down to 45%.
  • Rock Golem: Rockling health reduced from 200 down to 160. Basic attack damage reduced from 22 down to 20.
  • Kiros: Health reduced from 1000 down to 970.
  • Berserker: Attack speed reduced from 1.2 down to 1.
  • Forsaken: Basic attack damage reduced from 30 down to 26. Attack speed increased from 0.65 up to 0.75.
  • Militia: Bash damage reduced from 30 down to 25.


[h2]Power Balance[/h2]

  • Drain Essence now distributes the lifesteal among allies within 1 tile instead of giving equal lifesteal to all allies.
  • Burst of Life now distributes the healing among all allies within 1 tile instead of healing a uniform amount. Healing increased from 4% to 6%. Negative effects are no longer removed.
  • Lifewell now distributes the healing among all allies within 1 tile instead of healing a uniform amount.
  • Wild axe now works in a cone from the target in a similar way to Kiros. Miss debuff is only applied to the primary target hit.
  • Vortex: Damage reduced from 75 down to 60.
  • Hibernate: Shield has been removed.
  • Adapt: Ability damage reduced from 50% down to 40%.
  • Adrenaline: Extra blunt damage taken reduced from 50% down to 15%.
  • Unnatural Growth: Extra magic damage taken reduced from 50% down to 25%.
  • Lone Wolf: Damage increased from [15/20/25] up to [15/22/30].
  • Poison Arrows: Damage reduced from 30 down to 24.
  • Dark Pact: Minion basic attack damage reduced from 44 down to 35.
  • Healing Affinity: Attack speed reduced from 0.3 down to 0.14. Healing increased from 15% up to 16%.
  • Negate: Damage increased from 5% to 6% of maximum life. Silence duration changed from 2 seconds to [1.2/1.8/2.4] seconds.
  • Energy Boots: Mana cost reduced from 2 down to 1. Shield per cell entered reduced from 80 down to 50.
  • Mana Shard: Level 2 now grants 200 mana, up from 150 mana.


[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]

  • Linux users should now correctly be able to see videos rendered in game.
  • Fixed a rare case where two spell damage boosts are added multiplicatively instead of additively. For example: Mana Hound with Hibernate and Magic Affinity.
  • Fixed a number of bugs with Powers not working correctly on Irali.
  • Fixed a bug where enemy attack lines were sometimes incorrect.
  • If a unit is silenced while casting a spell, it will now correctly be canceled.
  • Bloodletting will no longer re-apply itself when damaging units.
  • Damage numbers will now no longer appear if the damage was shielded.
  • Adapt will no longer cause Powers on the bearer to also deal Blunt damage.
  • Copying a board state to clipboard will now correctly remember unit targeting. Previous match board summaries will no longer be valid.
  • Fixed a rare bug where summoned units remain during the planning phase in the following round.

Get ready for Godsbane Season One!

After a month of fierce pre-season competition, Godsbane will be launching into Season One on the 8th of April!

The new season brings with it a rating reset for everyone, along with a new rating calculation system and further spaced out ranks. Season one also comes with a plethora of quality of life updates, bug fixes, and much-needed balance changes.

A new patch wouldn't be the same without more content! A new Earthen unit, The Rogue steps out of the shadows, ready to do battle! Hopefully your backline is prepared for her antics! Along with the Rogue comes several new Powers to toy with.

Finally, we have been consistently hard at work at improving the new player experience, and we'll make a few exciting announcements with the season launch!
