About the status of development as of October

We've received another status update from Daraneko.

Here's the status update for October.

We're finally nearing the end of development for Chapter 4.
And I've gotten all the artwork commissioned too, which is a huge relief.
I'm about to work on the skills for advanced classes, and I'm putting a lot of work into balancing and related aspects of the game. Once that's done, Chapter 4 will be more or less finished!

So what's next?
I think we should be able to release Chapter 4 sometime in mid-November.
I originally wanted to release Chapter 4 and the final chapter together, but it's been quite some time since the last update.
I'll continue to discuss with PLAYISM to decide on a definite release date.

And here's a sneak peek of some new artwork!
This is the last mid-boss out of the 3 you'll meet in Chapter 4.



I'm going to make this guy's battle just a little more unique.
You won't be able to defeat it in one battle, and will instead have to fight it multiple times while using certain mechanics to deal with it.

What else should I do...
That hole in its chest really looks like it should be shooting lasers, doesn't it?

About the status of development as of September

It's September.
Here's a status update.

As you may know, I've been feeling kind of sickly in July and August, but lately I'm finally starting to feel better.
I've felt sick for so long that it had almost become my new normal, but now that I'm getting better, I can look back and realize...
That I was NOT doing great at all.
I couldn't focus because of how tired I always was...

And since that was going on, well, uh... y'know. My progress is... not great.
I still haven't finished writing the events for Chapter 4. I'm wailing in misery.
I've said this over and over for a few months now, so I bet some of you are starting to doubt if I'm even doing anything at all.

But I am!! I'm making the game! I've made so much progress and I'm moving forward!!
Trust me!!!
Look! I even have new art to show you...!



Here's a new battle background, and the portrait of a mid-boss.
He looks sooo cool. I like him a lot.
I'm making several unique mid-bosses for Chapter 4, so I'm putting a lot of hard work into the battles.

Since I'm recovering now, I've gotta work even harder to make up for the time I've lost.
At the very least, I plan to finish writing all the text for Chapter 4 by mid-September, so that I can pass it on to the translators!

About the status of development as of August

We've received another status update from Daraneko.

It's already August.
Which means it's time for our monthly update.

First of all, I'm a little bit behind schedule.
Last month, I said I'd finish the events within the month, but I, uh, didn't.
Yeah, I'm gonna cry, actually.
I hope I can finish them as soon as possible so I can go work on the last chapter or fix balancing issues.

Whiile I'm doing that, I've also been commissioning artwork, and I've received something I can share with you all, so I will!
They're a couple of mooks you'll meet in Chapter 4.





Cool, aren't they?
I'm glad the illustrator understood my worldbuilding and came up with such good designs.
Whenever I look at the bigger guy, I can't help but think "Ooh I wanna scritch his chin so badly~"
Chapter 4 has a lot of bosses too, and currently the illustrator is drawing some mid-bosses based on these two.

I've been getting sick more often recently, and I never really knew the reason, but I've come to think that it might be my aircon.
When I'm sitting in front of the computer, the wind from my aircon blasts me directly, so I kept getting too cold. (But if I turned it off, I would melt and die!)

I'll do my best to stay healthy and keep working on the game.

It's July, which means it's time for our regularly-scheduled status update.

There really isn't much for me to say this month other than "I've been working on the events all month~"
I hope I can finish all the events this month.

But I can't just leave you at that, so I'll reveal a part of the map while I'm here.



The next stage will mainly take place inside a building.
I think it'll end up having a different mood from the other stages we've seen so far.

The illustrations are coming along pretty well too, so I should be able to introduce a new enemy or two by the next status update.

About the status of development as of June

We've received another status update from Daraneko.
Please give it a read.

It's June! Time for our regularly-scheduled status update.

As of now, development is going as planned.
This time, I've mainly been working on building up the foundations for things I'll have to work on in the future. Like these:
  • Commissioning art
  • Preparing data I'll need to make events with later (equipment, items, enemies, etc.)
  • Improving optimization
  • Improving debug functions


And here is where I'd usually show off some new art...
But it'll be a few months before the new art I commissioned gets made.
So I'll be making text-only updates until then.

Oh, but we've finished a new portrait for Goshe!
It's a spoiler, so I can't show it here, but I bet it's the kind of design everyone loves to see. I know I love to see it.
Please keep looking forward to it!

The next thing on my to-do list is to implement events on all of the maps.

It's one of the selling points of this game, isn't it?
It's also where I can write a looot of words and dialogue options, and then get stuck forever on a single line. Y'know, the usual.
It's also also where I get to think about how to put Goshe in the stupidest situations possible. It's the most enjoyable part of the process.
I'll be spending the next month working on this.
