Bug Fixes, Optimizations and More! - v0.25

Update v0.25 Is Live!

[h2]Changes:[/h2]
  • Added notification popup if you do not have enough money to dispose Waste and Toxic Waste.

  • Reversed the colors of the Waste and Toxic Waste Market Change Arrows (Up in price means bad for you so Up is now Red, Down is now Green meaning you pay less to dispose of the waste).

  • Updated tutorial.

  • Added check on Startup panel to reactivate the mouse if it happens to turn off.

  • Added checks for the furnace so you cannot overwrite the metal in the crucible by adding another metal.

  • Changed mouse activations from No Locking to Confined (meaning the mouse wont go over to a secondary screen).

  • Updated to a custom Mouse Cursor.

  • Added Random junk that spawns around the town to gain a little extra Raw Scrap.

  • Adjusted eWaste Starting spawn amount and Delay Timer (to compensate for the new 'Junk Items').

  • Optimised eWaste Item Script.

  • Updated Furnace Panel Visuals.

  • Fixed DVD Player Case able to be collected before finished scrapping.

  • Fixed Zoom after disassembling an Item now it automatically zooms out after finishing an eWaste Object or if you press F to exit disassembly mode.

  • Fixed Collider issue on the Scrap Yard Shop wall.

  • Fixed Incorrectly Displayed prices for the 1, 10 & 100 Buttons in the Scrap Yard Shop while hovering.

  • Fixed Tree Colliders.

  • Fixed Furnace Crucible Images overlapping on startup after loading.

  • Fixed Furnace Lid Animations if it is opened and closed too quickly.

Patch v0.024.2 Is Live!

  • Added fail checks to every Saving and Loading Function inside the Save and Load Script (this will hopefully stop the Infinite Loading bug and breaking your save, now only Corrupted Data will be missing from your save. using the new debug menu if you tell us what Failed to load, we should be able to fix it).

  • Updated Controls Page in Settings.

  • Added debug console (accessed by pressing 'F5') to help players Self Diagnose Issues, this saves players having to send in their save file to find the problem.

Patch v0.024.3 Is Live!

  • Added a Timeout for Loading saved Data, if it takes to long you will be presented with a Popup, you will be able to now continue your saved game, keep in mind that what ever object failed may be bugged in your save, please send us a bug report if someone hasn't already done so in regards to the same error.

  • Disabled some commands in the Debug Console.

  • Overhauled the Main Menu Visuals.

Patch v0.024.4 Is Live!

  • Added movement checks to the Scrap Yard Shop Interaction Method, to stop the Player floating away after activating the Scrap Yard Shop.

  • Added extra collider detections for objects that fall through the ground at a high velocity.

  • Added 'Unstuck' button to the 'Bug Fixes' Section in the Pause Menu.

  • Adjusted Prices of Materials.

  • Made Screws a lot more visable (changed the color from silver to white, which may not be as realistic though it will help for those struggling to see the small objects).

News - Discord Server Released!

Hi all!

After a few requests to get a Discord server up and running our server is now public and ready for the community to join.

Overtime we will upgrade the server to get proper invite link ect.

In regards to Update v0.24 - We are pushing to get this update out, at the moment we are having some issues getting the Baked lighting looking correct, we've been working on getting the baked lighting done in a higher quality though now some weird artifacts keep pooping up, or select objects just have some really messed up shadows, so after that gets sorted the update will be released!

News - Happy Easter Scrappers!

Hi all and Happy Easter to those who celebrate.

After a couple of days off to spend with family and friends I am excited to get back into developing Scrapping Simulator.

We have a few things planned for the next update, we are intending to prioritize flaws in current features, The priority list is currently:


  1. Character Overhaul - Remove Standard Unity Character and use more smoother more responsive Controller.

  2. Furnace Overhaul - Completely Redo the entire furnace setup, this may more resemble the Chemical Process in regards of having less interactable objects and more animations (this will fix all current issues with the Crucible not remembering its metal, temperatures not being reached, possiblity of losing the crucible)

  3. Saving/Loading System - We intend to fully redo the saving and loading system the intention for this is to stop all possibilites of random curruption occurring, also lowering the huge SaveFile size which in turn will lower the time it takes to load and save data.

  4. eWaste Object Optimistation - We are making some big changes to the eWaste objects, eWaste objects on the Streets are simply just a shell, they contain no innards like screws ect, though when you pickup the object thats when it Spawns the actual object containing all the bits and pieces, we are going to be changing this so the object with the innards only spawns once you attach the object to the Disassembly Table, we will have to incorperate this into the Saving and Loading System so that Non-Inner containing Objects are also saved, this is what will save a lot of time saving and loading.


!FORE WARNING!

This will likely mean that your old savefiles WILL become corrupt with said above changes. Measures will be taken to avoid the 'Forever Loading Loop' so to fix that if the Save File Version you are loading is on the list of Corruptable Versions, then clicking 'Continue' will be much the same as clicking 'Start New Game' and you will be prompted with a notification stating that your Old Save is no longer compatible with the New Version.
We do sincerly apologise for the loss of data we know this can be really annoying, though please understand that this is to fix current lingering issues and all these updates combined should really boost performance and the overall fell for the game.
