'Hanacamp' Development Journal (2/2/2021)

Heya! This is Limited here with another development journal for Hanacamp

It's finally February here and after some calculation, we realized that today is the 200 day anniversary since the start of development on Hanacamp 😉

Now that all the UI and setting components are finished, as a programmer there aren't that many things to do at the moment. However, this week we had a significant change in the scenario of Hanacamp.(Meaning, we had a lot of meetings.)

  1. 1) Scenario
First of all, as a team we had a chance to see the fully detailed scenario, written by our scenario writer, Mozzarella stick. It was great, except for the fact that the story itself was too ambitious and would require more assets than was budgeted. Therefore, we decided to give him more time to adjust the scenario so that it fits better in the context of a visual novel.

For those of you who don't know, Mozzarella stick is from the light novel industry. So it's a different work situation for him to consider how assets and programming fits into putting a project together.

In conclusion, though we aren't going exactly according to the original timeframe for Hanacamp, as director, I do not regret making him our scenario writer. At the end of the day, this is a visual "novel" and if the story is lacking in potential then as a team we can't call it a visual novel.

  2. 2) iOS Demo
Last week, we submitted Hanacamp to the iOS App Store but got rejected.

The reason, we were told is that demos are not allowed on the iOS App Store.

For that reason, we will launch Hana’s Campus Life with the content that's been finished thus far and when the full game is complete, we will remove the old version from the iOS App Store and submit the full version at that time.

As always, thank you for the huge amount of support!
I will see you guys again in next week's development journal.

'Hanacamp' Development Journal (1/27/2021)

Heya! This is Limited here with the next entry in our development journal for Hanacamp.

This week, we have a number of announcements to go over:

  • Completed DSCG system
  • New Initial Setting Screen
  • Ending Theme song

DSCG System

The Dynamic Story CG (DSCG) are CGs that show a character's backstory and other in-depth information. For example, there is a situation where Hana is with Si Eun but is not shown in the main story at all as you progress through the game but that scene can be explored via the DSCG Gallery.

This was a feature that came up in discussion towards the end of the development of the overarching system of Hanacamp. Due to that last minute addition, implementation was trickier than expected but it is now finished! Look forward to the "hidden" stories of Hanacamp when it comes out!

Initial Setting Screen

When you first start up Hanacamp, an initial settings screen will pop up with settings that users can set to help in progressing through the game. More details on what settings are available as we get closer to release.

Ending Theme of Hanacamp

The ending theme for Hanacamp is currently in progress. We are looking at our currently available budget for the voice actresses to sing the ending theme which will be more like a character song in essence. If you enjoyed the opening theme to Hanacamp then we're sure you'll love what we have in store for the ending theme.

Anyways, that's all the important news we have for this week. See ya later!

'Hanacamp' Development Journal (1/18/2021)

Heya, this is limited, the developer on Hana's Campus Life. Or as we like to call it, 'Hanacamp'.

Recently, the development of Hanacamp has become an integral part of my daily routine. I even feel a bit out of place when I am far from the computer haha...

Anyways, let's begin our development journal for this week.

0) Hanacamp Steam page is now live!

Thank you to Sekai Project for making this possible! :)

1) iOS Development

The port to iOS has been a success. So yes, Hanacamp will be available on iOS as well so look forward to that.

2) English Translation

The English translation for the game is also complete. We're sending it to our publisher, Sekai Project for QA work. If everything goes well, the demo will be ready soon.

That's it for this developer journal. See you next time!
