Tortured Hearts - Or How I Saved The Universe. Again. News

Summer Sale discount

Tortured Hearts is part of the Summer Sale now. Take your chance!

The Enhanced Version is still under construction. It does not yet load optimally in its current state. You can download it under the beta tab. I will update it shortly with the latest version, which is presumably better than the current one. The core system of the sequel is currently undergoing a major overhaul, mainly in terms of the way it is loaded and inventory items are managed.
Before you buy the game, please try the free demo! In this way, you can make sure TH gives you what you expect without risking anything. Thank you.

Please consider buying one of the BUNDLEs. This way you can get the games at a lower price.
The game is not compatible with Radeon cards due to Unity/Radeon issues!

Please read the pdf document attached on the Shop page. Also, study the in-game help, it has tons of information about the game.
If you are stuck, either me or other players will help you. Feel free to ask any question.
You can find a very spoilerish description about the first third of the game here (read it only if you are hopelessly stuck)

If you're a new player, here are 2 very important things you should keep in mind:

-In order to invoke a tooltip, you'll have to keep left shift pressed while the cursor is over the target. Items, buttons and even buff/debuff icons at the top of the screen have a tooltip.

-Keeping Space pressed highlights interactives around you. Items, placeables, friendly or neutral creatures will have a blue marker, enemies will have a red one.

------

The game is non-linear to the extreme. This means, there is no set path for your character. Basically you can go wherever you want (with a few so-called choke points). This, of course, has its downsides because you can stumble upon enemies or skill checks too difficult for your current character. Don't fret though, the game offers plenty of other things to do (combatless questing, exploration, crafting, finding lore, fun conversations) until you become more capable. It's always a good idea to stock up on good equipment and potions before engaging enemies. Companions are super helpful on many levels.
Neither the official nor the enhanced version work on Radeon cards due to Unity/Radeon issues! If you have a Radeon card, don't buy the game, unless you want to support me with the purchase.
Enhanced Version:
If you buy the game, consider trying the enhanced version that can be downloaded under the beta tab. There may be issues, but hopefully not game breakers. If you try it, please tell me if you stumble upon any problem. (like loading time or material glitches). Thank you.

You might also want to check this out, as it's the most important project of my life :)

Some news:

About three weeks ago, I made a big decision: I'm going to try to merge the TH sequel and the Newcomer Gold code, as the latter is much more flexible, simpler, more transparent, more modern and faster in many ways. As there are significant differences between the two, this is not an overnight process. Just to be able to compile the new code, I worked 10+ hours a day for a week. The conversion of the areas is in progress, at the moment it seems to be working, although inventory and buff management will be a major headache.
The last map of my card game is being tested.
The backgrounds for my sci-fi adventure game are finished, and I've made some changes compared to the code of the Newt game from which it is derived.
If all goes well, I will be able to publish these in the coming months.
Since I'm devoting most of my energy to scripting Newcomer Gold, the TH sequel is progressing slowly.

Some news:

My card game is not finished, because AI image generation is not a trivial task at all. It will only be ready next year.
As for the sequel to TH, I've made as much progress as writing about 20,000 words of dialogue, which is a significant improvement, especially considering how many things I have to do at the same time.

Some news:

I'm trying to finish my card game, it's under test after some hiatus. I replaced the backgrounds and also the portraits of protogonists to AI generated images. From now on I will frequently use AI generated imagery waiting for an even more advanced tech that makes it possible to create 3D models in the same way. NVIDA is working on one, but it's not public yet. Fingers crossed...
With this new technology, I will try to finish my unfinished small projects in the following months, but it's not that easy as it sounds, even with this stunning artificial helper.
In the meantime, I've created more new areas for the TH sequel, some big ones among them. Sylfeung will have an intricate sewers system, it seems. :)
