Hive Update #13 - Honeycomb arrives November 6, 2025

Hello Explorers!
[p][/p][p]Today we come to you with a bunch of highly anticipated news and trust me when I say that we’re as much excited as you are for this! [/p][p][/p]
Let’s start with a bang!
[p]We’ve prepared a new trailer just for you! Go watch it! It will be worth it![/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]
Yes we have a release date!
Set your calendars for the 6th of November! Finally you’ll be able to explore the wonderful and alien world of Sota7! So prepare your scientific tools, space suit and some headache pills (you’ll need them after cryosleep) and get ready to meet all of those fluffy (and some less so) animals. But survival isn’t all about the cute animals, to do so you’ll need to be prepared to look for drinking water, food sources and most important of all you still need to finish your important mission! So be sure to read that debrief.[/p][p][/p]
Meet our newest supporter!
[p]
We’ve got some BIG support from someone who all of you probably know! Please prepare a loud round of applause for Nvidia! With them we’re able to provide you with Nvidia DLSS 4, RTX and RTXDI! I could bore you with all the details on how it works and what it will do to the game but why don’t you see it for yourself![/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]
I must admit I got mesmerised by the water in that trailer! I know that your excitement is already through the roof but this Devlog is still far from over! Let’s move to the new stuff we’ve implemented to the beautiful world of Honeycomb The World Beyond![/p]
Catch Us at Gamescom!
[p]One more thing! If by any chance you’ll be visiting Gamescom, be sure to check us out! We’ll have our own stand as part of the Indie Arena Booth, and you’ll be able to play a fresh, content-packed demo of Honeycomb before release. Expect plenty of new features to discover, some cool merch to grab, and of course, a chance to chat with the team!
[/p]
Let’s start with something that I absolutely adore!
[p]As you might remember some time ago we’ve added small critters to the game. I’ve already shown you a rat, a bat and some insects. This time our small guest took a bit longer to get here… I mean how can you blame him![/p][p]
[/p][p]And while we’re on the topic of a hardy shell, please welcome the new addition to the big animals in the world of Sota7![/p][p]
[/p][p]
This big ball of scales will be for you to discover in the world of Sota7, all I can share with you is its name - Nango!
[/p][p]Well, speaking of learning and discovering, we’ve decided to change a bit the way you’ll be discovering stuff in Honeycomb: The World Beyond. Instead of using a lab centrifuge, you’ll need to craft yourself a handy scanner to catalogue all those handy (and some not so much) plants.[/p][p]
But the Scanner isn’t the only tech addition since last time! Perhaps you remember the drones that you’ll be able to fly around with. We have them ready to fly!
[/p][p][/p][p]It wouldn’t be a complete Devlog without our favourite scientist heroine! Now with all the technology provided by Nvidia![/p][p]
And with that accent, I think it’s about time we’ve finished this Devlog for now…[/p][p]
As always, we hear you and we read everything you say in the comments. If you want more Honeycomb: The World Beyond, remember to join our social media. If you don't want to miss any future Devlogs, consider adding Honeycomb: The World Beyond to your wishlist and joining our Discord![/p][p]

Hive Update #12 - Climbing Closer!

Hello Explorers!
[p][/p][p]Long time no see! Another month, another batch of information regarding Honeycomb: The World Beyond! Before we dive into the content of the Devlog, I invite you to join our stream! Jump onto our Steam Page and see the newest changes for yourself![/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]Have you enjoyed it? Good. Now let’s move on to the real content in this Devlog! [/p]

Let’s climb to the best of content!
[p]I won’t bore you with the new changes to our technologies or the latest texture optimisation, but I can show you a bit of improvements and new additions to the game!

As the title suggests, we’ve added a new mechanic for you to use while exploring.

[/p][p]With this, we can give you some more means of vertical exploration in the world of Sota7.

While we’re still talking about exploration, let’s take a quick look at the tools available in your bioengineer arsenal. After all, your legs aren’t the only thing that you’ll need to explore…

[/p][p]Let’s move our attention to the new and redesigned station for your future labs! I won’t spoil you with the names of all the machines that you’re about to see, just to keep some of them for you to build when your turn to play comes, but let's be honest, we all remember what our multicooker used to look like!

Continuing the topic of redesign and reimagination, let’s take a look at the light and other improvements to our map. Many small changes can contribute to significant transformations!

Who would have guessed that Sota7 would look so wonderful!

Exploration goes hand in hand with resource gathering. We decided to upgrade that mechanic as well, adding some new VFX, so it feels more enjoyable to gather those highly needed metals or plants.

[/p][p]I do like those leafy effects!

And lastly, on our agenda is something you haven’t been able to see in the stream (which includes some new content we haven’t shown in this Devlog) and with the new improvements, nights on Sota never looked so wonderful!

[/p][p]And lastly, it wouldn’t be a Honeycomb’s Devlog if we hadn’t included a Hennessy riding a hoverboard!

[/p]

[p]
As always, we hear you and we read everything you say in the comments. If you want more Honeycomb: The World Beyond, remember to join our social media. If you don't want to miss any future Devlogs, consider adding Honeycomb: The World Beyond to your wishlist and joining our Discord!

[/p][p][/p][p]Until the next time!

Honeycomb: The World Beyond GDC 2025 Trailer and Dev Log
Hello Explorers!
Must say it’s been some time since we shared some information about Honeycomb: The World Beyond with you. But today, that changes! We proudly announce that we’re ready to present you with a new trailer!

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
After that warm welcome, let’s dive straight into the juicy content!

Beauty of the Planet
Last months have been very fruitful in all aspects of Honeycomb’s development. From the technical stuff to graphical changes and even the main story of the game(but let’s not get away with the spoilers).

Here’s a little screenshot straight from the in-game photo mode! Look how much Hennessy and the world around her has changed!

Those more observant of you might notice that the entire lightning has been improved a bit. In truth, we had to do it just so we could take more cool and dreamy scenes. Just like this one…

Let’s just say our Concept Artists keep working on some amazing stuff…
With the cat out of the bag - or should I say fireflies just above our hands - we also wanted to share with you some of the stuff we keep working on. Even though our team is working their hardest, they still manage to surprise us with the new things they’ve designed for the game.

It lives!
Trees won’t bring much life to the game unless we ensure that the entire world feels truly alive…

But don’t worry, we’ve thought it through! Now, Hennessy isn’t just focused on what’s beneath her feet - she also has to pay attention to what’s happening above.

Additionally, as you approach animals, you can scan them to gather valuable information. But be careful - not all of them will be happy about it! Sometimes, you’ll need to find a way to gain their trust and get closer.

And what is this mysterious creature?

Camilla! How’re you doing these days?

Look how beautiful the Amber Tree looks by the water!

We’ve also wanted to thank you all for such a warm welcome at the GDC! We’ve heard so many warm words of support from those of you who have visited our stand, listened to one of our Dev’s presentation and watched the trailer before we’ve revealed it for all of our viewers!

Just one more Hennessy for a better goodbye…

With that in mind we’ve arrived at the end of this Devlog. There’s still some road ahead of us before the release but the end is already clarifying itself for us. As always we hear you and we read everything you say in the comments. If you want more Honeycomb: The World Beyond, remember to join our social media. If you don't want to miss any future Devlogs, consider adding Honeycomb: The World Beyond to your wishlist and join our Discord!

Hive Update #11: Huge Publisher Changes!
Hello Explorers!
We’ve been silent for some time, but the work has been going strong for the past few months. But it all came down to this important message…

Please welcome our new Publishers with a round of applause!

We want to create something special and unique with our new friends at Snail Games USA. They’re the publishers of many incredible titles. But you probably know them most via ARK: Survival Evolved!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/346110/ARK_Survival_Evolved/

With that in mind, we would like to ask you for a bit more time to tie it all together before we publish a unique survival experience for you - our dearest players!

With the important stuff already out of the bag, let’s give you guys a quick development update.

Let’s start with the usual…
To kick things off, we wanted to show you something really cool! Here's a video made by one of our testers, where we're building a base. Base building is one of the key features of the game, and we can't wait to see your own creations!

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

After your in-depth feedback about Hennessy, we decided to change her a bit.
From now on, you'll be able to place a mirror in your labs to change her hairstyle (don’t worry, we left her beautiful red hair in place).

She looks so much younger with longer hair!

Next on our agenda are a bunch of new critters that will make the world of Honeycomb: The World Beyond even more alive.

I need to get a piece of cheese for that cute ratsy creature…🧀

Our concept artists are also hard at work with new projects that we could bring into the game. Here are a few new projects they’ve finished drawing in the last few weeks.

Artificial Nest

What’s Honeycomb without bees? (And butterflies)

Slime-like critters

In another quick peek, during the last beta test, we were able to gather a lot of feedback regarding the AR mode. From what we gathered, we decided to edit the effects to increase overall visibility within Sota7.

Underground veins of ore were never so visible!

And here comes the time to say goodbye… At least for now!
If you want to see our team once again: Here’s a little summary of PAX West we attended at the end of Summer:

That wraps it up for today. If you want more Honeycomb: The World Beyond, remember to join our social media. If you don't want to miss any future Devlogs, consider adding Honeycomb: The World Beyond to your wishlist and join our Discord!
