DD# 201 The 200th Week
Hi, everyone. Welcome to the developer's diary of the 200th week of this game on Steam!
Unfortunately, this is not a very productive week because it's also the birthday season for many members of our little community. I have some interesting parties or celebrating events to attend almost every day, and there is still another one this weekend. Meanwhile, the courts in China usually rush to finish some unfinished cases in December, just like some students rush to finish their studies before exams, which is also keeping me a bit busy in my legal business.
Anyway, let's start to cover this week's updated content.
As it's the birthday season, I think we should get more cakes. So, let's head to the bakeries.
All bakeries in the game now also sell all kinds of fruit cakes in addition to those both delicious and formidable baguettes. Well, talking about baguettes, in addition to using them as food and melee weapons, I just discovered they can have another usage.
They can be RPG warheads! It's inspired by some of our French friends when we were joking around. (Well, why not? RPGs currently have fewer weapon components available than other firearms. So, one more funny one will not hurt. :D)
It can turn any RPG's ammo type into baguettes, which are 90% cheaper than normal RPG missiles at the cost of the weapon's power. (You are unlikely to use it to take down an eldritch horror. But it may still be powerful enough to obliterate some cultists. :D )
Of course, such a weapon can be viewed as a kind of HERESY!
You know who likes to shout "HERESY!" ?
The inquisitors. You may have heard people talking about the Inquisition branch of the Samujier Church. But now, we get the first Inquisition character to appear in the command center of the Fjordr frontline, where the Nise army is fighting supernatural machine entities.
After the incident at the east barricade, you can find her arguing with a local commanding officer, denouncing his soldiers' lack of faith.
A bit away from the cold north frontline, the Illuminati field office in Hottle also received some updates.
Their building now has their all-seeing eye symbol marked on the wall.
Their iconic gas masks also received an update, allowing them to have various prefixes.
In case you missed the one in Queensmouth, this office has a 3D-printed blueprint of the gas mask. You can also purchase gas masks from their merchant here. However, he only sells the ones without prefixes. Thus, it may still be better to craft your own gas masks.
Meanwhile, in the Dark Alley of Liu, the shade corruption can now start to taint local gangsters.
They are no longer human but mind-controlled shade creatures. They also no longer drop their normal loots but the shade-tainted versions. As the chance and the number of their appearance are linked to the local supernatural awareness, you can actively influence this. Should you embrace the power of the shade or want their more powerful shade-tainted equipment, you may want to increase the supernatural awareness fast and even actively spread the corruption at the cost of the relationship with other secret societies. Alternatively, you may also try to combat it to maintain a normal facet for as long as possible.
