20220301 My Excuse on the Unusual Slowed Update. Sorry.
Hi everyone. Unfortunately, the situation of my rescue mission is not going quite well right now.
The friend of my friend that I mentioned in the update log 20220227

is facing several criminal charges that may or may not be based on some police officers' inducement.
It's likely he pleaded guilty to something he may not have done. That gets him in great trouble. (It requires my further investigation to find out what exactly happened.)
The friend that asked for my help is a long-time friend of mine for more than a decade since the age of 66RPG. I shall consider his friend as my friend and I shall put in some great efforts to help. I always value friendships especially not many friends from those ancient days still remain. So I got in there as his defense lawyer (appointed by his family) today, entering the detention center where he is held. A meeting will be arranged on Friday when I can meet him through a screen to see what I can do.
It's never easy to be a criminal defense lawyer in China as it's usually one or two lawyers against the whole police, prosecutors, and even the judges. It's rare to find any acquittal judgment in China. But, I'm not someone who will abandon a friend because of that.
Because of some ridiculous "counter COVID-19 methods" in China. I have to wear this the whole time when I'm inside the detention center. Fun fact: that detention center is in some rural areas that are not even marked on maps. I have to drive about 2 hours to just get there every time.
But, you know if any one of you gets into any similar troubles, I will try to do the same to you as well.
Anyway, hopefully, I can get things sorted out and stabilize the situation shortly.
