DD#191 A Memory to Carry On
Hi everyone, welcome to the last developer's diary of September 2024.
This week, once again we have a wide range of diverse content.
1. Jiru Expansion to the East
The adventure continues as we delve deeper into Jiru Island! This week, we journeyed further east of Fjordr, reaching the mysterious Chillwind Valley. Long-time players will recognize the historical significance of this location, as its tale has been woven into the fabric of our game for over 20 years. During the era of SAPC, Chillwind Valley was the battleground for a decisive clash between good and evil, shaping the Nise Federation as we know it. In the era of SAPC++, the ghosts of that epic struggle still linger, locked in eternal conflict. Now, this legendary location re-emerges in our current world.
But fear not, this isn't just an empty expanse. Brace yourself for encounters with new Yeti enemies!
And guess what? You can even turn them into your loyal pets!
2, The Journey from the Past Continues
As previously hinted, the Dark Elf King awaits us in Fjordr. From there, we embark on a quest to reunite with our old allies from past adventures.
After 20 long years, will these allies still be around Beyond their Journey's End? If not, will you carry their memory forward into the future?
3, Something New from This Reality
Just like in our journey in the past 20 years, real-life events always bring me new inspiration. As such, we always have new content related to such events. Now, here we just got another one.
The Attack of Pagers (based on Israel's recent attack on the Hezbollah terrorists.)
It's a hacking scale which means the effect is scaled based on the user's programming skills.
What makes it very unique is that, unlike most other hacking skills that target machine enemies, this skill is mainly used on non-machine targets that carry electronic devices. Such devices can be pagers, walkie-talkies, phones, tablets, or just anything someone can carry. As a surprise attack, it even has a very high chance to stun its targets. If you have quite high programming skills, it's quite possible to one-shot kill the target.
Oh, by the way...
Do Orcs use pagers? Asking for a friend. :P
Well, it does not matter. You can hack a lot of different targets and make their electronic devices go boom in this game that absolutely includes those orcs.
You can acquire a hack tool from the GPA organization that comes with this new skill.

4, A Quick Way to Return Home
Traveling back to your safehouse or pocket dimension just got easier! Introducing the Scroll of Home Portal:
This new scroll allows you to teleport back to any location defined as “home” in the game. It’s a convenient addition to doorways and Butterfly Wings, making it simpler to leave major areas quickly.
However, once again, let's not forget in real life there are currently still many people who cannot return to their homes at this moment. Some are kidnapped, and some have their home destroyed by invaders. Hopefully, humanity can have a future where such things never happen again one day.
5, The Conclusion of the Main Quest in Fjordr
After confronting the Aten Preacher in Fjordr, you can uncover a twisted truth and decide his fate. Explore his hideout to find clues leading to your next investigation and loot imbued with the power of the sun. This marks the end of the main story in Fjordr, but the journey continues as we chase the conspiracy of the Day Break.
That shall cover the most part of this week's update. Of course, there are some other things now mentioned such as a new skill for some cute pets that can reduce enemies' hatred towards them. Please feel free to read the full update log below if you are interested.
