Hi, everyone. Welcome to another week's developer's diary.
This week, the development in Qinuyi Island continues. The main focus is on some of the infrastructure inside the town.
The Hotel
As a town at the geographical center of the Nise Federation, Qinuyi has many visitors. Thus, the town obviously needs a hotel. Thus, we have one known as "Phantom Tide Lodge" added in this week's updates. You can order your room and some drinks at the front desk. Alternatively, you can just go upstairs, pick some locks, and occupy a room for yourself. Just be careful, not all rooms are empty. You may accidentally break into something horrible.
As a town promoting magic power, the employees of the lodge are very open-minded. They don't mind you doing anything in your room as long as you don't bother other customers. They even sell some special drinks for customers with their unique taste. They also provide condoms in their hotel rooms.
Oh, well. That's just for fun. No real functions in the game right now other than you may be able to sell them to some merchants or recycle them to get some rubbers. In real life, you don't need to visit a hotel located in a magic town to see those. They seem quite common nowadays in many hotels all over the world even in some quite conservative places such as China.
The Magic Shop
As a town with strong magic power, it shall also have its magic shop. Thus, a shop known as Enchantopia Elegance Emporium was also added during this week's updates.
For common adventurers. There are different magic tricks ranging from those that can grant you light/mirror/guardian spells to protect you from close-range physical attacks to those that can manipulate your skill check results or item appearances.
For alchemists. There are different ingredients and a book that teaches alchemy skills in their inventory. You are also free to use their devices to make your potions. Or, you can also use them to cook some food.
For spellcasters, they provide magic staffs and off-hand spell books that can enhance the power of one of the user's elemental attribution. Those weapons are specifically made for spellcasters. They are rarely found in the "normal" side of the world or even in many other parts of the Nise Archipelago. With more tools for spellcasters that will come in future updates, they may become even more handy to create magic-based builds.
That's for Qinuyi Island.
But, we also have other updates for this week.
1, The heavy units of the Nise Federation now have their combat animations
Depending on your choices, they may be your friends or foes in future stories. One of them is currently guarding the entrance towards the Jiru Island which will be the main stage of Chapter 3 of the main story.
For now, you can use this appearance on your main character or any of your customized teammates.
2, A new faith that worships The Great Pestilence.
When Una was making her Nurgle mod, I also had a similar idea in mind. Thus, here comes the faith of the Great Pestilence. The bonus of this faith has some similarities to the Nurgle worship in Una's mod. They both welcome poison. They heal instead of getting damaged when they are poisoned. But, their cultural background and stories are quite different. Many belief systems in the world can have their own interpolation on a plague god. Even in the Bible, there are mentions that the first Horseman of the Apocalypse will come, raiding on his white horse with the power of Pestilence to conquer the world. In some religious texts, this rider is also viewed as the Antichrist or an Archenemy. Thus, he certainly can have his own faith to gather his followers instead of being a sub-faith of another religion.
You can learn about the existence of this faith by talking to Inaba ' The Witch' in Katan.
Or, you may find one of his less friendly followers if you pick a certain lock and break into a certain room of the "Phantom Tide Lodge" as mentioned above.
3, A new DLC

Well, don't get too excited. This is a very light-weighted DLC to test Steam's DLC system.
Its sole functionality is to unlock the entire "Gallery of Memories" of the base game.
Those 3D cutscenes are one of the most distinguishing features of this game compared to other RPG Maker games. Just a content warning here, some of them have sexual, nudity, and violent scenes. They may not be suitable for all players in all locations to watch.
Meanwhile, You absolutely have no need for this DLC as everything can be unlocked through normal gameplay.
But, for those who want a shortcut, I think I can allow them to have it. Because there are many different ways to play this game. Yet, that's not going to be free. After all, I would prefer people actually play the game instead of using the unlocker. We have way too much fast food already nowadays. As a wise person once said, boobs are temporal, the glory of our game is eternal. So, it's all up to you. But the choice is here. The planned release date is Feb 12th or 13th depending on where you live.
