The Pegasus Expedition News

Your feedback has brought another update!

We greet you again, Directors,

Thanks to you and your ongoing feedback we were able to locate and address more issues in the Pegasus galaxy. So there's nothing to wait for, update your game and enjoy the improved gameplay!

Early Access is partially about tweaking and polishing the game as much as possible, so, please, keep doing what you're doing, provide us with that feedback, point out those issues and let us know about them here on Steam or on our Discord server, we will be happy to hear from you!

And if you like The Pegasus Expedition, consider giving us a positive review here on Steam, it really does help, not only by boosting our confidence!
Changes:
• Changes to the Attack on Anabah quest: There is now a timer of 15 turns, and if the player doesn't succeed, the Empire has her fleets readied and will start an extremely strong offensive. Succeeding within those 15 turns is recommended.
• Changes to the Tamanin Empire behaviour: The Empire can commence few smaller military operations even before the point when their mobilization is ready. Previously they would be very passive despite having just declared war.
• Station combat power will now be shown in the pre-combat view so that the player knows their impact to the battle.
• Small changes to the starmap around Yksae system of the Ror-clan to make their territory more defendable.
• The Portal fleet is now called "The Second Portal", its sprite has been updated, and its location is shown as a beam in order to differentiate it from normal fleets.
• Changed description of the quest Final Push to make it clearer what the player is expected to do.
• Hanoar Clique will now have defense stations on its own territory, to give them a more fair chance.
• The Portal "star" on the map had it's sprite updated to match its appearance elsewhere
• Nemesis fleets have been renamed to Nemesis fleets, instead of normal naming system
Fixes:
• Fixed some missing localization lines
• Denying a protectorate proposal could lead to the same faction proposing it over and over
• Player wasn't always able to build Tier 3 ships properly, and in proper quantities
• The end game quest involving the foothold in N214R could get stuck and block progression, it has been fixed
• Hiring a governor when there were only human options could still lower reputation
• Decontamination will clear stations properly, earlier the infestation could remain
• Language selector supports widescreen
• Fixed a bug where AI turn could last forever
• The stars in a late game location called Test-1, Test-2 etc. are now named properly
• Some technology prices were incorrect, they have been fixed.
• Defend against the Hanoar Offensive - quest could be shown twice, leaving the second one active forever even after completion.

Another update for The Pegasus Expedition!

Greetings Directors,

The Pegasus Expedition has been swimming in the Early Access waters for two weeks now. During that time, many of you were able to play the game and provided us with a lot of feedback, which we are really grateful for!

Indeed, this update focuses on changing / fixing / tweaking things that you, our dearest community, pointed out. Please, keep doing that, it really helps us make The Pegasus Expedition a game all of you can enjoy as much as possible - so go on, give us more tips and suggestions so we can improve it further!

Here are some perfect places where to do that: Kalla Gameworks Discord server, Fulqrum Publishing Discord server, The Pegasus Expedition Steam forums. Also don't forget to write a review of the game if you like it, it helps more than you may think.
Changes:
• Improved optimisation of GPU usage and performance.
• The start of the game has been made a little easier by giving the player more starting resources and reinforcements, and adjusting the Ror Clan AI.
• Capturing territory from the Hanoar Clique right after it spawned was too easy, they now have their fleets ready earlier.
• Transit stations and their tutorialisation have been moved further into the campaign from the start, as they are unnecessary in the beginning.
• Visual distinction between a harvestable asteroid belt and a non-harvestable asteroid belt has been made clearer.
• The Tamanin Empire was able to declare war very quickly after diplomatic contact even if the player hadn't acted aggressively. They will now wait longer if the player doesn’t provoke them.
Fixes:
• The player was able to end their turn before their first move in the campaign, they now need to make their first move.
• Removing a Supply hub didn’t remove the energy price correctly, that has been fixed.
• Upgrading a settlement to a colony would not correctly be counted in the quest counter.
• Fixed a possible freeze in Maelstyrakh sidequest, and a false notification telling the players allies refused an alliance they actually did not refuse.
• Station Construction and Repair could become available earlier than intended.
• The first Galactic Reputation pop-up could come up too early.
• Saving and then loading could deplete a fleet’s movement points if located in foreign territory.
Change log:
Changes:
• Made Ror clan more passive at the start of the game (Requires new game)
• Repair has been made somewhat cheaper and the duration has been capped to 6 turns
• Adjusted the behaviour of the Daras-faction, which has been acting too expansively (affects only New Game, not existing saves)
• The game now uses Steam Cloud saving system

Fixes:
• Fix to a black screen crash issue affecting especially older machines and computers with Windows 7
• Hotfix for a bug with "Foothold secured in N214R galaxy" which blocked some players' progress. (affects only saves from before receiving the troublesome quest)
• Fixed missing subtitles from chapter 2 cutscene
• Fixed low happiness affecting resources generation incorrectly
• Fixed issue of player being able to capture Otokhot, a quest objective for Maelstyrakh Civil war quest too early and the quest not recognizing it. (only for saves from before capturing Otokhot too early)
• Fixed that upgrading a structure would often replace a wrong building with the upgraded one, not the one being upgraded.
• Fixed issue of Anabah Movement spawning without war and being friendly. Now they are permanently at war with the player
• Fixed an issue with the protectorate event chain not resetting when it should be refused by the player.
• Refusing Maelstyrakh Civil War quest would not always remove movement restrictions tied to it.

The current development priorities and upcoming update(s)

Greetings Directors,

The Pegasus Expedition, even in its Early Access release form, is quite a complex and long game; this makes finding and fixing bugs challenging, and properly testing fixes a time-consuming process as well. Rest assured we are hard at work and thanks to the amount of information you, our community, have provided (we cannot stress enough how much we appreciate that, please, keep all your feedback coming), we will be releasing a patch fixing many of the following issues in the coming days.

We believe we have successfully resolved these most critical issues, but testing to make sure everything works properly still takes time, we humbly ask for a little more patience:
• Certain operating system language-related issues that prevented launching a New Game
• Operating system and system’s processing-related crash that prevented Launching a New Game
• A bug blocking progress for some players in the quest objective “Foothold secured” in a very late part of the game.
• “Attack Otokhot” quest objective could remain unfulfilled forever as the game wouldn’t notice the player had conquered it in an earlier part of the quest.
• Low happiness penalties were often regarded as bonuses, instead of penalties
• The Ror clan was too powerful and aggressive in the very beginning of the game. They will now take a bit longer to recover from the initial shock of the player's arrival, and the player will begin with a bit stronger force.
• Upgrade button would sometimes remove the wrong building to replace with the upgraded building.
• Rebalancing the Repair system, there is now a 6-turn max cap for repair time, and missile salvos and strategic weapons will now have a cheaper refill price.

We are also working on slightly less serious issues and bugs, which might come in a separate patch a few days later:
• Anabah Movement could appear without declaring war, causing unintended situations.
• Daras acted very aggressively and expansively, often contrary to their intended behaviour. Their behaviour has been enhanced to be more in line with their declared intentions.
• Daras would also get their fleets stuck in ex-Tamanin Empire territory, they no longer will venture there too early.
• Refusing a certain meeting after the destruction of the Pegasus Republic could result in wrong ending lines.
• Fixed some string ID:s showing instead of intended text.
• Fixed some typos found in the text.

We are also aware of the feedback on tutorials, and we will be making them more fleshed out, with additional visual elements supplementing text. This will however take more than a few days to properly prepare. In the meantime, you can refer to a beginner's guide we have prepared - let us know if anything in it is still unclear and we can update that much more easily!

We are humbled by the interest our game generated, and the amount of feedback we are getting - but we can always use more, please, don't hesitate and post all positive and negative feedback either here on Steam in the discussions, or on our Discord server.
