Patch Notes: v0.4.5

We are thrilled to bring you the latest update for DYSTERRA, packed with exciting new features, improvements, and bug fixes. This update introduces an enhanced Perk System, empowering players to level up their perks for additional effects and faster progression. The Hologram Decoy receives an update, allowing turrets and mobs to recognize it as a threat. We've also expanded the Titanium acquisition path, making it easier to obtain both fine and regular Titanium. Additionally, we've made various improvements and addressed several bugs to enhance your gameplay experience. Read on for more details!

Here's a breakdown of what to expect:

Enhanced Perk System:

Introducing the new Perk Upgrade feature.
Players can now level up their perks by using three cards of the same level and TP to ascend their gameplay to the next level.
Leveling up grants random additional effects, aiding your progression in the game.

Hologram Decoy Update:

Turrets and NPCs now recognize decoys as hostile entities and will attempt to attack them. Since attacking a ‘hologram’ shouldn’t be possible, we’re changing its name to ‘Dummy Decoy’. Use dummy decoys strategically in housing areas or in areas with high mob density to divert their attention and gain a tactical advantage.

Expanded Titanium Acquisition Path:

Obtaining fine and regular titanium has become more accessible. Defeat Juggernauts to obtain fine titanium, and acquire regular titanium through advanced supply pods.

Weapons Balancing

After carefully evaluating player feedback and analyzing gameplay data, we have identified an opportunity to further enhance the balance of our game. As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure an optimal gaming experience, we have made adjustments to the siege hammers and their impact on housing walls. These changes aim to fine-tune the gameplay mechanics and provide a more balanced and enjoyable experience for all players.
Please take note of the following changes:

Siege Hammer IGX-1:
Attack Power: 90 pts
Housing Multiplier: 100% ➡️ 78%
Housing Attack Power: 90 pts ➡️ 70 pts
Siege Hammer IGXX-100:
Attack Power: 110 pts
Housing Multiplier: 200% ➡️ 132%
Housing Attack Power: 220 pts ➡️ 145 pts

Additional Improvements:

🔹 In Single Player mode, pressing the system menu (ESC) now pauses the world.

🔹 In the lobby, clicking ‘continue’ in the single player menu will open the world settings options.

🔹 Increased the maximum HP of the Integrated Utility Controller from 1,000 to 5,000. (The increase in max HP does not mean a reduction in the existing HP.) Any Integrated Utility Controllers that are currently installed can be reinforced through repairs to match the increased maximum HP.

🔹Notification added when attempting to gather items while inventory is full.

🔹 Reduced Satellite Station cooldown time, as well as the expiration time of the Satellite Station Chip from 5 hours to 2 hours.

🔹 Enhanced mantling mechanics, expanding the allowable range and increasing speed.

🔹 Improved animation responsiveness when acquiring resources while holding a firearm.

🔹 Adjusted firearm sound effects to match magazine consumption. (i.e. 5 bullets = 5 shots heard)

Bug Fixes:

🔹 Fixed an issue where vehicles could pass through the surfaces when at high speeds.

🔹 Resolved an issue where ¼ foundations could be built on top of base foundations.

🔹 Fixed instances where turrets connected to certain building cores would mistakenly target friendly entities (= players registered to the building core).

🔹 Addressed an issue where post-teleportation invincibility time was canceled upon entering the escape rocket immediately after teleportation.

🔹 Resolved an issue where trees would regenerate on top of foundations.

Thank you for your continued support and valuable feedback. We hope you enjoy this update and wish you the best of luck in your survival journey!

Notice to Players

Notice to Players
Underwater Base Placement Restrictions

Dear Survivors,

We would like to address an issue regarding the placement of bases underwater. Please note that placing cores, turrets, chests, or any other functional equipment(forges, recyclers, etc.) underwater is not allowed.

1. Placing foundations, walls, etc. underwater IS allowed.
2. Due to the unfair advantage against looting, cores, turrets, chests, and other non-decorative items must all be above the water line at all times.

If your base violates the above guidelines, we kindly request that you relocate your base by this Wednesday evening at 12:00 midnight (PST) (= Thursday, 9:00 AM in Europe, Thursday, 4:00 PM in Korea).

Failure to comply will result in the destruction of all base parts, including cores, turrets, and storage containers, located underwater.

Furthermore, please be aware that any player found installing cores underwater after this notice will be considered as exploiting bugs and will be dealt with accordingly.

Thank you for your attention and cooperation in maintaining a fair gaming environment.

Best regards, The DYSTERRA Team

BIONIC BOOST Event

‘BIONIC BOOST’ Event

This weekend, all of our servers will have a ‘BIONIC BOOST’ event!! It will be active for 48 hours from midnight on Friday, June 9th (PST) to midnight on Sunday, June 11th.

Your cybernetic arm will receive a temporary augmentation, increasing your ability to gather resources.

Official Servers will have a 2x gathering boost. Excluding special items like keys, all gathering will be doubled over the weekend. This includes terrasite, stone, and metal, as well as all containers and NPCs around Ararat Island.

Patch Notes: v0.4.4

Our development team in Korea is hard working on optimizing the game for future updates, so this week’s patch is a bit small. We’re patching the map to eliminate unfair bases, as well as making some small changes to the mob loot drop table.

Unfair Base Locations Gone!

Players were building their bases in unfair locations, often using bugs to build in locations where it was completely impossible to attack their base.

We’ve blocked off areas that we deemed overly unfair to make sure that everyone has a chance at being looted. We may have missed some spots, though, so let us know if you find a base that is 100% impossible to attack, and we’ll patch that spot up.

We still want the map to have easily defendable locations, and hidden locations. The goal of this update is simply to eliminate spots around the map that were impossible to loot.

Changes to Mob Drops

Please note that some mob drops have changed. Low-level Hyena troops can now drop both Silicon Fiber and Microparts. Stompers will now drop Fine Silicon Fiber.

Fixes and Improvements

🔹 Fixed issue where turrets weren’t attacking NPCs.

New Mob in the works!

We’ve been working on a new mob! I can’t quite reveal when this cute guy’ll be in the game, but I’m excited to see a new non-humanoid mob in the game!

Important Notice Regarding Building Placement and Core Removal
Important Notice Regarding Building Placement and Core Removal
Dear Survivors,

We would like to address an issue that has come to our attention regarding unfair practices in building placement within the game. It has come to our attention that some players have constructed their homes (i.e., installed building cores) in areas that were intended to be inaccessible.
tl;dr:
Some players are building bases in areas that are impossible to raid. We plan on blocking access to these locations. If your base is in such a location, and you don’t move your base by Monday, June 5th, you’ll be out of luck, and have to start over from scratch. If you’re unsure about your base location, message Dev_Armond your X,Y coordinates, and he’ll let you know.

In order to rectify this situation and maintain a fair and balanced gameplay experience for all, we have decided to implement the following measures:

Relocation Grace Period: 🕑

Players who have built their homes in these restricted areas will be given a grace period to relocate their dwellings lasting until June 5th, 0:00 AM (PST) . During this time, you will have the opportunity to move your homes to a permissible location.

Core Removal: 💥

Following the grace period, our development team will directly remove the building cores in the restricted areas. Please be aware that in the next update, access to these areas will be restricted, and building in said locations will no longer be possible.

We understand that this decision may inconvenience some players. However, it is necessary to maintain fairness and ensure an enjoyable gaming experience for everyone. We urge affected players to take advantage of the relocation grace period and move their homes accordingly.

If you encounter similar instances of impossible-to-raid locations in other areas, we kindly request that you report them via DM to our Discord channel "Dev_Armond." Our QA team and I will promptly review and address these reports.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in creating a fair and balanced gaming environment. We appreciate your support.
