Patch Notes: v0.3.4

Greetings from Orbis!
We’ll be releasing a big update next week with some new features that I’m sure you’ll all love, so this week is mostly some small balance changes and bug fixes to keep everything running smoothly on Ararat Island. Keep reading to learn what’s new this week in our 0.3.4 patch.

And I have a small surprise at the end for those of you that read the entire game note!

TFT-K7 Recipe Change 🔫

We changed the recipe for the TFT-K7 Legendary gun to put its cost more in line with the other legendary weapons.

Before
2 fine reactors
After
6 fine reactors

Transmitter Store Changes 🏷️

Like I said in last week’s patch note, we’ve started changing out the contents of the transmitter store every week. We’ll be testing different changes over the coming weeks to balance the use of the transmitter store and to stop people from abusing it

This week we’ll be slightly reducing the number of high level weapons and armor that are available.

Recycler Recipe Changes 🔧

Now that more high level equipment is purchasable in the transmitter store, we need to balance their recycling recipes to keep players from abusing the store to farm high level items.

1. Epic gear will no longer break down into superior terrasite.
2. Legendary gear (gold) will no longer break down into an energy core or a fine reactor.

Cyclops Melee Animation 👊

The cyclops used to slash downward when attacking with its melee weapon. Now it will jab forward instead.

Level 1 Foundations and Walls 🏡

We reduced the bolt cost for level 1 base building. All level 1 parts will now only require 1 bolt apiece.

Added Uninstall code for Uncheater 🔧

We realized that Uncheater wasn’t being uninstalled along with the game. We added code to our uninstall script to make sure that uncheater is being uninstalled.

Terrafire: Controller Bug 🐛

There was a recent bug where players were able to use controllers to reduce the remaining lifespan of a server AFTER the terrafire countdown started. We’ve fixed the bug.

What’s in the pipeline?

And to finish off this week’s game note, here are two picture previews of what you can expect in our upcoming update.

Patch Notes: v0.3.3

Greetings from Orbis, survivors!

This week’s patch is a bit smaller than usual. Our team has been hard at work making content for season 3 of Dysterra, so I hope you’ll understand that there are quite a few new things in the pipeline.

This update adds more variety to the items available in the Terrasite Transmitter. We’ve also made a tweak to the server selection UI, and added new functionality to the vehicle workshops F-hold menu.

Changes to the Transmitter Store 🏷️

Terrasite Transmitters are super useful. If you aren’t taking advantage of them, you’ve been missing out on easy access to quick jumps in game progression.

We’ve recently taken steps towards making them more accessible, and now we’re updating how the store itself works. From this week’s patch, the items in the store will be put on a weekly rotating schedule. Basic goods like sleeping bags, weapon scopes, and ammo will always be available, but an extra assortment of mid-high tier weapons and armor will switch out each week.

Note: Limited Ware will still change daily; Each day’s items will be picked randomly from a total set of 6 Legendary-tier items that will also be switched out every week during maintenance.

Other changes:
- Up to 100 of each pill may now be purchased (used to be 20)
- Up to 10 Microparts may now be purchased each week (was 2)

Pick up your Vehicle Workshop 🚗

You can now easily pick up your vehicle workshop by holding F while looking at it. Moving your workshop to a different location is now a piece of cake.

Game Version Revision 🚀

For a lot of users, the game version looked like a bunch of random numbers that went up a little every week. We’ve added the official version numbers to the front so it’s more meaningful to non-technical survivors. If you’re curious, the 6 numbers on the end are called a “build number.” Every time one of our coders changes anything in the game and saves it, the number will go up by 1 (usually).

What’s in the works?

Thanks for reading this far! As a reward, here are some teaser images for what’s in the works for our upcoming May(jor) update.
Minor Changes & Optimizations 🚀
🔧 Changed names of corpses so they match.

🔧 Fixed a missing text string in the tutorial.

🔧 Fixed a bug in single-player where one’s vehicle would sometimes disappear.

🕑 Optimized CPU load on local computer in Single Player.

More Terrasite Transmitters 📡

In order to encourage the use of Terrasite Transmitters, we will replace the existing solar street lights with terrasite transmitters. You won’t have to fight with Hyena soldiers every time you want to buy something now.

Terrasite Transmitter Store🛍️

Mouse Wheel Weapon Change 🔫

Players should now be able to switch to an empty hand when changing weapons while using the mouse wheel.

Increased Drop-rate for Bolts 🔩

Due to the addition of new roof building parts that will require more bolts, we will be increasing the drop rate of bolts by 10-15% for the following containers:

🔹 Fine Scrap Bin
🔹 Fine Toolbox
🔹 Fine Trash Compactor
🔹 Rusty Boat
🔹 Radiator
🔹 Trash Bags
🔹 Metal Separator
🔹 Junction Box
🔹 Transport Box
🔹 Trash Compactor

Increased Stone Collection Rate ⛰️

We’ll be adding a new, angled roof to the game soon. In order to accommodate the addition of new roof building parts, we will be increasing the drop rate of stone by 30% for a number of items that includes stone and metal nodes, building debris, and terrapods.

No More Screw Removal Costs for Level 1 Building Parts 🔩
We have removed the cost of bolts to repair all level 1 base parts.

Other Changes

🔹 We’ve polished the animation for the Buggy Android when it spots a player.

🔹 We’ve fixed some issues with a couple of doors around the map.

🔹 When running a custom server, new log entries will now be added for connection failures, connection successes, anonymous logins, GSLT logins, save file loading, and dedicated server readiness.

🔹 Fixed an issue during the final countdown where facility controllers were consumed but facility skills were not activated.
🔹 Fixed an issue where the facility skills were not affecting mobs.
🔹 Fixed issue with Grima getting stuck in a doorway.
Sound 🔊
🔹 Fixed an issue where ambient sound volume changed in single-player mode depending on the player’s height on the map.
