2025 Updated Roadmap

[p]Mercenaries,[/p][p][/p][p]We are excited to share our plans for the latter part of 2025 with an updated roadmap.[/p][p][/p][p]Community Update 6 will be released towards the end of July (this month)! This free update will add Tier 5 armours and weapons crafted using Vairmeil, a new red fabric. We’re also improving how information is displayed during your runs. A new notification log will now group related messages together, making alerts easier to follow and reducing on-screen clutter. On the roleplay side, we’re adding more variety to character progression and storytelling:[/p]
  • [p]20 new traits[/p]
  • [p]40 new confessions[/p]
  • [p]Some of these are unique confessions, written specifically for unique characters you may recruit[/p]
[p]Finally, we’ve made a number of game optimizations to improve overall performance. [/p][p][/p][p]Our next DLC is coming in September: it’s time to claim your own fief.[/p][p]You’ll build and manage your territory from the ground up, construct districts, produce resources and goods and expand your walls as the population increases. You’ll also take on new responsibilities as ruler, making decisions that affect the lives of your subjects and the identity of your fief. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We’ve reworked the Wartales DLC catalogue to better reflect the type of content each release offers. Going forward, DLC will fall into two categories:[/p]
  • [p]Expansions include large-scale additions such as new regions, storylines, and factions. These are priced at 19.99€ and offer narrative-rich experiences that expand the core world and lore.[/p]
  • [p]Contracts focus on new gameplay systems like managing a tavern, triumphing in the fighting pits, or hunting the Beast. These are priced at 12.99€ and introduce modular content that enhances replayability.[/p]
[p]This naming change helps set clear expectations and gives players a better sense of where to start based on what they’re looking for.[/p][p][/p][p]To make onboarding easier for new players, we’re also introducing a Starter Edition, which includes one Expansion (The Skelmar Invasion, a region that aligns with the base game’s tone and setting) and one Contract (The Tavern Opens, an example of how standalone systems can enrich the game).[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]For more experienced players, the Mercenaries Edition offers you the complete Wartales experience. Owning it gives you all the extra content you need to complete your collection.[/p][p]
