Galactic Glitch v1.88 - Run Challenges & Roguelite Improvements



Hey everyone!

We have a new update for you today, including new Run Challenges, a buff to Boosted/Roguelite mode, balance changes based on community feedback, and lots of smaller improvements!

Many of these changes were really only possible because of feedback from our awesome community! We especially want to thank p0k1Rr, 火影忍者第一痛苦长门 and sean on the Steam forums, as well as nphhpn, teod0036, MIC132, Chssam and Econael on the Discord server. You guys are truly our MVPs and we can't thank you enough!

Now let's get into the changes:

  • New Run Challenges with Golden UP rewards
  • Hub map rework with new animations and SFX
  • Boosted/Roguelite mode - Shop gates always open and more balanced economy
  • Squatter Station added to Asteroid level
  • Reduced movement floatiness at high speeds
  • In-run display of current Run Challenge info
  • Reward and completion marks on Run Challenge popup
  • Visual identification of game mode in save slots
  • Prototype unlocks more consistent in mid-game
  • Improved level generation and room structures
  • Updated minimap sprites for some objects

  • Buffed player minion HP
  • Buffed Prismatic Beam main and special attacks
  • Buffed Lightning Railgun main and special attacks
  • Buffed Fourth Strike's fourth attack
  • Tweaked Flash Spear, fixed triple projectile on 3rd upgrade
  • Added Power rewards to True Glitch challenge
  • Crate Collector now affects Cybervoid rewards
  • Dark Maelstrom upgraded to Legendary rarity

  • Fixed infinite selling from corrupted shop
  • Fixed corrupted Power not removable after save load
  • Fixed corruptions repeating during one run
  • Fixed very long dodge bug with Void Ring
  • Fixed player Chain Lightning targeting allies
  • Fixed beam weapons not getting firerate bonuses
  • Fixed Arakh Cannon blueprint not assigned

Galactic Glitch v1.84 - Polish, Update & New Wiki



Hey everyone!

We've been super busy squashing bugs and polishing things up since the Core Access Update. This patch focuses on making the game feel even better, especially on Steam Deck! Plus some nice quality-of-life improvements and balance tweaks. Let's get into it!

[h2]Steam Deck[/h2]
  • Boost in Steam Deck performance
  • New optimized themes, materials and shaders
  • Fixed zoom issues near pickups
  • Fixed controller hints when using PS5 and Xbox

[h2]Balancing & Improvements[/h2]
  • Improved rewards and added new effects in Cybervoid
  • Better boss selection in levels (no more repeat bosses on BO4+)
  • Fixed glitched bosses not appearing on BO5
  • Improved all boss death sequence timing
  • Permanent corruptions in Run Challenges no longer randomize values
  • Updated some Run Challenges, especially "The Slug" and "Brutal Shot"
  • Buffed Chain Lightning and fixed LMG sound issues
  • Rewarding achievements for Roguelike/Challenge players who already completed them
  • Orbiting Stun now orbits slower for better control
  • New VFX on shop reroll
  • Nicer icons for some new powers
  • Animations added to some Helpers
  • New electrical barrel visual and VFX improvements
  • Reworked boomerang bullet collisions on the way back

  • Fixed grav gun lock bug
  • Fixed BO5 using wrong enemy spawns in Cybervoid
  • Fixed BoostBomb and DashSlash not being upgradeable
  • Fixed some minions not attacking bosses
  • Fixed some minions not spawning during Serenity bossfight
  • Fixed Challenge/Roguelike mode logic and achievements for Run Challenges
  • Fixed Serenity checkmark always appearing on weapon popups
  • Fixed idle aiming for minion powers
  • Fixed orbs not always flying out to correct distance
  • Fixed player holding objects during cutscenes
  • Fixed Deployable Shield making valuable stones invincible
  • Fixed wrong boss icon showing on BO-3 Run Challenges
  • Fixed objects that couldn't be released
  • Fixed PowerUI issues when having lots of powers

[h2]We Have a Wiki![/h2]

Big news - we now have an official Galactic Glitch Wiki! We're building out a proper knowledge base for all you pilots who want to dive deep into builds, strategies, and game mechanics.

We could really use your help! The wiki is community-driven, and there's a lot of content to fill in. We especially need help with the Enemies section - we don't have in-game images for most of them yet, and documenting all their behaviors and attack patterns would be incredibly valuable for new players.

If you're the kind of person who loves cataloging game info, or you just want to share that killer build you discovered, come check it out and contribute!

Galactic Glitch v1.81 - Balance and Fixes

Hey everyone!

Just a small patch today with some balance tweaks and bug fixes based on your feedback.

[h3]Balance[/h3]
  • Tweaked Blueprints and Prototypes spawn rates
  • Tweaked Corruptions
  • New Ionic Scorcher boss got a health boost
  • Faster weapon switching in Armory
  • Overview and Treasure Scanner golden UP reveals even more rooms

[h3]Fixes[/h3]
  • Minimap now shows the difference between visited and just-revealed sectors
  • Gamepad players now get proper button hints for the minimap
  • Overview golden UP reveals even more rooms
  • Fixed Chain Lightning weapon firing issues
  • Fixed restart run bug after entering a Run Challenge
  • Fixed dying during challenges not respawning you in the hub
  • Fixed Chinese text breaking when switching languages mid-game
  • Fixed gate arrows showing while the map is open
  • Glitched boss now properly awards the achievement in normal mode too

Galactic Glitch v1.8 - The Core Access Update



Hey everyone!

First off - thank you so much for the incredible support! We've now crossed over 500 reviews, and seeing so many of you enjoying Galactic Glitch means the world to us. Your feedback has shaped every update we've made, and this one is no exception.

We've been working hard since the Corrupted Reality update, taking in tons of community feedback and making something we're really proud of. This is, by far, our biggest update since 1.0 - and it's packed with new content that we can't wait for you to experience. We're adding the final Boss Orb level with Serenity taking center stage, a completely new game mode, nine new powers, new enemies, and so much more. Let's dive in!

[h2]The Final Boss Orb Level - BO5[/h2]

The journey continues! Boss Orb 5 is finally here, bringing the ultimate challenge for veteran pilots. You'll face powerful new bosses - including a completely new final boss that we don't want to spoil.

We've also polished some of the other boss fights based on your feedback. The Fractured Frontier level especially has a much more interesting boss fight now - thanks to everyone who gave us feedback on that!

[h2]Golden Upgrade Protocols[/h2]

A new type of UP for experienced pilots! Golden UPs are rare, powerful upgrades that only appear once you've proven yourself. They're available in BO1 and higher, must be unlocked through gameplay, and when they show up - they're sure to give your runs a serious boost!



[h2]Run Challenges - A Whole New Way to Play[/h2]

This is the feature we're most excited about! Run Challenges add an entirely new layer of replayability for players who've mastered the base game and want something fresh.

  • Build a new room in the Hub to unlock Run Challenges
  • Take on specialized challenges with unique modifiers and conditions
  • Try challenges like TrueGlitch, Backstab Dancer, and Corrupted Reality
  • Each challenge has a difficulty rating so you know what you're getting into
  • Unlock brand new Golden UPs by completing challenge runs

We've seen so many of you asking for more endgame content - this is our answer!

[h2]Prototype Upgrades[/h2]

Prototypes can finally be upgraded! Any ship that has beaten BO3 or higher will be able to upgrade and unlock more Power slots for more destructive power and crazier combinations. We can't wait to see what you guys come up with!

[h2]New Powers[/h2]

Nine new powers join the roster:
  • Orbiting Stun - Orbiting satellite stuns enemies on contact
  • Dark Maelstrom - Thrown objects leave a damaging vortex
  • Boost Bomb - Charge while boosting, release to explode
  • Brutal Breakdown - Ripping parts off enemies triggers explosion
  • Dash Slash - Slice through enemies while dodging
  • Minion Multiplication - Reviving wrecks spawns bonus minions
  • Shield Guardian - Periodically shields nearby allies
  • Railgun Minion - Summons a minion that fires railgun shots
  • Bullet Ballet - Spray bullets all around while boosting

It's becoming quite the collection...



Plus, you can now sell powers you don't want through a new Hub upgrade! No more being stuck with powers that don't fit your build.

[h2]Polish & Improvements[/h2]

We've added tons of polish across the game:
  • New power effects and UP pickup visuals
  • Fresh music tracks for bosses and the Hub
  • Better camera zoom during boss fights
  • Faster gamepad map scrolling
  • Auto-pickups no longer spam popups

We've also done a balance pass on the game - reducing the crazy amount of Glitch Bombs for example - and we think it plays much better now!

And of course, we've fixed lots of bugs thanks to the community (shout out to skipydog!). Your bug reports really help us make the game better with every update.

Galactic Glitch - New Price and Coming Update



Hey everyone!

We've got some news to share - we're lowering the price of Galactic Glitch to $12.99 USD (or your local equivalent) starting today!

We've been thrilled with the response to the game so far, and we want to make it more accessible so more players can join our awesome community. If you've got friends who've been interested but waiting for a good time to jump in, now's their chance!

Just to be clear, this isn't happening because we've stopped development. We're still hard at work on the next big update, which is coming along nicely. It will include the final Boss Orb level, more weapons and powers, as well as more juicy content that we're already excited to share with you soon!

So if you know anyone that enjoys a good Roguelike or you think would enjoy the game, do please let them know about it! The more people playing and enjoying Galactic Glitch, the better we can make the game for everyone!
