Deepest Chamber - One Week in Early Access and Upcoming Changes

Hey there dwellers!

It’s already been an entire week since we launched Deepest Chamber into Early Access and we’d like to thank everyone who gave us and the game a chance so early in its lifespan.

We’ve been privileged to have a lot of eyes on the game during these seven days, whether they be from players purchasing the game and playing it for themselves, or through the many livestream and playthrough videos that have popped up on both Twitch and Youtube. All of this exposure has led to a lot of feedback for us, especially when it comes to the core gameplay loop of Deepest Chamber and the many components that are built around it.
With this in mind, we’d like to take this opportunity to let each and every one of you know that we hear and understand your concerns.
Our goal for the immediate future is to take another look at some of the design elements that have raised concerns among the community and have another go at building a better, more fun experience for everyone.

But that’s not the only part of the game we’ll be looking at. We are committed to improving tutorialization, card balance & synergy, as well as the overall user experience of the game.

All of this will be packaged up in a series of small and mid-sized patches we will be deploying over the next couple of months.
The first patch in this series is being deployed to Steam as we speak, so here’s some of the small changes coming to Deepest Chamber today:
• Heal Card has been changed. It can now be used for the first 6 rounds of a Chamber, instead of the first 2 draws

 • Mudlarks are now less incentivised to steal your Heal Card
 • Trinket rewards now give you the possibility to choose from two Trinkets instead of one
 • Added a Reroll feature to Chamber and Floor Reward panels. Rerolls have an X gold cost

 • Skipping Rewards now gives a slight amount of gold instead of nothing
 • The Brick Trinket now puts Quest Cards into the Singular Pile
 • Added a disable option to the Unlock Panel. This is available by pressing the "Modifiers" button next to the Difficulty selection
 • Dagger’s boss information dialogue does not cost gold anymore
 • Added a Skull icon to the top right indicator section to showcase which boss is present on the current run

 • Quit/Back to Main Menu button text changed to better inform the player about the game saving
 • Feather Card has been changed. It does not replace a Gold Feather buff on a Card anymore
 • Reduced the price of Dagger’s scavenge item option
 • Margaret always sells 1 Health Potion
 • Crowded Chamber Trinket rewards can now add rarer Trinkets
 • Added patch notes textbox to the Main Menu
 • Fixed double buff stack on enemies when an enemy was teleported into a Deposit Chamber
 • Remove the possibility of duplicate Trinkets on floor rewards
 • Fixed a floating text issue when menus are open
 • Fixed an issue with Crowded Chambers sometimes only rewarding Trinkets instead of both Trinkets and Cards
 • Fixed a rare issue that caused a loaded save file to occasionally spawn a different enemy
 • Silence Card has been changed. It now cannot force a cooldown on an inactive Intent

As always, if you get the chance to play the new build and have opinions on the changes that we’re implementing, do tell us about it. We’re very receptive to change and will be reading all of your comments on the Steam Forums, on our Discord Community, on Twitter or Reddit.

Your feedback is the lifeblood of these changes and we hope that together alongside the community we can make Deepest Chamber a great and enjoyable experience!

Thanks for taking the time to check in on us and Deepest Chamber! See you at the next update!

Stay safe!
