New Map System & Steam Tabletop Fest
Hi there Dwellers!
Last time we spoke about events, this week we’re talking about our new world representation. We’ve listened closely to all the feedback you’ve provided, and we’re excited to share what we have in store for you.
Let’s take a look at some of the mechanics that will be possible with the new map!

- Exploration: One of the main areas we've received feedback in was map exploration. The new design allows us to create node maps that are not straightforward to explore. Imagine a short corridor with an event chamber at the end of it that is blocked by an enemy chamber, or a loot chamber that is visible from your current location but the actual path to it is unknown to you at the moment. Each floor will have a final chamber where you will be able to descend to the next floor below. You will have to find this chamber while fighting through the floor. You might happen to stumble upon a locked chamber, and you will have to find a key first. When and where to use these keys will add another layer of decision making.
- Challenge and Reward: Those who want to explore the entirety of a floor can now do so. This will most likely be rewarded by not only extra loot and event possibilities, but also extra experience points for your heroes, but we’ll talk more about leveling up your heroes in a future post.
- Tactical timing: Once you find an event chamber you can decide to use that event right away or come back to it later, adding This opens up a whole lot of interesting tactical decisions.
- Secrets: While exploring the map there might be hidden passages or events that you will have to figure out how to reveal! Who knows what you’ll find!
The screenshot of the new map design does not show any “fog of war” obscuration, as this is something that’s still too early in development to show at this point, but please look forward to it.
Additionally, Deepest Chamber will be part of Steam Tabletop Fest! The game is 10% off until October 25th, so make sure to check it out if you have been waiting to pick it up or if you want to support us through our Early Access development process.

As always we're incredibly grateful for all the support you've been showing us on these Early Access updates, and we love hearing from you so make sure you join our Discord or reach out to us on Twitter, if you’ve got any feedback, questions, or suggestions.
Love,
Team Deepest Chamber
