Update Sep.11.2024: Sputter & Flutter!

Trick doors
  • Individually fine-tuned butterfly doors for all cars! Suicide doors for Coyot rear!
  • Exclusively available at auto shops, sometimes used by opponents, too.
  • Do a 1/4 mile in under 8 seconds with these doors installed to earn a Steam Achievement!
  • With these 34 additional parts, total unique part count now exceeds 1100!
Auto shops
  • Improved shop 2 & 3 lighting.
  • Slightly faster walk speed.
  • Part arrangement improvements for all shops.
  • Unique envmaps for all shops.
  • Fixed excessive front door reach.
  • Fixed front door being clickable in photo mode.
First person mode
  • Reduced deceleration jitter.
  • Improved player hull physics - less keen to climb stuff (like pushed cars).
  • More weighty movement.
  • Standing on toes is now a toggle that requires both pressing and releasing shift while standing still.
This keeps the obscure movement feature from briefly flicking the view up upon pressing shift to run slightly ahead of the movement keys.
Misc
  • Better envmaps for garages and car lot.
  • Catalog now requires Painter->Decal mode to be selected to auto-open to decals, not just active Painter.
  • Increased deformation for lightweight traffic car variants - at the low mass, the forces involved are greatly reduced, so they were barely deforming.
  • Reduced engine power of lightweight traffic cars.

More to come! Stay tuned! :)

Update Aug.30.2024

  • Increased loss/caught wear penalties applied by Junkman mode, but added a 40% chance of any given part being unaffected. This makes for more interesting of a dice roll.
  • No Race Setup show delay if both racers are honking at each other.
  • Eliminated loading screen show/hide stutter - leaving loading screens enabled no longer slows section changes.

Update Aug.28.2024

  • Wheel repair (tyre replacement) now has a fixed minimum price, with additional cost depending on rim damage from impacts - repair at 15% condition or below will end up cheaper than before the update, while redundantly replacing good condition tyres will eat your cash very quickly.
Besides added immersion, a goal of this change is to reward taking risks continuing to race with worn tyres, as means to minimize maintenance costs.
  • Similar concept applies to brake and spring repairs.
  • Different formatting for reverse gear ratio readout inside CarInfo, making transmission data a little easier to read.
  • Memory management improvements for shops & various parts.

Update Aug.27.2024: Pages of Power!

CarInfo
  • RPM limit indicator now indicates the full operational range of the engine: Idle to limit!
  • Adjusted starting points of HP & torque graphs.
  • Above 300HP, the graph now always scales in steps of 300. This means a 900HP scale is available for high-end V10 engines.
  • No more trash wheel radius values shown for missing wheels.
  • Added color-coded highlighting of specs that have changed since last viewing.
This can be disabled in the options.
  • Patch for inaccurate ground clearance values. The detection is still not perfect, and the patch only applies to vanilla cars. We hope to deliver a proper fix in a later update.
Misc
  • Fixed subpar performance of the "12%" V8 scoop.
  • Renamed the V8 scoop compression percentages to match simulated values.
  • Increased aero drag reduction from front bumpers, reduced the effect from rear bumpers.
  • Better Catalog previews for most parts - you can actually see what you're buying now!
  • Updated credits.
  • Fixed a rare game crash upon losing a race during Junkman career.

More to come! Stay tuned! :)

Update Aug.21.2024: FreeREV!

CarInfo
  • Last opened page is now remembered for the same car.
  • Fixed engine page background scaling for aspect ratios narrower than 4:3.
  • Engine page builds faster.
  • More accurate horizontal axis for the power graph.
  • Added graphical indicators for RPM limit & destruction RPM.
Misc
  • Renamed "Damage Level" setting to "Damage & Wear", to clearly communicate that wear rate is affected too.
  • Painter buttons now light up to indicate the active mode.
  • Added a Steam Achievement for winning 10 races with a 12K RPM RevChip using an engine not built for it and manual transmission.

More to come! Stay tuned! :)
