VR HOT 0.11 now available in the alpha channel!
[p]Hi friends,
in our last announcement, we explained our transition to URP. We’ve made faster progress than expected and can already give you access to an Alpha version.[/p][p]For you, the process is essentially the same as our usual Beta procedure, which will follow this Alpha phase before the regular update release in a couple of weeks.
If you're interested in participating as an alpha user, simply head over to your Steam library, click the cog wheel, select "Properties" > "Betas" and choose "public-alpha" from the drop-down menu.[/p][p]If you prefer to wait for the beta version or the regular update, there's no need to do anything but sit tight, as it will be coming soon.
Please keep in mind that this is an experimental Alpha version. We don’t expect major stability issues, but there may be visual glitches that we’d appreciate you reporting.
So far, we’ve observed 20–40% better performance. In most cases, lower-end PCs are seeing the biggest improvements. Many systems that were previously unable to start VR HOT should now be able to run it. VR HOT also requires less VRAM - in some cases, 6 GB might be sufficient. Please let us know if you can confirm this.
If you’re interested in testing an early version and are willing to share your experiences and constructive feedback, welcome to the Alpha program!
For this phase, please focus on two areas: performance and graphic fidelity.
Performance: All users - especially those with lower-tier GPUs (10XX and 20XX series) - should see significant improvements. On our test systems, we’re seeing 20–40% better performance. Let us know how it runs on your setup.[/p][p]Graphic Fidelity: As mentioned in our previous announcement, the URP quality is already on par or better overall. However, you may notice some areas that are still a bit rough around the edges. Please tell us which elements you think need further refinement.
Thanks for your support!
Take care
