The Durka: You will (not) die News

DevBlog #4 - Content
Hello, did you expect to see us again? Yes, this is us, Crucial Experiment, alive and with a new devblog.

What can we tell you about the development of the game at the moment? We are already finishing the 3rd scene, which together with itself will bring the first full-fledged alpha version of the game with the first main piece of the plot!

We would like to say right away that the release of the pre-demo version is scheduled for April 24-25, 2024. The full list of changes will appear with the update.

Design

The first thing I would like to show is the new game footage that we published in our VK, Telegram and Discord

This is not quite the final version yet, but it is closer to the final one, and we, of course, continue to improve the graphics, as well as the plot itself.

Scenario

The game script has been slightly rewritten in a couple of months since the last devblog to simplify it in the future. For example, the dialogues at the very beginning of the train were changed, adding some information there. It was also decided to introduce some interactive parts, which will also be added over time, and possibly change a little.

The development time of one scene has been increased, but we are trying to tell the story in more detail in it. Starting from the 4th scene in the game, the plot itself will begin, where more topics will be revealed.

Soundtrack

The musical score has been slightly changed and new tracks have been added. The soundtrack has been updated and new sounds have been added.

Modification Tool (under development)

Is a completely new program that supports the ability to create simple scenarios using visual editing through the event tree. You can not only create your own plots, but also skins and modes for mini-games. The program is currently under active development and a completely new design is already being prepared.

End

Thank you to everyone who continues to wait and believe in us! We are very happy to continue working on improving the game. Don't forget that we will continue to work no matter what. If you want to help us with the development, you can send a donation to Boosty or to DonationAlerts or write to us on social medianetworks in offering help.

We would also appreciate it if you add the game to your wish list and recommend it to your friends (or subscribe to the Crucial Experiment page on Steam).

That's all for now, new concepts and some other news can be found in our VK, Telegram или Discord.
New stream - new hijinks (Russian)
Welcome everyone! We're back on the air to try and work on the second scene of the game!

The new stream is scheduled for the 26th. We'll tell you the time a little later on VK and Discord. Where will it be available to watch? On YouTube, Twitch and Steam!

The stream will be divided into 2 parts:
 • Part 1 - Dialogue Writing, etc.
 • Part 2 - New design and a lot of hilarity.

We'll be waiting for everyone on the stream!
The Durka: You will (not) die - Scene 2 Development
Greetings everyone, Crucial Experiment is back, specifically two stoners

On this gorgeous day, the two geniuses on the team decided to host a development stream for The Durka: You're (not) going to die. Come on in and see what the stoners are up to again. https://youtu.be/qPk28u_kRhM
DevBlog #3 - Are we alive?
Greetings all, Crucial Experiment returns from its cosy greenhouse to the world!

That day has come, the whole team is back together, which means it's time to get down to making the game, and we even have a story to tell you.

First we'd like to tell you a bit about the return of the game itself on Steam. Valve recently hid the game's page on June 25 due to the long absence of the main bundle, we talked to support and got the game back on Steam, but with the bundle itself. The game is now available for purchase, but we do not ask you to buy it now for full price, better wait for discounts, where we will make them from 70-90% (just in case there is a special section on the page itself with a warning), and yes who already has the game in the library should not buy it again.

Begin

A lot had to be reworked or rewritten, but we assure you it's worth it!
We decided to start creating the first demo of the game, removing everything unnecessary and adding what was needed.

This is roughly the schedule we have at the moment, the plan is to try to finish this part before the end of the summer, but it looks like we won't be able to do it all that quickly.

Scenario

Well, the game's scenario has changed a bit again, which was understandable, the game hasn't been touched or changed all year, but now, after a long hibernation, the story has even started to take on some of the outlines of a demo. Now every user who has the game can see what we're doing with the game itself, we try to update the game with every change in the story, giving players a chance to feel and tweak some things.

The scenario may be reworked a bunch of times, but most importantly, it will never change - the same train Mickey rode for a year across the fields, the same Veronica and Lera waiting for him at the station, or his father.

Design

We can talk about the game's design, new backgrounds, character sprites and more before the demo is even released.

A few examples of the new character designs we're trying to stick to (they're slightly different in the game due to size)

Also some concept backgrounds and locations that are under development

Alexander leaves his son and goes away

Draft version of the new menu

Draft version of the new station

As you can see, work on the design continues, which means the game is alive too!

Sound

The most stable item that has continued to develop all year, thanks to our compatriot for continuing to work with us! Since the post there have been many new tracks and new ideas for future tracks that are currently in development, here are some of them: title theme and main menu theme (for the demo)

The End

A huge thank you to everyone who continues to wait, follow and believe in us! We're very excited to be back in development and releasing new updates for you. We also recently brought back Durka Simulator to Steam, and it's now available for download too! They say there are even some updates coming out, maybe they'll finally release a second chapter?

We'd also appreciate it if you add the game to your wishlist and recommend it to your friends (or subscribe to the Crucial Experiment page on Steam).

That's all for now, you can find new concepts and some other news on our VK or Discord. Have a great summer holiday and the biggest discounts!
DevBlog #2 - Pineapple Truth
Hello everyone again, Crucial Experiment is in touch!

This time we have bad news for the players who are waiting for the game. No matter how painful it was for us, but due to the lack of team and strength, we cannot continue working on the game, so it was decided to temporarily freeze the project until better times. It seems that this break will be long.

But Crucial Experiments is not going to leave its business and, while gaining experience, will delight you with other indie games!
