Discover the Alpine Biome - meet the Valley!

Hi Survivors,

We hope you’ve been enjoying the latest updates – the team put a lot of heart into them! But today’s post is about something else. Today, I’d like to continue our journey through the Alpine Biome with you. You’ve already learned a bit about the Frozen Bridge, and in this entry, you’ll find out more about the Valley.
Valley – what can you expect?
Just like in Frozen Bridge, the people of Valley were used to hard, physical labor. The locals worked primarily in fishing, using the same bay where ships would arrive to collect lumber. It wasn’t easy work – the constant cold and harsh living conditions didn’t make life simple for the Valley’s inhabitants.

And yet, those working on the boats could consider themselves the “lucky ones.” The alternative was working in the local quarries, known for their beautiful stone that was often used as building material.

As you explore the Valley, you’ll definitely come across the remnants of both fishing villages and stonemason camps. Today, of course, they’re abandoned – but not entirely empty. Every Survivor will want to check them out to see if anything useful was left behind for the journey ahead.

There’s another important element you’ll find in the Valley: the remains of forts, apparently built after the zombie apocalypse. The local people sought shelter high in the mountains, building fortifications meant to protect them from the ever-hungry zombies.

Whether they managed to hold out, or if they eventually left and headed – like you – toward the last bastion of humanity, we don’t know. The place is deserted and shows no signs of recent human activity, but you're sure to find something there that can aid you on your way.
The Terrain
Here’s where the real mountains begin. While Frozen Bridge was hilly, the Valley is made up of truly high peaks. I’m preparing a serious challenge for you when it comes to navigating this area – get ready to think creatively, as not every place will be reachable on foot. Some will require the use of a glider. All I’ll say is – it’s worth exploring the Valley thoroughly. I’m sure the rewards waiting for you won’t disappoint.

Sometimes, one wrong jump might mean you’ll need to start your entire climb over again. The mountains are unforgiving, though luckily, there’s no fall damage in Survival Machine, so the only consequence will be the need to climb again. So be careful when jumping across ravines!

But the Valley isn’t just tall mountains – it’s also home to kilometers of underground tunnels found across almost the entire map. Not all the caves were known to the local population; some remain undiscovered to this day, just waiting for someone to find them. Be warned though – caves can turn into real labyrinths, and getting out might be tricky. Keep that in mind when you head into the underground :)
Wrap up
I hope you’ll enjoy everything Valley has to offer! If you have any feedback or ideas, feel free to drop a comment here or share them on our Discord – we’re always around to answer your questions :)

In the meantime, I’m heading back to work – there are still a few puzzles left to design. Thanks for reading, and see you in the next post!

cheers!
