Tunguska: The Visitation - Final Cut News

Happy Labor Day! It's Time to Eat BBQ!

The Continental Rangers are cooking up some BBQ for Labor Day! If you just started a new game, the BBQ will begin on the 4th day at midnight and you'll get a notification. If you are in the middle of the playthrough, you will get the notification in the next midnight. The BBQ party will last 10 in-game days.

A new fridge is added in the Continental Rangers camp, and you can put raw meat in it (talk to Larry about it) during the BBQ party, and they will automatically turn into cooked BBQ dishes in the big smoker outside.

Other changes included in this update:

- Visitations will now make all the ghouls in the current map very powerful. After the Visitation is over, the ghouls will act more aggressively, melee very fast, has double health, and deal double damage. But if you don't kill them, the next Visitation will make them even more powerful, doubling their health again.

- Added a radio in the player house in Ravenwood. It'll show up when you purchase either the couch or the desk. The radio will play some nice country music.

- Improved various gamepad navigation controls in the main menu

- Improved UI visibility for small screens such as Steam Deck

- The game will try to detect Steam Deck when you run the game the first time, and set the correct control method, UI size, and resolution

- Fixed a quest bug where if you interrupt the dialogue with Roman right after giving him the letter, you can't continue the quest any more.

- Completing Dead Zone mode will grant you Nightmare achievement as well

- Fixed a geometry stuck issue in the editor's office

Update 1.71-4 Patch Notes

- Added several tasks assigned by Editor McCarthy to guide a new player through the game

- Improved the clarity of UI sprites

- You can now ask Razor to send a raid group to help you attack the Army Cordon. Just head to Army Cordon and trigger the journal entry, and then you can ask Razor about it.

- Added a timer to check if player is stuck in "switching weapon" state for too long, and just clear the state for player. This might help with the rare occasions where player is stuck in switching weapon state indefinitely.

Update 1.71-3 Patch Notes

- Fixed a bug with Chinese and Ukrainian language, where the "Sticks & Stones" button for starting new game is pointing to the wrong function, and starts a hardcore mode instead of Sticks & Stones mode

- Fixed a bug with Chinese language, where the "Sticks & Stones" stamp on player status page doesn't display

- Semi-auto guns (such as handguns, sniper rifles) will now be truly semi-auto, so you will have to click LMB for each shot. Pump action shotguns are not affected by this, and you can still hold LMB to keep shooting.

Shadow Master DLC Is Now Released! Bug Fix and New Guns Too!

Dear Ghoul Hunters,

Thank you so much for your patience and support throughout the last few months, from when I first had the idea of a stealth-centric game mode, to turning it to an extension of the original storyline. It was one month late to the party, due to my sickness, scope expansion, and translations, but the work is completed now and ready for you to enjoy! :)

In this update I also included a few fixes:

- A nasty, game-breaking bug with the inventory. If you pick up a larger item and try to put it in the backpack with no room for it, the item will get "stuck in your hand" and you can't exit the inventory.

- Increased the recoil buff for when you crouch, and also added an accuracy buff for crouching. You will see the crosshair shrinking just like most FPS games.

Special thanks to TayTay for bringing up the issue and suggestion above. I have no idea how long that inventory bug has been around, but I certainly haven't touched that code for eternity. I'm glad it's now been fixed! He also wrote a very detailed review that provided a lot of insight with the problems in the game, and I will slowly work towards enhancing the game accordingly.

Thank you to TayTay, and to many other folks who have left me detailed reviews, telling me what I did right and what I did wrong. Please feel free to engage me any time in Discord or Steam Community!

- Added two new weapons to the game: SKS-DMR (an entry level sniper), and SKS Carbine (a unique gun unlocked after player reading all of Haruko's autobiography)

- The SKS-DMR can be found in the Army Cordon level.

- Added a little ammo crafting tutorial in the form of a note. You will find the note in the dead body at the Old Mill next to Zernaskaya Village. I also added some ammo crafting ingredients in the village to help player learn ammo crafting as early as possible.

- Dismantling a throwing knife will no longer generate any gun powder, because it doesn't make sense :)

- You can no longer dismantle glowing skulls and gourds into metal and gun powder either :)

- But NPCs will now have a chance to drop gun powder along with casings.

Special thanks to EricRonin, who played Tunguska in a Twitch Stream and pointed out the lack of crafting materials at the beginning of the game. I would have never thought of that!

- The AIROTEK helmet can now be used as costume for trick-or-treating, with NPCs who like the look of it

Thank you again, and please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions :)

Quick bug fix

While I was fixing the problem with drinking Potion of Elation, I noticed a major logical error in the code that verifies if the item can be used at the moment. I fixed it for Potion of Elation but screwed it up for food, backpack upgrade, and repair kit.

1.71-1 will fix this issue.
