Patch Notes V 0.3
Hello! It's been a month without patches- but that's because the ones in the works were huge!
This is a beta patch- so there's a couple in-process things to note, which I'll do so below. Let's start off with a summary graphic of the changes, and then I'll go into upcoming features and so on.
Major Features
- Azla-Kathy joins the crew as the fifth playable character! I hope you come to love her as much as I do!
- Azla, Jim, Ben, Sophie, Stabby Jack, Hero, and Dark Knight (formerly Galaxy Knight) are all on the new visual system.
- Skulldweller and Plimbo are using placeholder art (Hero and Azla respectively) for combat for the time being.
- ~40 new scenarios and ~10 new endings.
- Revamped Tutorial System!
- A stats menu, tutorials menu, and ending tracker are now accessible from the title screen!
- Micah and Umbra join the cast- rounding out our romance options!
- Complete redesign of the difficulty modes. Enemies will get more items, skills, and stats at higher difficulties- and yours will be lower!
- Poison now loses half its potency after each turn instead of just one.
Minor Features
- The game's been tested on Steam Deck! There's been some tweaks to the UI to make it a better playing experience, and the on-screen keyboard now properly appears when selecting a custom name.
- New ending art for a handful of endings! We're chugging away on getting every single one custom art.
- The feedback form pop ups no longer appear after a game.
- Story Mode and God Mode have been removed.
- Dark Knight has updated voice lines!
- Lots and lots and lots and lots of polish tweaks.
In Progress
- Skulldweller should receive updated art within the next week.
- Micah, Umbra, Runt, Bubso, and many minions with missing art should receive their art soon.
- Plimbo will be receiving his own art soon as well.
- Stabby Jack and Dark Knight will receive a couple more animations to better signal their Overkill state.
- There are ~20 events currently being tested for implementation and those should roll out next week.
- Updated art for even more endings!
- More music! We're working on doubling the amount of music in game right now.
What to watch for
The Steam Next Fest demo will be coming up next week, and will be using mostly this patch- so there'll be a lot more frequent patching this week as new assets come in at the last minute and bugs get squashed.
Expect maybe a few more bugs than normal since there are so many features in the patch, and expect some enemy numbers to get tweaked as balance gets ironed out.
If you play the game and have any feedback- let me know! I'll have my eyes on the lookout.
