Dev Diary #11 - How to Play
[p]The universe is a horrifying place. Your only chance is to align yourself with one of the major corporations and hope they protect you. But if you find yourself stranded in the darkness - alone - there isn't much that can save you.[/p][p][/p]
[/p][p][/p]
COMBAT
[p]While exploring the Orpheus, you will encounter monsters called Darkphage. If you enter a room with enemies, the ship will activate "Lockdown Mode" forcing you to defeat all threats before letting you move further. Master the dodge mechanic to evade deadly attacks. It’s not just “strafe and shoot”, combat demands timing, positioning, and aggression.[/p][p][/p][p]
[/p][p][/p]
WEAPONS & AUGMENTS
[p]The main factor that affects the combat gameplay are the weapons; you can carry one melee and two ranged weapons. Weapons are split into 3 categories: Melee, Energy, and Physical. Melee weapons consume stamina while Ranged weapons use their respective ammo pool. Besides the stats and gameplay, each weapon can have a different level and rarity. Finding rarer or higher level weapons will increase the combat effectiveness. The player can increase the weapon level at certain vendors, but the rarity cannot be changed - making rare drops highly valuable.[/p][p]Augments are upgrades for your armor and weapons that enhance or change your fighting style. They range from simple passive buffs like higher max health or speed increase, to gameplay altering ones like double jump or changing your weapon power. There is a great variety of augments in the game and they contribute to the uniqueness of each run. [/p][p][/p][p]

How to Play Moros Protocol
[p]Stranded on a decaying warship, stalked by horrors, and guided by a voice you don't recognize, you must adapt, upgrade and push forward. You may be outnumbered, but you are not outmatched. This is Moros Protocol. In this Dev Diary, we're going to break down the core goals of the game, how to play and what you should expect when you jump into the Steam Next Fest Demo. [/p][p][/p]
GOAL
[p]You start a run and try to progress as far as possible while gathering resources and becoming stronger. If you defeat the boss of your current area, you’ll unlock the next wing of the ship... and uncover more of the story. If you die, you lose all current progress except for BioMats which you can use to unlock permanent upgrades. [/p][p][/p]
ENVIRONMENT
[p]Moros Protocol combines handcrafted level design with procedural generation in order to achieve the feel of human-made environments with the variety of a procedural generated world. Each wing is split into multiple sectors, where after clearing a sector you can choose your next destination giving him the freedom to plan his path to reach the goal. Sectors can have visible modifiers that affect the levels inside them. [/p][p][/p][p][/p]
