Dev Diary #12 - Acantha X vs Freorra Industries

[p]"The light that gleams from the star of Centurion shines brightly off our swords. We look towards our galaxy with ease, knowing it was carved for us. Those arms that line our side blast through enemy weakness. We are the strength, we are the power and we are the universe itself. Utopia is nigh, brothers, and Acantha X will carry us there."[/p][p]- Acantha First Sgt. Luke Martin, before the Battle of Centurion 12X394[/p][p][/p]
Discover Acantha X
[p]One of the oldest entities in the cosmos, historians struggle to track their journey as they jumped from planet to planet. Its weaponry was seeded across wars, wherever there was a fight, Acantha X was there. Eventually, battles became about who could gain its favor. Few companies could stand up to them. Now, in a universe where guns and swords reign supreme, Acantha X stands as the herald of a new order.[/p][p]Their beliefs are simple: to forge a universal utopia. Followers embrace this vision as sacred doctrine, even if the company distances itself from religious scripture. Moros Protocol takes place aboard an Acantha X Capital-class battleship, The Orpheus, on its way to support a ferocious battle against another mega-corporation...[/p][p][/p]
Freorra Industries
[p]The only corporation capable of standing toe-to-toe with Acantha X is Freorra Industries. While both believe in a “brighter future for all,” their visions diverge dramatically. What began as an interstellar pharmaceutical firm is now a universe-spanning conglomerate. There are many more corporations like them, but none hold a true stake in the galaxy.[/p][p]Freorra Industries is your first enemy - you’ll face them in the tutorial of Moros Protocol. But in the full game, they’re no longer the threat. That title belongs to the Darkphage...a monstrous force neither corporation dares confront.[/p][p][/p][p]Thanks for reading, and we look forward to seeing you next week![/p][p]See you in the stars 💫[/p][p] - Pixel Reign 🚀 [/p][p][/p]
Be sure to wishlist👇
[p]https://store.steampowered.com/app/1605250/Moros_Protocol/[/p]

Dev Diary #11 - How to Play

[p]The universe is a horrifying place. Your only chance is to align yourself with one of the major corporations and hope they protect you. But if you find yourself stranded in the darkness - alone - there isn't much that can save you.[/p][p][/p]
How to Play Moros Protocol
[p]Stranded on a decaying warship, stalked by horrors, and guided by a voice you don't recognize, you must adapt, upgrade and push forward. You may be outnumbered, but you are not outmatched. This is Moros Protocol. In this Dev Diary, we're going to break down the core goals of the game, how to play and what you should expect when you jump into the Steam Next Fest Demo. [/p][p][/p]
GOAL
[p]You start a run and try to progress as far as possible while gathering resources and becoming stronger. If you defeat the boss of your current area, you’ll unlock the next wing of the ship... and uncover more of the story. If you die, you lose all current progress except for BioMats which you can use to unlock permanent upgrades. [/p][p][/p]
ENVIRONMENT
[p]Moros Protocol combines handcrafted level design with procedural generation in order to achieve the feel of human-made environments with the variety of a procedural generated world. Each wing is split into multiple sectors, where after clearing a sector you can choose your next destination giving him the freedom to plan his path to reach the goal. Sectors can have visible modifiers that affect the levels inside them. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
COMBAT
[p]While exploring the Orpheus, you will encounter monsters called Darkphage. If you enter a room with enemies, the ship will activate "Lockdown Mode" forcing you to defeat all threats before letting you move further. Master the dodge mechanic to evade deadly attacks. It’s not just “strafe and shoot”, combat demands timing, positioning, and aggression.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
WEAPONS & AUGMENTS
[p]The main factor that affects the combat gameplay are the weapons; you can carry one melee and two ranged weapons. Weapons are split into 3 categories: Melee, Energy, and Physical. Melee weapons consume stamina while Ranged weapons use their respective ammo pool. Besides the stats and gameplay, each weapon can have a different level and rarity. Finding rarer or higher level weapons will increase the combat effectiveness. The player can increase the weapon level at certain vendors, but the rarity cannot be changed - making rare drops highly valuable.[/p][p]Augments are upgrades for your armor and weapons that enhance or change your fighting style. They range from simple passive buffs like higher max health or speed increase, to gameplay altering ones like double jump or changing your weapon power. There is a great variety of augments in the game and they contribute to the uniqueness of each run. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
STEAM NEXT FEST DEMO
[p]After multiple playtests, our new and improved Moros Protocol demo is finally live on Steam. Here you can travel through the Orpheus trying to find out what happened. Guided by the System, you journey through the ship fighting the mysterious monsters known as the Darkphage. Finally, you find yourself against Big Brother, an advanced creature created by the Darkphage. If you manage to defeat it, then you have some more surprises in store. Keep fighting, and get further into the ship in this free demo now available on Steam until 16th June! [/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p]Thanks for reading, and thank you for your support.[/p][p]Try the demo and let us know what you think![/p][p][/p][p]See you in the stars 💫[/p][p]- Pixel Reign 🚀 [/p][p][/p]
Be sure to wishlist👇
[p]https://store.steampowered.com/app/1605250/Moros_Protocol/

Moros Protocol - Demo Patch

[p]Space is so vast, so devoid of life. Cold, watching, endless. When you finally do come across someone, friend or foe, it almost doesn’t matter. For a brief moment, you’re not alone. And that... that can be comforting. Even if that comfort doesn’t last.[/p][p][/p]
Demo Hotfix
[p]Hey Orpheans![/p][p]Thanks for all the shooting, stabbing and slashing your way through the world of Moros Protocol and sharing your feedback! We've just rolled out a small patch addressing some key issues:[/p]
  • [p]Players who fall when battling Jocaste are now ported to the platform to avoid softlocks[/p]

Moros Protocol - Steam Next Fest Starts Now 💥

"When stars awaken, so too does our hubris. For in rising, we believe we outshine the light."
— Juk' Haram, Essence Prime, 16:17

Today you will understand the light of order.
Today is your salvation, insect.

Steam Next Fest has begun 💥

The time has arrived, Orpheans. Today, you shall take on the Sin Seeker... Jocaste ⚔️

Steam Next Fest is now live, which means it's time for Moros Protocol to have the biggest demo that we've ever had. Are you ready for brand new weapons, augments and enemies to battle againt. Make your way to our Steam page today and download the demo.
Patch Notes - V0.16.3
Headlines
  • Jocaste the Sin Seeker boss battle is unlocked.
  • Enabled more Bioboost upgrades.
  • Introducing intrusive augments.
These augments are more powerful than what you'd typically see, but they all come at a cost. And once they've been attached, they take up a permanent slot for the rest of your run. So, use them with care!
New Weapons
  • Nuclei-55 Disintegrator (Energy)
HWT's Nuclei-55 series adds a little sparkling insult to injury as the ordinance for these weapons is infused with thermodynamic nanotechnology. Due to the splash particles when in contact with the target, caution is advised to maintain a safe distance from the blast.
  • XM LED Strobe (Energy)
Originally taken from 8th-Generation mining lasers and repurposed into a handheld cannon, XM LED Strobe was the tool used by the Mining factions of Gravel-3 System to oppose their captors and overturn slavery. Highly controversial design due to the lack of a failsafe in case of a fall.
  • Type-9 Boomstick (Physical)
A simple and reliable design adopted by the Acantha X Spec-ops. Type-9 is a practical side weapon capable of operating in the most extreme conditions.
