Christmesstime comes to A Little to the Left

’Twas the night before Christmess, when all through the house,
The creatures were stirring, the cat chased the mouse;
The stockings that hung were all knocked askew,
And the mog had loosed soot from the fireplace flue.

The people were nestled all snug in their beds,
While the chaos unfolded around resting heads:
The cat scratched at sheets and tugged at loose threads,
Paws clawed greetings cards and they tore them to shreds.

The tree’s ornamented with delicate care,
But the cat swiped at baubles till branches were bare;
Jumbled and tumbled, all gifts lay a-mess,
Their order, now lost, is anyone’s guess?

Nutcrackers were cracked and the candy canes maimed,
Snowglobes were shattered and pictures unframed,
Wrappings unwrapped, the candles deflamed,
Neatness, oh surely, could not be reclaimed.

But hark! What is this? An angelic assistant,
Reordering items so designs are consistent;
An ethereal hand of body bereft,
Moving things right and nudging them left.

A Christmessy miracle! Five messes, all free,
Delivered to you in the Daily Tidy;
A Little to the Left, a smidge to the right,
Merry Mess to you all, and to all a good-night.
