Steam Achievements Available Now!

[h3]🎯 Steam Achievements[/h3]
Steam Achievements are officially added to Research Story! In v0.7.8, there are 29 achievements for players to earn. Some information about the achievements:
  • Some Achievements are retroactively given if players have met the criteria for it. Others can only be earned if triggered after the update.
  • You don't need to start a new save to earn these achievements.
  • All 29 achievements can be earned regardless of the settings you play on (i.e. longer day length or more base energy does not affect your ability to get the achievements).
  • However, once the game reaches 1.0 (full release), we might add some "challenge" achievements that can only be earned with default settings. These achievements would require a new save file to be completed.
  • As we continue updating the game, more achievements will be added! If you have ideas, we'd be happy to hear them :)

I've also made some changes and fixes based on your recent feedback.

Changes
- Both Flowers and Herbs can now be used with the Dehydrator.
- Seeds can now be used with the Campfire to get Roasted Seeds.
- [Balance] Increased the drop rate of Ice Cubes from Snowmounds.
- Certain key cutscenes will no longer play during rain.

Fixes
- Icy Fluff can now be added to the Spinning Wheel.
- Fixed typo in Darts Minigame, "4 Shots".

Localisation fixes
- Fixed English NPC name text showing in:
  • Vallee's dialogue during the Cherry Blossom Festival.
  • Darts Minigame (4 Shots).
- Fixed Typos in Theo's dialogue options which showed " when unintended.
- Fixed text wrapping in 4 Shot's Information section.
- Fixed some localisation wording mistakes.

Working on Steam Achievements 🎯

[h3]Hello Researchers![/h3]

Last week, I started implementing Steam Achievements to the game. In the next update, 29 achievements will be added!

To test if the achievement system is working as intended, I'll have to set the list of achievements to public - even though players will NOT be able to receive any achievements at this time. (It's not a bug!) Once the system has been tested, the game will be updated and players will be able to start earning Steam Achievements :)

Hotfix v0.7.7

More fixes:
- [Fixed] Heart Events will no longer be triggered on a Festival Day.
- [Controller] Fixed crash when pressing 'A' during a dialogue option after switching to KB+M mode.

Some of the smaller bugs that were reported will be fixed in a future patch (together with the addition of Steam Achievements). Will be posting a bit about that soon! :)

Hotfix v0.7.6

A small patch today, thank you for your reports!

Fixes
- Fixed a bug for the Creature Puzzle #1 slot, where some creatures are unable to complete the puzzle even though it's the solution.
- [CN Localisation] Fixed some letters from the v0.7 update displaying placeholder text.

Balancing
- Adjusted penalty for fainting. Most of the Gold penalties have been halved or reduced.

Hotfix v0.7.5

Controller Updates
- Fixed a bug that caused players to be unable to chop trees, interact with creatures, mailbox, shipping bin, and trough. This bug happens right after the player starts to till the ground but does not complete it, then switch tools.
- Added a way to view Item Names in a crafting recipe while crafting.

Others
The game now detects when a save file is corrupted/missing, and shows an error instead of crashing.

Glad to be able to fix that first controller bug - with the help of your reports as usual! 🙏 I'll be starting on the next content update soon :)
