Patch 149

Hey Critters!

Firstly a quick thank you to everyone who picked up Critter Cove!

It's been an awesome - and exhausting week and it's amazing to finally be sharing the game with you all.

We focused on some hot fixes over the last few days, but today we've got a slightly meatier set of bug fixes and improvements to enjoy on the weekend! Steam should auto update, but you'll know you're on the right version because you'll see '149' in the corner on the menu.

We're continuing to watch the Steam forums and Discord, so please keep the feedback coming, and we'll keep delivering fixes.

We've been busy on mulitple hot fixes that tackled some progression blocking bugs since launch.

[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]

Fixed issue with castaway critters not respawning and despawning correctly with storm.
Fixed issue where speaking to crabs too soon after eating crab snack could cause softlock.
Fixed exception caused by breaking crab houses
Fixed issue where putting seeds in crab planter was causing a crash.
Fixed issue where Copperbottom could get stuck after building the tavern.
Fixed crash caused by player attempting too many actions at the same time.
Fixed issue with closing of windows when shutting down inventory or other UI elements.
Added checks to ensure players cannot spawn or game saved outside of the world boundaries.
Fixed issue with Woolington not correctly finishing her tent quest.
Fixed issue with being able to place decoration items in certain spots of the cave ceiling.
Fixed issue with seacorn plants disappearing after harvest.
Fixed issue with recycler not correctly giving seeds for certain plants.
Fixed issue that was causing some plants to regrow fruit only 1 day after harvesting them.
Fixed for some items in the workshop area to not render making it difficult to complete the Cleaning up the Workshop quest.
Fixed issue with furniture storage containers not working correctly as storage units.
Fixed issue on the Rising Tides quest where players were sometimes unable to break the boards.
Fixed a large number of collision issues, including several that were causing players to become trapped or stuck.
Fixed issue with gnomes despawning early with the Smashing Gnomkins quest.
Fixed issue where Copperbottom would sometimes go to the wrong loom during the completion of the loom quest.
Wonky Chow now takes salt instead of a vegetable.
Added missing SFX to the Solid Cutter.
Adjusted waypoint on some crafting items to hopefully keep Copperbottom out of the walls.
Moved map point for the Antique Radio so that it’s clearer to players where the correct search location should be.

Shrunk gear size on the fishing pole so it doesn’t stick so much into character heads.
Added textures to the underside of the metal platform on Boomerang Bay.
Correct the mask colors on some of the NPC characters.
Added rain icon to forecast for when normal rain occurs.
Fixed issue with small and large pillows not being able to be picked up.
Remove some of the “plastic” shine that was showing up on some furniture items.
The Wizard Hat will now correctly show up in the Clothing Shop.

Fixed tiny text on cart descriptions.
Updated relationship UI to make certain elements a bit clearer.
Lots of dialog, localization, and text error fixes.
Some minor adjustments to the shop UIs

Patch Fix

Fix for Copperbottom getting lost while fixing up the TAVERN causing players to not be able to complete the tavern quest. He will not go outside of the tavern construction area so you can complete this quest.

Many fixes to the spawning of castaways that you can bring back to your island. Fixed the respawn to always spawn a certain number of NPCs after a major storm. This should improve your chances of finding more NPCs available to bring back to Critter Cove.

Fix to castaways that you turn down or do not bring back to Critter Cove after completion of their quest. We will now replace them on the next major lightning storm.

Fix for GNOME quest on 5 little crabs. Anyone who could not complete this due to saving before fully completing this quest can now complete the quest. We are temporarily disabling this castaway quest until we can get it working properly.

Continuing to stomp out bugs and issues as we find them so thank you for your wonderful help tracking these down. The community has been amazing.

Patch Fix

Fix for Luggage Quest on Five Little Crabs. Was giving out quest map but not accepting the quest and then giving out the quest in a loop over and over. You can now just start the quest again and immediately give the quest item if you have already collected it. This quest is repeatable so if you have multiple quest items for this quest you can use them again.

Patch Fix Random Crash Bug

Fixed issue with ESC key not working after Exit To Main Menu
Fixed random crashes there where occurring after Exit To Main Menu and then playing again.
Sorry was exhausted yesterday and this slipped through the cracks.
