Road to Chapter 2 - Part 1: New Character & Weapons
💀 GLAD TO BE BACK!
Hello, Warlocks!

It’s been a long time since the last update and we do realize you are waiting for any bit of news regarding what's coming. Given the nature of some of the changes introduced to Chapter 1 after the game went into Early Access, we wanted to make sure we know fully well what we can commit to and deliver before actually announcing it. We do realize that the roadmap we published is a huge obligation so we spend as much time as we could to polish our vision of the new chapter.

For the past months we have been working on Chapter 2 - creating all the levels, monsters, weapons and a new system of upgrades first, and only moving to the polishing stage in the past couple of weeks. And today marks the moment where we feel confident to share information about Chapter 2 that you will get to play really soon. On top of that we also worked on what we aim to be the final visual overhaul of Chapter 1 that we want to share with you very very soon. Last but not least we have some surprises for the fans of the original Project Warlock later this year to coincide with the 5th anniversary of the game’s release!

Again - thank you for all your support along the way, all of your comments and precious feedback regarding the content we released so far - both for the positives and negatives. We take into account every comment and review to make sure we understand the expectations that you have for Project Warlock going forward. This doesn’t mean we can or will incorporate all of the suggestions. But it does help us make more informed decisions with what we have in store for you in the coming months.

From today on we will be posting weekly updates on Project Warlock II Chapter 2 providing information on various changes incorporated into the game. We wanted to make sure that playing the fiery Urd will be a different experience than slaying demons as Palmer - thanks to numerous differences regarding the upgrade system, weapons and spells, arsenal and of course the setting. To kick it off properly we have prepared the first part of insights about the content that will come to Project Warlock II soon!

So without further ado - let’s meet Urd, the new character introduced in Chapter 2, and learn a bit more about her arsenal.
💀 URD, THE MAGICAL GLASSCANNON
Banished by the master at a young age and left to die in a demonic dimension, Urd seeks revenge and will utilize every single tool at her disposal to get the job done. Her youngish looks - a result of the different flow of time in the land of her imprisonment - hide the powerful and explosive temper of a seasoned magic wielder.

Playing as Urd you will take advantage of new sets of weapons and skills. The playstyle also differs in comparison to Palmer - Urd lacks physical strength of the Warlock disciple from Chapter 1, and favors magical weapons infused with powerful crystals energy and powerful utility spells to obliterate those foolish enough to stand in her way.

Urd’s arsenal is small-caliber guns that go hand in hand with a very dynamic and more agile approach to combat. Also the way those guns can be upgraded varies from the tried and tested dual paths of development preferred by Palmer.
💀 CRYSTAL-POWERED ARSENAL
The weapons to take central stage today are - the shotgun, the machine gun, the scoped pistol and a magical dagger.

Urd’s dagger is suited for dishing damage both as a melee weapon and a projectile, with further enhancements to the magical blade that infuse it with various status effects, allow for homing in on the targets, spawn additional blades to throw simultaneously and other upgrades available on the go.

Scoped pistol is powerful when shot from the hip, and devastating when using scope to land headshots from afar. And upgrading it allows for even more destructive power depending on the pick.

In close quarters, you can use a demon-infused shotgun hungry for successful shots and packing serious firepower to enemies that get too near. The only downside is the initially lengthy reload time, but that can be amended with the right upgrades.

Finally - the crystal-powered SMG is a reliable weapon, that gets more and more effective as you get better at timing your shots or bursts and eventually - enhance it with upgrades. It allows for a steady stream of bullets to welcome foes large and small in between choosing the next gun to finish the enemy at hand.

Returning is the Chapter 1 requested reload button for those that prefer their manual clip changing to that provided by the weapon swaps.
💀 MORE TO COME!
And that concludes today’s update. Over the next couple of weeks will share more about the nature of the beasts that stand in Urd’s way, some more info on the spells at her disposal, the locales that she will travel through and a revamped Wargression system that governs the upgrade system for our red-headed warlock.

Welcome HUB

Hey Warlocks!

It’s time for another content update!

Today we're introducing something many of you are waiting for since the Early Access launch, the HUB!

The original Project Warlock featured a Workshop HUB between levels, it was a place for the players to unwind after a tough encounter, upgrade their weapons, and level up their stats. We know you missed it in Project Warlock II, that's why we're bringing it back!

The introduction of the HUB also changes the way all upgrade stations work, now they will grant upgrade point tokens which can be collected and used for upgrades in the HUB.

We're also doubling down on character progression. Perks now require appropriate stat modifiers to be purchased. Just like in the original Project Warlock.

For all the collector out there, we haven't forgotten about you! The HUB contains a room with visual representation of collected bestiaries in form of monsters in capsules

Here are the full patch notes:
 • Upgrade stations are replaced with upgrade point tokens which can be collected.
 • Added HUB between the levels with weapon upgrade, stat upgrade and perk upgrade stations.
 • Single Stage Catch Up - disabled upgrade stations in the levels.
 • Added weapon upgrade cost. Weapon shop no longer disables on upgrade purchase.
 • Added stat cost to each perk. To buy perks now you need appropriate stat modifier at a specific value.
 • Improved monster sprites with reworked colouring and shading

That would be it for today. We hope you enjoy the HUB, and all the features accompanying it. Make sure to let us know what you think!

As always, feel free to post feedback on the Steam forum, or our official Discord server!

See you in the next one!
