Patch EA.1.4.1 (#25213) Now Live

Our next patch, EA.1.4.1 #25213 has just gone live and includes a bunch of fixes and QOL improvements, a lot of which are based on your feedback from the last big update.

[h3]QoL improvements:[/h3]
  • Desolated Radio Towers locations visual, accessibility and exploration improved
  • Desolated Radio Towers lore tablets added
  • Every Greenhouse Tower now has at least one Coffee Nut present (to cure Fungal Meningitis)
  • Wrecked Larger Freezer - sparks added (visibility enhancement)
  • Suit VO alerts when entering Infected Garden location without active Immunity Booster (English only, localization to be added in future updates)


[h3]Fixes[/h3]
  • Desolated Radio Towers shouldn’t spawn too early in the game now (players should now be able to find the smaller Freezer location first in most of the cases)
  • Studies / Virus Sample Analyzer Progress Menu - Pyrexia Virus - Required parts updated to Crustpede (as a current source of this virus)
  • “Cure the virus” quest will not start after analyzing the object in the Virus Sample Analyzer (you have to be infected for this virus to start this quest)
  • Temporary Camp - removed a place on the location where players can get stuck if they don't have the Hand Extractor
  • Basic and Upgraded Turbines animations work only when airship is moving and changing altitude (doesn’t animate when docked)
  • Upgraded Turbine bug fixed. It has collision again - it can receive damage and be repaired

- Fixed a crash that could occur when saving the game or flying away after completing the seasonal event quest.
- Fixed a rare crash that could happen when loading a game save that contains an item that was later removed from the game.

We received a lot of amazing feedback from players regarding the issues they had with the Immunity mechanic following the Viral Evolution update. Due to this, Immunity will now be tied to the games story and progression, rather than being something else players need to manage (this won't affect the games difficulty.) Instead, during the current story, the players total Immunity will drop to 75%


Foreshadowing and a cutscene showing the Scientists disease symptoms getting worse have been added into the current story to show this from the start of the game. If you have completed the "Find Coordinates For Underdust Location" quest, your Immunity will just drop instantly, greeting you with the above screenshot when you load your save. This means players don't need to start a New Game to get the Immunity changes, but they can do if they want to see the new story elements.

[h3]QOL IMPROVEMENTS[/h3]

  • Players can now place many interior objects on their airship’s exterior
  • Tool Charger - adding batteries should now be easier
  • Crustpede balance - now it deals less damage
  • Virus Sample Analyzer balance - single Crystal battery lasts for 5 usages
  • Engine and Turbine can now be placed on Ladder Room’s frame
  • Engine and Turbine animations added
  • Eating meals directly from the Cooking Station shows proper Database entries
  • The quantity of crafted items is now shown while using Basic Fabricator
  • Crystal Fuel crafting and recycling time decreased
  • Airship Builder can now build Catwalks through doors and makeshift walls
  • Airship Builder can now build Doors on the Observatory Corner room
  • Players can recycle additional Deck Extractors (except for one, in case of emergencies)
  • Player can now sit on all chairs

  • Synthetics are pickable after recycling Empty Bottle in the Recycler
  • Research Station cannot be recycled anymore
  • Additional Research Station doesn’t disappear from the Recycler after loading a saved game
  • "Find an Overgrown Glasshouse" quest fixed and changed slightly - you have to check the computer now to progress (this should fix the problem with being stuck with progression on this quest)
  • The task “Check new discovered objects in Studies Menu” now requires–as it should–to open the Studies menu
  • Players shouldn’t get stuck in the Medical Station anymore
  • Medical Station no longer consumes Preternatural Seeds when not working
  • Medical Station is no longer duplicating Preternatural Seeds after loading a saved game
  • The player should not be able to access Docking Plank’s controls if they’re standing on the extended plank
  • Water Condenser and its membrane are available in the Basic Fabricator from the beginning
  • Improved Water Condenser to allow water generation if there is any space left and prevent from generating more than it should
  • Automatic Extractor’s panel colors should be less confusing now

Important Notice[/h2]

The Seasonal Event runs until January 7th 2024. After this time, the following assets below will be removed from the game:

  • "An Old Request" quest, quest items and the opportunity to earn the quest rewards. However if you earn the rewards before the date above, they're yours permanently
  • Small Town will revert to its original design
  • Snow / blizzard weather effect

As some of you may remember, our team has been partnering with the UK charity organization Whale And Dolphin Conservation (WDC) for some time now.

This year we wanted to up our support for them, so we created a special unique item that players can purchase and put on their airship called the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Artifact.

The artifact is a holographic globe that depicts two dolphins swimming through eternity. The item can be placed almost anywhere around your airship and can be interacted with to change color.

Anyone who buys the item will automatically have the item added to their fabricator items under the INTERIORS section to be printed out. You can print as many as you want and each print requires 6 units of Synthetics.

[h2]Charity Stream with Worst Premade Ever[/h2]

To further mark the occasion, we've organized a charity stream as part of this year's Jingle Jam fundraising event hosted by Yogscast. The Seasonal Event - Frozen Wishes update is now live on our beta_flight branch for you to test RIGHT NOW! Here are some of the features you can expect…



This update introduces our first Seasonal Event - Frozen Wishes! It is a little quest and a special location we have prepared, but that’s not all. We’re also including new features, items, locations, QOL improvements and loads of bug fixes. Just look at the changelog below!

How To Access the Test Branch
[/h2]

  • Open the Steam application on your PC and locate Forever Skies in your games library
  • Right click - PROPERTIES- BETAS
  • Put in the password: BlimpWorkshop
  • From the dropdown menu select the beta branch tilted: beta_flight
  • Press the blue “Opt into beta_flight…” button
  • In your Games Library click on Forever Skies [beta_flight]
  • Install the Test Branch








[h2]How To Create and Load Existing Saves into the Test Branch[/h2]

Your existing saves for the main game are stored in a different folder compared to your saves on the test branch. If you want to continue and test the game using your existing progress, you’ll need to do the following:

  • Locate your save files on your PC. By default they should be stored in the following file path:
    C:\Users\\AppData\Local\ProjectZeppelin\Saved\SaveGames\
  • Select the save file that you want to test your progress on, right-click, copy.
  • Located your Test Branch save file folder. By default they should be stored in the following file path:
    C:\Users\\AppData\Local\ProjectZeppelin\Saved_BetaFlight\SaveGames\
  • Paste your copied save file into this location
  • As a precaution make a 2nd copy of your save file and paste it somewhere on your desktop or in a safe folder. This way you can ensure you have a clean, backup save just in case.


After you have done the above, you can start the Forever Skies Test Branch from Steam and your save will be present when you select “CONTINUE”


[h2]Existing Saves Won’t be Affected but use an Imported Save To Play the Test Branch[/h2]

Your existing saves, progress, and any custom settings you’ve set in from the main game won’t be carried over to the Test Branch. Your pc will see this as if you are installing and playing the game for the first time ever. Likewise, by playing on the Test Branch, your main saves should not be affected at all.

This also means any progress on the test branch will not be carried over to the main game once the update is live. The test branch is designed to allow you to explore and test new features without impacting your current progress.

Players can opt to play the test branch starting a fresh save, however, if you want to test new content with your existing progress, airship, etc (and we suggest you do) you will need to make a copy of your main game save and import it into the test branch. Instructions on how to do it can be found below.

[h2]Where to Submit Bugs[/h2]

All bugs or issues that you encounter while playing should be submitted via the FEEDBACK TOOL that you can find in-game when pausing the game. Subsequently, you can find the tool under this link too:
