Viral Evolution Update Patch Now Live!

[h3]Greetings scientists![/h3]

Thanks to your feedback, we've just released a patch for the Viral Evolution Update to tackle some of the issues raised!

[h3]Here is what was addressed...[/h3]

Fixes:


  • Valid virus name should display in Virus Sample Analyzer.
  • Looped breathing sound during sleep fixed.
  • Scanning Material (effect) for Thorn Bee Hive added
  • Scanning Material (effect)for Locked supply crate added
  • Blood Coagulator Booster now has a valid icon in Research Station
  • Floating Crustpedes issue fixed (they have something to sit on)
  • Fixed issue when quest was saying “Navigate To Location Marked ! On Radar” but there wasn’t any such location visible.
  • Fixed killed bees re-appear after riding the lift up and down.
Immunity:

  • "Normal" (yellow) stat bar contribution to Immunity was slightly increased in all difficulty levels. Meaning Immunity will be depleted less aggressively.
  • On Normal, the critical (red) stat bar will deplete Immunity less aggressively.
  • On Easy, immunity regeneration was slightly buffed - you will very slowly regenerate Immunity even if you have one Critical (red) stat.
  • High immunity disease prevention was buffed - infections on Easy have very low (
  • Damage dealt by Hemorrhage was decreased by 30% on all difficulty levels.
  • Hunger and thirst for players with Gastroenteritis was decreased by 30% on all difficulty levels.
  • Thirst and hunger stat bar consumption was decreased on Easy and Normal by roughly 15%.
  • Added a tutorial popup for the immunity effect.
  • Immunity is now blocked during the tutorial (starting location.)
  • The player can have 2 active boosters at anytime. The immunity level does not affect the maximum number of active boosters.
  • Added a voice message explaining that the player has used more boosters than their maximum capacity.
  • Added voice message warning player about deteriorating immunity (at 75% and 50%)

Balance changes to existing mechanics:
  • Stamina balance has been changed to be more forgiving
  • Natural health regeneration is slightly lowered
  • Endurance Booster now will regenerate stamina quickly rather than stopping it from depleting

Fixes & Changes
  • Active boosters remaining times do not reset after death
  • Fixed an issue with a trigger for picking up water from Water Condenser
  • Automatic Deck Extractor performance improved
  • You can now place some raw Foods in Virus Station
  • Stamina consumption tweaks - decreased stamina consumption and increased stamina regeneration
  • Difficulty level tweaks (Hard should now be slightly easier)
  • Virus samples can’t be produced in the Basic Fabricator any more. Create them in the Virus Sample Analyzer only.
  • “Hide HUD” default key changed from H to F3
Changes to how the Immunity System works:
  • The Immunity System has been reworked. Previously it was directly connected to the sum of your individual stats. Now your Immunity will slowly rise and fall, depending on how well you manage your basic needs. For example, if your character has full bars on Energy, Health and Nutrition, but very low Hydration, your Immunity will slowly drop. If all of your needs are unmet, your Immunity will drop quite quickly - but when you fulfil the needs, it will regenerate naturally. You can also find Immunity-regenerating items - be on the lookout for those!
    High Immunity will shield you from Virus contraction. As viruses are now much more prevalent, you should focus on keeping Immunity as high as possible.

Finally, we would recommend starting a new save in order to fully experience this new content but it isn’t 100% necessary. Your previous saves will also work, however some players might need to travel a short while in order for the new content to trigger.

Pre-October Update - Patch on Beta_Test Branch!

[h3]Greetings beta_test scientists! [/h3]

Today we are releasing a patch for the October Viral Evolution Update currently available on our beta_flight branch! We have been closely listening to your feedback and the results are playable today:

[h2]Patch Notes[/h2]

Here is the list of what has been added and changed: Base Virus Contraction Rates were decreased slightly. Contraction rates with High Immunity were decreased significantly.
Fever base contraction rate was decreased by 25%
Brain Cleanser Medicine now uses Green Collander instead of Honey in recipe
Electrolyte Pill now uses fewer Sunmelons in the recipe (1 instead of 2)
Hemoglobin Purifier now uses fewer Oil plants in the recipe (1 instead of 3)
All Medicines have increased spoilage time to 36 in-game hours (1,5h of real-world time)
Freezer inventory has been increased by 30% (3x3 -> 3x4)
Dust should no longer disappear if you fly too far from the starting location
Medicine should now have the correct mesh set in the fabricator
Performance improvements to the Infected Garden location
We added localization for whole new content available in the October update

  • Open the Steam application on your PC and locate Forever Skies in your games library
  • Right click - PROPERTIES- BETAS
  • Put in the password: BlimpWorkshop
  • From the dropdown menu select the beta branch tilted: beta_flight
  • Press the blue “Opt into beta_flight…” button
  • In your Games Library click on Forever Skies [beta_flight]
  • Install the Test Branch
