🌀 PATCH NOTES - 0.3.1.8
IMPORTANT NOTES

We tweaked many islands to fix a couple of issues. Foremost, the issue that prevented an island to be restored because it was asking for too much flora has been fixed. Any world with that issue should now be good to go.

We’ve also pushed a fix for the corrupted islands being present without any nodes, but this will require a new world for the fix to take effect. (Previous worlds will still be valid, but those islands will be condemned to stay corrupted forever).

Since we changed the category of multiple items, the game might be a bit confused if you already have them in your inventory. The game will automatically drop an item if it is not in the right category, you can pick it up right after and it’ll sort accordingly.
UI

• Replaced the message of when the game is saving with an icon in the top right corner
 • Upgrade station add-ons appear individually in the build menu
 • Un-sailable zones are pre-revealed on the table-map
 • Fixed the localization when failing to send an animal home
MAJOR BUG FIXES

• Darkwood doesn't require bone tools
 • Islands shouldn’t ask for more flora diversity than possible
 • Multiplayer menu is supported in very wide aspect ratios
 • We identified certain cases that could cause crashes. We’ve pushed a fix that should alleviate the issue. If you still encounter crashes often, try setting your VFX quality to low!
MINOR BUG FIXES

• Hide multiplayer characters during the Fresco Cinematics
 • Using the hammer is a lot more precise while on moving islands
 • Fixed the lag when unlocking the third knowledge stone (wooden walls)
 • Added a warning when releasing a non-native insect
 • Pausing while holding an animal no longer hides the UI
 • Can gather worms using the dorkip on islands that already have worms in their ecosystem
 • Can no longer gather honey on unhealthy islands
 • Can no longer sit on chairs when there is something obscuring
 • Can no longer grab other player’s animals in their home, unless trusted.
 • Many island-related modifications and bug fixes
 • Farming pea, coffee, and sugar beet no longer grow wheat
 • Doors and windows should enter a frozen state a lot less often in multiplayer
 • Small adjustments on the music transitions
BALANCING

• Shrieker drill damage reduced
 • Coward throwables damage reduced
 • Amount of unhealthy island reduced
 • Cooking plate is now unlocked alongside the campfire to allow cooking earlier
 • The Sharpening Station and Pigment Pool are now unlocked earlier
 • Wool and linen threads are now dismantlable
 • Hanging pot decorations now cost compost instead of soil
 • Some items have been moved from MISC to RESOURCES to prevent full inventories in misc category: Coffee, Sharp stone, Sharp bone, Windstone Gem, Dirty Water
 • Cooking recipe page has been moved from Consumables to Misc to keep the "Food" theme of Consumables
 • Wheat has been moved from Misc to Consumables to be kept at the same place as other crops

🌀 PATCH NOTES - 0.3.1.5
Bugs Fixed
• Removed the Wishlist pop-up when players were exiting the game
 • Non-English localization should now show the correct localized string OR the correct english string if it is not localized yet
 • Unhealthy islands will not require more than one animal
 • Teleporting animal homes will spawn them higher than normal, meaning they should not clip in the ground as much. We will improve that feature in the future
We’ll have a new patch out shortly to fix other pressing issues.

Thank you for your patience!

Ahoy, Sky Sailors!

We are so happy to finally announce that Aloft is now released in Early Access.

The current state of Aloft offers a solid first look into its 3 different biomes, building and crafting with hundreds of different building pieces and decorations, combat mechanics against a range of enemy types, farming, cooking, and much more!

Just yesterday, we released our roadmap for 2025, so please check that out if you missed it, to know about what we’re planning for this year.

Fly forth, Sky Sailors! Choose the perfect floating island, transform it into your personal skyship, and explore a world shaped by the winds. Play by yourself in your own single-player world, or in groups of up to 8 in multiplayer. Whatever floats your island!

Before we forget, we also decided to collaborate with our indie siblings at Airborne Empire and Foundation for two Steam bundles. If you’d like to get Aloft alongside either of these games with a 10% discount, please have a look at their respective bundles and tell them we said hi! If you already own either of these games, you can still grab Aloft with a discount.

Aloft’s Early Access Roadmap for 2025

Hey there, Sky Sailors!

Aloft is launching tomorrow, and we are just as excited as you are to explore the skies! Since we are releasing Aloft as an Early Access title, we want to be transparent with what you can expect from us this year. Our goal is to build Aloft together and make it the best version of itself.

First things first, resolving in-game issues and optimization will be our top priority. We know adding new things won’t matter as much if the game isn't running as smoothly as it should. So, fret not, we will be on that non-stop.

For everything else on the way, check out our roadmap below:

But of course, this is only the beginning. We're planning other big things for Aloft, but we’ll announce those when the time is right. We also want to maintain a bit of flexibility and adjust our priorities according to community feedback!

Until then, Aloft is yours to explore—soar solo or adventure with friends, whatever floats your skyship! We can't wait to hear your feedback, witness your creativity, and see you forge unforgettable moments together.

You can use the in-game bug report tool if you’d like to share feedback or report bugs that you encounter in Aloft. You can also join our Discord server and use the relevant channels to drop your bug reports or feedback. Join the community, meet other Sky Sailors, and have fun!

Thank you for playing Aloft in Early Access. We’ll see you in the clouds!
