in this week’s devlog, we're diving deep into the dangerous world of bandits in Gold Fever - their camps, their shady operations, and how our AI improvements make them more cunning than ever.
Bandit Camps: A Risky Opportunity

In Alaska you may stumble across Bandit Camps - lawless hubs hidden in the woods and mountains.
These aren’t just combat zones; they’re potential trading posts... if you know how to talk to the right outlaw.

Bandits run their own illegal mining operations, extracting gold from their private claims. They’re not fond of outsiders, but if you survive long enough to negotiate, you might be able to negotiate stuff or buy rare stolen items.
Dangers of Dealing with Bandits
Bandits are not your average NPCs. Their AI behavior has been upgraded, and here's what to expect:
-They patrol actively through the forest, moving in unpredictable patterns.
-They chase players who enter their territory — no mercy.
-they dodge bullets, taking cover or trying to flank you if they get pinned down.
-if cornered, you can beat them in melee, but it won’t be easy — they fight back.

And one interesting thing you must know: we based bandits AI behavior on the prison guards from our other title :D
